((This is a private Roleplay, created to be between solely Nick and Hannah. It may be read, but not posted in, by anyone other than the aforementioned creators.))
"Test attempt number zero-three. Working at 10% capacity. Beginning..." A young man in a tie-dye lab coat and brown slacks leaned over and flicked a toggle switch, "now." Hanging on the rear wall or the room was a suit, colored with splotched blacks and greys, jumped as a jolt ran though it. The arm was moving. First it's shoulder, then elbow, then wrist. The man in the Lab coat rejoiced. he flipped the toggle switch and ran out of the room on a drunken splendor. The screen went black. "Test attempt number one-five. Will be referred to as Codename "Pegasus" from here forward. Working at 50% capacity, multiple units." The same man, this time with grey slacks and some unkempt facial hair, flipped three switches and hit a button. Three of the grey-and-black suits hang on the wall, all of which arched and began spasmodically moving in-sync. Grey and white bars filled the screen. A VCR whined as a tape was rewound. "Pegasus Test number five-one. Working at 90% capacity. Beginning now." five columns of the suited figured could be seem.. they barely fit in the shot. As the man hit the button, each head perked up and began looking around, first in unison, then independently. The man in the lab coat walked up to one, and raised his hand to eye level. The suited figure extended his hand in a hardly enthused High-Five. The scientist's hands were shaking as he returned to his control panel. He began hitting switches in reverse order, and the figured became more sluggish. He looked around, behind his control panel. A blood curdling scream, and he was pulled towards the wall. The VCR jabbered as the tape rewound. "'AAAAAHHHHHHH!', crunch, choked cries." The tape rewound again, and again, watching that scene. It paused. They had caught it; an arm reaching out and pulling the scientist forward. It had on a black glove, and a grey sleeved arm, with touches of a dark color, protruded from off-camera. Another tape went in. All through the low-lit room, the men and women shifted. A man a gray-and-black walked on screen, trying to drag something heavy behind him. A blood-soaked tie-die coat hung loosely over the dragged man's shoulders. Still choked cries of pain and terror pervaded the empty rooms and halls. A new camera went on-screen, facing the man in the dark clothing. Before a good view could be had, he extended his arm and tore the camera off the wall. The scientist was moving his lips and clutching at his chest. Another camera, this time, nothing went near it. The room was a dull grey, with large, brightly-lit vending machines in the corner, and small, two-person tables dotted it. There was a single window in the far wall. No more than 5 minutes in, the scientist was thrown onto the table. The window may have given him a new hope; He cried for help again as the man who assaulted him fell onto his knees. The assulter had graying hair, slim glasses, and a square jaw. He threw his head forward into the man's side. Snapping of plastic, the two halves or his glasses fell to the floor. He pulled his head back. Blood ran down his cheeks and chin. He was chewing. He threw his head forward again, and brought it back up. The scientist was still crying out.
Many people in the once-packed room were now gone, having been disgusted or enraged. A woman behind the monitor stood propped against a small table, gagging. Another woman walked her out, into the light of the main corridor. Three men in sage-colored uniforms remained, talking to the man controlling the security camera footage. He had a strong jaw, silver hair, and a thick mustache. His sunken-in eyes darked about between the walls of monitors. "That's all we have for OmniGen. They just signed up a few days ago. Just before we finished transitioning to digital format. The man was still feasting on the sobbing scientist. The time stamp read "11/13", with no year signature. Half a week ago. The three men walked out with a "HOOAH!" and a call to their superior.
A Chinook hovered above the tower, the labs of OmniGen, and dropped lines to the room. It was a huge needle, daring the Gods with it's size. so brightly lit it out-shined every other building in the city. "Bravo team, enter though the roof access and work down to floor 80. Alpha, scan the ground. we don't need a chase. Use of lethal force is Granted, not preferred." "Yessir" "Can do."
Rattling of rifles firing from Bravo, squeeling tires and roaring, followed by huge thumps from Alpha. The radios were impassable; the gunfire drowned out everything. "Alpha, Bravo? do you read me?" static. Someone cried from pain in the distance. They were moved away, with a slow, rhythmic drag.

"We lost contact with both teams just over an hour ago." The briefer had said told the men and women who had formed up. All of them were in sage green uniforms, covered in the usual spectra armor. The uniforms themselves were made of kevlar. The shoulders bore an emblem. The emblem was of a black shield, with a white star in the center; the emblem of SFOD, Strategic Field Operatives Detachment. They held their helmets at the side, with the kelvar ski masks inside of them, while the briefer continued. "Without any contact, our superiors are ordering us to send you guys in to see what happened. But, unlike last time, we're placing optical sensors in the helmets of a member in each of your teams. There will be two different ones." A screen came down behind the briefer, and he took a wooden dowel as a pointer. "You've all been assigned teams." Seeing the space that acted as the line between them. "Echo team. You will be sent in from the air, and will drop down onto the roof. There is a fire escape here as well a ventilation shaft wide enough for a man to fit through. Both should drop you on the fourth floor, Echo team, your job is secure the security room, and have your technical specialist hack into the cameras, so that we may have eyes around the building. Then, two other members will be left with the specialist, while the rest of the team will clear the fourth floor, then attempt to rendezvous with the second team on the third floor." He had given that briefing while looking at the men and women on the left of the room. Now he faced the ones on the right. "Delta team, you will be brought in by ground, to the adjacent parking structures. You will enter through the west wing entrance on the second floor. Beyond that door is a small laboratory, maybe the size of a high school classroom. You will hold position here, until the security room is taken, and the word by the technical specialist is given that it is clear to move. Delta team will clear the second floor, then ascend up to the third floor, where they will meet with the Echo detachment. Then, the united teams will head into the bottom floor, where we expect the heaviest resistance to be, since most of the project were taking place in the back rooms. You are instructed to clear this floor, and retrieve any documents of the mentioned projects in the written briefing." The briefer put the dowel down, and faced the fifteen or so men and women again. "Remember that this is a take over situation. You are allowed to fire on sight, but it is imperative that you spare those who choose to surrender. The more we know of our enemy, the better. Any information regarding the situation of the scientists or either of previous teams will also need to be reported." He then raised his hand in the form of a salute. The men and women followed suit. "I wish you the best of luck on your mission." He said, and then dropped his hand.
The single rotored black hawk helicopter approached the industrial building. Inside were eight of the SFOD soldiers, most of them checking their equipment. One woman was sitting around the pilots seat. She was clearly of eastern descent, having long black hair, with light some auburn highlights in some places, that could cover her collar, but was currently tied up in a single bun and held in place with pencils. Her brown eyes stared out through slanted sockets, not impeded by glasses or any optical aid. She was staring at the sliding door where they would jump out across from her. The captain of her team was standing beside it, holding onto a bar. Over the roar of the blades, he was telling his team how they would split. Five of you are going through the fire exit on the roof! That'll be John, Chris, Kevin, Lee, and Mike! I've studied the map of the building, and down the fire escape, we'll be put in the hall on the opposite side of the security room." He then faced the woman on the seat beside the pilot. "Carmen, as our tech specialist, Jeremy, and James will go through the vent. Now the ventilation shaft will drop you about ten feet before you hit the actual duct. Repel down slowly inside it. You will be dropped facing the east of the building, so you will crawl forward, and will pass over vent grates beneath you. The third one you come to will be directly above the security room. You will need to drop in from there. The duct is wide enough for each of you to have enough mobility to get yourself down through that grate. Eliminate any hostiles you see, and radio me when you do." She, as well as the two men she was assigned with, nodded. The LZ in sight, the captain ordered for gear to come on. Carmen removed the pencils from her hair and tossed them aside, and then slipped the mask onto her head. Then her spectra helmet was placed upon her skull, and her goggles snapped onto that. The helicopter lowered and hovered maybe four feet off the roof, while the soldiers jumped out. Carmen and the two men who were assigned to come with her approached the ventilation's opening. The grate was yanked off, and they all peered inside, then to the captain's group who had all just disappeared behind the fire escape door. Looks like the alarm wire was severed, or it would have gone off. They looked inside the vent again. "Ten feet in?" One of the men spoke with an English accent. "Yeah..." "Well, help me fasten this cable to that pole, and we'll all go down and in slowly. I'll go first...Carmen, come in behind me. Jeremy will go in last." When it was done, she watched the first man go in, before grasping the rope, and slowly inching down into the darkness.

“I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?” ~John Lennon
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Sirens whined and horns blared, a symphony composed by the city, and heard by the ears of Patrick Svensky. He looked around the rear of the transport, a huge black van, armored and armored again, and lovingly referred to as Coffin. It could probably have taken a shell from a tank and lived, but for now, it was only used to fly down 21st Street. In the rear with him were five others; flanking Coffin was two other vans. Svensky put on his Kevlar hoods and helmet, hiding his black crew cut, and soft facial features. Everyone pulled goggles over their eyes. The three vans were stopping. As soon as they had readied up, a door between the Force and the driver slid open, and the driver screamed “GO! GO! GO!” The other vans were emptying too. All the same, all clones of the guy next to him. Coffin and Gang sped off some blocks down. Svensky spearheaded the ground operation. Behind him sprinted 17 soldiers, all hand picked from Washington. Above them, the sky scraper loomed, and next to that, a shorter, squat building Echo should already be long into. If you looked hard enough, you could see the helicopter dust off and fly away, its rotors silently beating in the night sky. Svensky and his men entered the parking structure one by one, clearing left to right. It echoed with every step; too often it would sound like someone else was with them, following them, watching them. Voices buzzed over the ear piece in Svensky’s ear. “Clear.” very compromised with static, most likely accidental pick-up from Echo. “Ready to go?” “Hell no.” “You’ll be fine, rookie.” “Gee, thanks.” And a little closer to home, “Breach and bang ready, sir.” Svensky stood by the door frame with his rifle ready. Another man stood the same way, at his side, and two others mirrored them. One twisted around and kicked the door open; the other threw in a primed Flash Bang. Everyone rushed in and cleared the area; it was a large square room, with some flights of stairs in the near corner, and stacks of old desks and chairs against the wall. Two men stood at the door, the others ran up the stairs. One by one, they cleared the floors with very little interference, and once inside the lab, created cover and waited for the green light. Svensky could hear it over the intercom, though no one else seemed to clue in. The men set to guard the doors were shivering; He could hear in their breaths. It was getting cold inside this wing; this building’s power had gone out. When he started saying this, the heaters rumbled back to life and small orange lights bathed the floor in an eerie glow. Back up generators. “Broken Arrow is staged and set. On your orders, Echo.” Svensky’s heavy Russian accent drifted over the radio channel.
----------------------------------------
Isaiah Cartwright crouched feet from a rear door to the lab. His superior, some Russian he’s never met, let alone heard of, just told Echo they were waiting on them. He was here to watch every else’s ass. In his hands he held his baby—a polished and primed SPAZ-12 combat shotgun, named Betsy—and some spare shells. He tried his hardest to concentrate on some useless chatter on the other side of his earpiece, but opted to create a little of his own instead. After thoroughly psyching out some kid the Red picked up fresh outta his crib, he turned back to the door he was facing. Something fell against the door on the other side. He whipped around and picked up Betsy. It fell on the wall again. Thump. Thump, Thump “Contact!” Isaiah whispered hoarsely, before rocking forward on the balls of his feet and reaching for the door knob. Everyone held their breath. Some raised their guns. Isaiah’s glove grasped the steel handle and pulled. The newbie unloaded a full clip into the doorway, pretty well annihilating the dead man behind it. Whether or not she was alive beforehand was impossible to tell. The Red walked over and quickly disciplined both the newbie and Isaiah. “Fucking…Red” he breathed between push-ups. “This shit, uuung… wouldn’t happen if, uhg… you didn’t fuck with me.” The newbie said back, feeling the strain of Svensky’s foot, and weight on his back, as he pushed up. “False alarm. Broken Arrow has had no contact. Just a dead guy in a closet.” Red said into the earpiece. “Echo, keep an extra eye out for Bogeys moving in out direction. Our cover is blown, but we are dug in here, so it would be stupid to expose ourselves again.

Inside the duct, the radio's were going off. Mostly static, but it was making the three of them nearly go mad, which would be bad considering the place they were in. They came across the first grate. Peering inside, it didn't look like much more than few cubicles. The same would be said for the next one. When they reached the third one, James attempted to pull it out. But, the damn thing bolts in from the outside, pulling it up and in was impossible. This was going to be the loudest stealth mission ever. He tried to get as much visual as he could, by moving back a few feet. The room look empty...aside from he dead security guards. "Stand back..." he told Carmen and Jeremy, as he used the butt of his rifle to break the grate open. Two hits, and the thing came loose, crashing to the ground. James quickly jumped down, and signaled the other two to quickly do the same. The room was actually pretty dark, save a single dim light in the back. must be powered by the auxiliary power. Voices outside the room could be heard. They sounded computerized. "What was that?" "Sounded like it came from that room." "I thought we killed all of the guards in that room?" "Let's double check then." The three of them quickly scrambled to find cover. Jeremy flattened himself against the wall behind a big cabinet. Carmen ducked behind the side of a desk, and James inside a second office like room beside the cabinet. The robotic soldiers shone flashlights around, trying to find the phantoms. "I don't see anything." "The damn vent crashed. That's all it was." The faced around to leave, but that's when the power came back on. The light startled the human soldiers, to retaliate to nothing. The two robotic ones were caught off guard, as one was filled with lead instantly. "Contact!!" The other one shouted, before having a bullet be lodged into his throat. Other footsteps could be heard coming to the room now. A robotic soldier quickly spun into the doorway, and started firing with his automatic rifle, forcing the humans to take cover. Gunfire could be heard across the radio channel, and Carmen could feel some of the debris from the wall bounce off her helmet. "Throw a grenade in there." One of them said. "That'll smoke them out." Her eyes went wide hearing that. Taking her machine pistol from its holder, she popped up from her cover, at a very convenient time; the robotic soldier just took the grenade from his belt, and it was in clear view. Carmen did her best to hit, simply pointing and shooting, but with an automatic, you had several chances. The cyborg took several hits, none hitting the explosive...until there was a deafening..well, explosion. The cyborg holding the small explosive was now gone, and the rest seemed to be backing away from the door. They knew they were not in a good position. The three of them heard the cyborgs start to run down the hall, but then they suddenly stopped. "What the in..." one of them said. Then gunfire started again. The cyborgs sounded dismayed. "Get to cover! COVER!" There was not many placed they could run to hide, and bodies could soon be heard hitting the ground.One of the cyborgs seemed to have forgotten that there were people taking cover behind inside this room, and rushed by the opened door...only to be hit by bullets from three automatic weapons. Then they heard familiar voices. "Jeremy! James! Carmen!" It was the Captain. "Hold fire! We're coming up." Soon, the rest of Echo was huddled into the security room. Carmen took a seat before the module. This build had several camera, all connected to these monitors. She had a keen eye, and could be see the slightest movement in any of the monitors. The Captain instructed Jeremy and James to stay, as they would clear up the rest of this floor. Carmen scanned the monitors, and found the room she wanted; the lab-esque one Delta was holed up in. Thank god for modern tech, Carmen only needed to see where the camera were to know where was looking at. Each camera, if requested, would show where it was positioned on the building's map that was on the module. She cycled this a couple times, before picking up her radio. "Echo here, Watchdog is now operational. I have control of the cameras. Repeat. I have control of the cameras." She checked the hall that would be outside the door. The room they were in was at the beginning of a hall. To the left side of the door, was the hall with two other doors, that likely also lead into laboratories. To the right, was the elevator's station and stairs. The camera showed nothing in this hall. "This is Watchdog, Broken Arrow, you have a green light, proceed down the hall to the left, there are no visible hostiles showing on either camera."

"This is Watchdog, Broken Arrow, you have a green light, proceed down the hall to the left, there are no visible hostiles showing on either camera." Svensky got off the newbie's back and moved his hand in a circular motion, pointing at the ceiling tiles. The men all formed up, various firearms at the ready. With the muzzle of his rifle, he pushed open the door to the main hallway, and soon after allowed the rest of his hulking body through. "Clear left, clear right. Splinter One, clear these labs." Four men broke off and entered the rooms next to them. Svensky and the rest proceeded up the stairs. Splinter One will rendezvous with them after clearing the area. 10 stairs up, and minutes after, shooting erupted. Svensky and his men ran down before anyone from Splinter could verify contact. "Grenade out!" One of Svensky's men. At the same time a ball of flame erupted in the back of the room he ran in, and found cover. "Get him!" one of the Bogeys said and started firing at Svensky. The voice sounded synthesized, if not robotic. "Grenade!" another said. Behind him, Svensky could hear light clinks, and the explosive skipped across the lanolium floor. "Fuck!" everyone started funning towards the door, through the hail of bullets. Someone let another Flash Bang out, and the bullets stopped long enough for his team to go the lab across the hall. Same tables as the other one, won't hold against anything, let alone a firefight, but they were cover, so he hid behind them. As the shooters exited, the team fired, and caught them off guard. After an eternity, the pulsing of the rifle ceased, and they went in to assess damages. "10 Bogeys. too big for a scouting party, or even a patrol." "Two casualties. Neuman," at this the man pulled another body's vest off, "and Brinks." A woman stood by the hostile bodies clutching her side just above her right leg. Svensky pulled Neuman's backpack off and found the medical supplies. "Status, Schuur?" "All dead. No identification on any of the bodies." "I meant on that." Svensky pointed to her hand. She pulled it away and looked. her hand was dyed crimson. There was a small hole torn through the weak, non-protective lower layer. Somehow, the shooter managed to miss every bulletproof on her and hit her where it hurt. Luckily, it grazed her, and didn't bury itself in her flesh. Left a pretty good trench though. He had her lay on a table and had another man dress the wound. Svensky and some men finished clearing the rooms. "What the hell was that Watchdog? Something hit us hard. Any intel?"
-------------------------------------------------
Isaiah cleared his throat and approached the bodies of his comrades. The fucking newbie didn't keep his head down, the fucking bastard. "You fucking asshole." He said, quiet enough so that the team couldn't hear him. someone walked behind him and clapped him on his back. before he turned around they walked away. He pulled out Betsy and entered the main hallway, looking for the cameras. Something to get him focussed again. The rest of the team exited and proceeded up the stairs. Isaiah followed behind, and helped the woman with the yellowing gauze up the steep steps. Red was still at lead, even though two people already died under his command. The third floor was better lit than the second, and it had few regular lights on, even though still, a majority of the structure was running off reserves. He couldn't help but wonder how much power it took to light the tower next to them. You could probably see it from space, and the labs connected to it couldn't have enough power flowing to it to save it's life. He followed a small detachment through some offices that ran the perimeter of the cubicle farm, with no problems. The rest shot up, though the middle of the cubicles, with less than 20 bullets fired. "Offices clear." Isaiah said to red who in turn reported this section secure to Watchdog, and asked if anything should be expected in the next big room.

Several battles were going on at once. She watched the monitors as Delta left the frist lab, but not much longer, as a battle with her team erupted in front of a different camera. Inside one of the office rooms filled with cubicles, a team of these cyborgs had dug themselves into a hall, having knocked over filing cabinets and what not to use as cover. To the soldiers fighting them, it did not look like there was a way to flush them out with casualties. But not to Carmen. Already she was studying a map...and could see a way they could operate. "Captain, this is Watchdog." she spoke into the radio, and he quickly responded. "Go ahead, Carmen." "I see a possible entrance point, to catch them off guard. A small detachment can leave out the door they came in from, and face left. The first hall they come across will be on their left, and they need to head done that one. The end of that hall intersects with another, they want to go left again. And finally, the first door on their left, after going maybe four yards, will lead them to a position to the right of your dug in targets. I'm seeing no cover from that side, and as of now, it seems the halls I mentioned previously are more or less unguarded. Tell them to take precautions though. I think it should be exploited before either of those change." The captain nodded, Carmen could see it on the camera. "Alright." He then pointed to three of his men, and signaled them to come. "With me! The rest of you, keep pressure on them. We'll be back shortly." The captain did not have a hard time remembering the direction, while Carmen watched from the camera. But suddenly, her radio erupted into chatter from the Russian accented man. "Watchdog, what the hell was that? Any intel?" She looked to the monitors that gave visual of the floor they were on. "I didn't see them before. They..they must have been in a blind spot, these cameras don't pan a full 360." She knew that was a poor excuse, and she noted how many dead soldiers there were. Be difficult to hide them all in a blind spot. It would seem however, that Delta took care of it, and despite the losses, were moving to clear the rest of the floor. In the room adjacent to the lab Svensky just entered, the cyborgs were setting up something. Carmen was quick to report. "Heads up, Broken arrow. The room adjacent to your left, has hostiles holing into positions where they could easily hit you from the door. They have knocked over tables, and some are waiting against the wall beside the door. May I suggest you approach this problem with a door breach charge?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile, the captain's detachment was advancing smoothly. A left turn...then another left. The intersecting hall, they were met with footsteps. Two of these soldiers were at the other end, talking. They caught sight of the advancing humans, and quickly spun and began to fire. One of the captain's men was hit square in the forehead, while the others took cover behind vending machines. "Shit!" One of the cyborgs spoke. "We need to warn the others, or they'll get the jump on them." The captain was not about to let them do that, as he took a rectangular object from his belt, and pull the pin. "Bang out!" he shouted, as he and his team closed their eyes and covered their ears. The cyborgs were caught of guard by this, and were stunned with a white vision and ringing ears...and then were quickly disposed off, by shots to the head and neck. The captain and his remaining to men continued on the path...stopping at the door. "Carmen, how does it look on the other side? I'm at the door." "Looks like their fire is still focused to the front. Now is as good a time as any." The captain put his hand on the doorknob, and mouthed down from 3...
"Roger, Watchdog. Keep those eyes peeled." Every man left of Broken arrow all stacked against the walls around the door. One man stooped in front of the door, and out of a backpack, pulled a line of orange cordage or a spindle. Svensky drew a rectangle in the air, and the man with the detcord nodded and whispered "Aye." As quietly as they could they waited for the explosive to be laid. You could almost here the hostiles on the other side of the wall do the same thing. An eternal three minutes later, The combat engineer backed up, and admired the orange trim, following the inner door frame to a near exact. Everyone backed up, some three steps, some 30. The explosives expert, the white block lettering on the rear of his vest asserting "O'Malley", looked around, and with his arm up, back of the hand facing the rest of the men, pulled a little black box out of a pocket. Everyone grimmed up, and some people were shaking from adrenaline. O'Malley lightly pressed the button once he eased his way behind a cubicle wall. In a blinding, thunderous instant, The door, as most of the door frame, was gone. The hostiles on the other side couldn't bring themselves to do anything but swear as the hail of bullets followed the breach. "We made these assholes our bitches!" Svensky grunted. "Reloading!" "Out of ammo!" Clinking of a rifle clip sliding across the floor. "Grenade!" "Son of a bitch..." Sure enough, In a hazy, panicked instant, one of the survivors chucked a grenade in their direction, only to have it hit the top of the door frame and bounce back. "Haha!" "Keep firing!" "What the hell are you doing Richardson?" Russian chatter in between the firefight. The crazy bastard was walking forward Rambo Style. "We won! they're all dead!" he replied. "NO, they aren't! get to cover!" "Hell yes! this floor is ours!" "Fucking idiot... covering fire! 'handpicked', my ass. Cover the retard! Someone get a Frag in there!" A little sage-colored oval soared through the air. The squad behind cover advanced some distance while the enemy was taking cover. Richardson tucked and rolled, and to their dismay, used the break to reload. He made it to the door, and he wasn't dead. The rest of the team advanced. The opposite room was veiled in dust and smoke. Svensky held Rambo back and walked in, cautiously at first, then a little faster as he motioned the others to follow. Off to the left of this new, unexplored cubicle farm was a small side hallway, that jutted into the heart of the building. Svensky took the corner and glanced down. Beyond it were further offices, though they were far out of their area of operation. He walked down some ways to clear the large, windowed big-shot offices. He turned to one. The nameplate read "Bjorn Wh-something", he didn't have time to make sense of it. With the barrel of his rifle, he nudged open the door. Screaming and flailing, a bogey ran towards him, and pinned the Russian against the wall, with all his weight on the victim's throat. Svensky couldn't push him off, he was a heavy bastard. He tried kicking, but the attacker wouldn't budge. The rest of them were heading to the objective, they were gone by now. An explosion. Svensky couldn't see, couldn't hear. Once his senses recovered he noticed a shotgun barrel where the attacker's head used to be. Next thing he noticed is that it was attached to Cartwright. The third, that thrown around the floor were small, metallic remnants, Followed by the body, some six feet away. "SO, wha'dya think about Bessy now?" "Eh, she's still no match for My SOF. I just wish any of this shit were made like a Kalashnikov." "C'mon. The closest thing we have to a leader without you is Rambo, and other than that, we're all headless chickens." "Who is this 'Rambo' You all talk about. I..eh... am confused." "Nevermind. Just get us to the objective in less than five pieces?" Svensky leaned down and picked up a pair of goggles his attack was wearing, and put them to his eyes. He couldn't tell a difference, but maybe the techies in Echo can see some use for it. "Watchdog, we are 50 meters from Foxtrot. Requesting detachment to Meet 'n' Greet." On the way, Svensky made Cartwright's "Rambo" do every hellish drill he could think of.
The captain pushed open the door, and immediately, ducked, as his men behind him fired at the cyborgs at the opposite end. A few of those, turned to fire back, but were struck down by the ones who they had been fighting originally. "Get to cover!" One synthesized voice came out. "Where?!" a response came. "Anywhere!" The cyborgs were in a bad spot, as they backed into a corner, it seemed they would be finished off no problem. But they had a surprise coming, they were not going down alone. One of them had been priming a grenade, and at this moment, threw it at the door. The captain and his detachment were helpless. They could not get to cover in time, as it was cooked long enough to explode in the middle of them before it even hit the ground. Although the cyborgs were all killed, half of Echo had been already lost, including its captain. Carmen was gritting her teeth watching the cameras. "Damn it.." Suddenly, it seemed like the monitor started to undergo a little distortion. It lasted a few moments, before stopping. Maybe the electronic equipment was just messing with the monitor. Nothing too interesting. A message from Delta. They had already cleared their part, and were waiting for rendezvous. She picked up her radio to respond. "Broken Arrow, this is Watchdog. I'm afraid you are going to need to wait a little longer for Echo detachment to arrive. The captain was just killed, and our fighting force is reduced to fifty percent..." She heard groans from some of the soldiers on Delta's side. Looks like, just like her, they wanted to get this over with as soon as possible. "Broken Arrow, do you have any confirmation on the identity of these hostiles? We've only discovered the emblems on their shoulders, but it is nowhere in SFOD data banks." She let the radio go, waiting for the response.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Suddenly, there was a crash on the second floor. And Carmen, quickly tried to find which monitor relayed the sound. When she did, she saw several of these cyborgs running down the hall. And behind it...a bulky figured lumbered slowly. When the dust cloud from the collapse started to clear, she saw it had three cyan lights where it's head presumably was. It looked like it was made of metal, and had two massive protrusions of metal coming from both shoulders, looking like solar panels. In it's armored hands, it held one of the largest guns she had ever seen. "..holy...shit..." she whispered to herself. Suddenly, the new threat faced the camera. The three eyes looked as if they were staring right at Carmen, as it approached. It raised one massive hand, and in an instance, crushed the camera's lens. The monitor went black, and she quickly went to her radio. Her voice sounded frantic and full of fear as she transmitted. "B-Broken Arrow! You have hostiles approached from the hall behind you! I saw about 5 of the normal soldiers...but they brought something with them! I-I can only describe it as a mechanized soldier, fully made of metal, and wields a massive firearm. It destroyed the camera before I could get a good idea of how fast or how it operates in combat. I suggest you find good cover, or find a spot to retreat to...I'm afraid and am sorry I cannot be of anymore help...good luck."

"Broken Arrow, do you have any confirmation on the identity of these hostiles? We've only discovered the emblems on their shoulders, but it is nowhere in SFOD data banks." "Uhh, no, Watchdog. They don't look like security, and the videos we reviewed didn't show that Pegasus was even operational. I'll relay any information I get." Svensky muttered through his head set. usually, by now, he'd be on the ride home. "Dig in!" He told everyone in Broken Arrow, "But don't get comfy." Dust was still settling, if only slightly, creating a creepy mist throughout the entire room.. And they waited. Then they waited some more. Then something sounded like it fell through the roof. "...I suggest you find good cover, or find a spot to retreat to...I'm afraid and am sorry I cannot be of anymore help...good luck." "Awww, fuck." "Shit, shit shit!" "Oh, Jesus." In the doorway shone three blueish lights, all into the room. aAround them funneled a small detachment of hostiles. As soon as they all entered, three grenades sailed though the air, and though it scared them, most missed and ended up singeing the hostile's clothes, and nothing more. After that, they went down fairly easily. Then the real show came through the door; It's friends were blocking it's path. "Oh, shit..." The hulking, black monstrosity came though the door. It stood easily eight feet tall, most likely more. The men tried firing at it, but the bullets just bounced off of it's metal hide. it raised it's weapon, a massive gun that looked like a squat rifle, and pulled the trigger. From the barrel shot a gruesome tool, a massive steel spike, That went right through Cartwright's skull, leaving a stain and pink mist. What was left of his head was nailed to the drywall behind him. He turned and fired at another man, a huge guy with a Jamaican accent, but was off slightly, and only pinned his shoulder to the wall behind him. He cried in pain as warm liquid poured out at an astonishing rate. Svensky moved and tried firing, but everything bounced off. Exept in the head. The tango was still slaughtering Broken arrow, but he was taking damage. The survivors took a hint, and aimed there, too. He got frantic as he realized he was getting hurt, and started shooting at twice the speed, with half the accuracy. Eons later, the brute fell, with a deafening smash. Cries of pain were all around. People were in horrid shape. Svensky did a head count. "Crap... 3 dead, 5 injured, and I don't think any of them are gonna make it." he pulled who he could out of the walls and floor, and dragged the wounded to a safe little corner. "I don't know what that was, but we can't do that again." It looked like a shadow moved past the doorway. He looked up and saw that the big guy knocked out one of the lights, and it was shorting out and swinging. His mind was in bad shape right now.

"Broken Arrow, this is Watchdog, what is your status?" Carmen requested via radio. When she got her answer, she shook her head and sighed. "Whoever these guys are, they are not human. They knock over things no normal could alone. I've also noticed when a bullet hit them, it's send off a blue electrical spark. But...then again, they bleed also. This leads me to believe they are of the cybernetic kind." Suddenly, the radios went up again, and both teams would be able to hear it. It was their coordinator. He spoke with a thick Wisconsin accent. "Alexei, John, give me a status report on your squad." "Sir, this is Watchdog." "What is it Carmen? Why isn't john answering?" "John was killed sir..and so was most of our team. The only ones left are me, Jeremy, James, Hammond, Fred, and Russel." "Damn it, are you serious? Who is with you." "Jeremy, sir. James went off to assist the other three." "Alright, Change of plans. You will all need to meet up with the rest of Delta team, and then approach together downstairs." "But what about the cameras?" "The camera feed is pointless, if you have no men to take point. I'll look at our man power when Alexei reports in." "Roger."
Suddenly outside, she heard footsteps. "Jeremy, you heard that?" He shook his head. "No." Then suddenly, the synthesized voices again. "Team, report in." "We're at the security hall. I see bodies everywhere...mostly of our men." "That explains why Bravo 3 has not been responding. Alright, clean up there, and reestablish control." "Understood. Advancing!" The set of footsteps started up again. There might have been four or five. "Spread out. Check the camera room." Carmen slowly closed the door, but..it was still too fast, and they heard it. "What was that?" "Shit, they're in there." "Check it!" Carmen took out her handgun, while Jeremy readied his rifle. one of the cyborgs kicked open the doors...and was met with a wall of lead from the rifle. "Shit! Man down!" One of the cyborgs shouted. "Contact!" another shouted. "Get out of there, you are exposed!" The other cyborg turned to run, but Carmen fired and hit him in the calf. "Agh!" He shouted, trying to hobble away, but Jeremy filled the remainder of him quickly, and the cyborg died right there. "Shit, that's two men down..." another cyborg said. "Shut your fucking mouth!" Cursed the leader. "Flushing them out!" He primed the grenade and through it through the open door. "Shit!" Carmen and Jeremy said in unison. Acting quickly, the women quickly kicked it out the door, back at the cyborgs. "Shit!Get down!" There was another scream. "Gah! We need back up, they are killing us! They are dug in too well." "Flank 'em!" The other one had said. "That won't work!" "We have them pinned that is good enough."
Carmen and Jeremy needed a plan, it was true they were pinned. Jeremy then reached for something on Carmen's belt. "What is...ahhhh!!" He unhooked the flash grenade. "Great idea." He took the pin from it, and tossed out the door. "Shit! Grenade!" The cyborgs shouted. Then came the explosion. "Fuck!! That wasn't a grenade!" The two humans acted quickly, Carmen taking one of the downed cyborg's rifles, and firing into the stunned ones. Jeremy did the same. Two went down quietly, the leader died with a loud shout. "Bravo 5, what is your status? Bravo 5!" It was one their radios. "I think they are down." Carmen decided to keep it. Without the cameras, knowing what the enemy had planned would be the next best thing. The coordinator radioed in again. "Carmen! You okay?" "Yes, sir...just a little shook up. We took care of them though..." "Good...meet up with the rest of echo, and then meet at the rendezvous point. "Roger. "Svensky, you got that?"

"Good...meet up with the rest of echo, and then meet at the rendezvous point." "Roger." "Svensky, you got that?" "Can do. Broken Arrow, regroup, and move out!" the Jamaican man was stumbling along beside Svensky. his shoulder had stopped bleeding, and he insisted that "He cuhn steell fight, mon." He was carrying a slim woman with cropped, dirty blonde hair, over his shoulders. Behind him, most the others from Broken Arrow were either badly wounded, or carrying the badly wounded. Through a meticulously-kept hallway, and another group of offices, and eventually, a small flight of carpeted stairs, leading to Floor 3. "watchdog, watch our six. We can't afford any more bad news. We are heading to floor three now." The lights blinked on and off spasmodically. the bullet holes suggested they got shot up, but nonetheless, it made it harder to shoot someone. Like in the window! Svensky shot around. His team followed, out of habit. in a little window outside one of the private offices stood a little black chair, pushed towards the window, like a little kid was looking out at the hallway. There were no people though, and certainly nothing worth shooting. The team grunted as they picked up their comrades, and proceeded up the stairs. "Your hands are shaking..." The dirty blonde said. "It's... nothing... Michelle." he said it with a heavy Russian accent, pronouncing her name 'Mee-chel'. "okay, sir. you're a terrible liar, you know." She was getting on Svensky's nerves. "Just stay alert, Romano." "We are 10 meters from Foxtrot. Please advise, don't shoot us, Echo."

Carmen attached the enemy radio to her belt to listen into their transmissions. In her own radio, she heard the Russian accented voice. "I'm afraid I cannot comply to that request. I'm being forced to abandon my post in the camera room. I'm gathering my belongings right now." Jeremy waited, while Carmen ran back in. She decided she would keep this rife she had taken from the enemy soldier, after all, she wasn't going to be in the rear anymore. She was reaching for one of her things beside the monitors, when, in one of them, she saw a lone figure walking down the hall adjacent to the room the Captain's team had been pinned down in. When he walked into the light...he appeared to resemble Echo's captain...gear, weapons, everything. She watched him walk off screen...and then switched to the camera he would walk into...but he never did. Perhaps he had taken a turn down another hall? But...there were no other halls to turn on. Maybe he was just taken a rest there. But then she remembered the Captain wouldn't do that. He's try to take charge. A shout from Jeremy interrupted her thinking. "Hey! Carmen! We gotta go!" Turning all the monitors off, she sprinted out the door, and she and her guard ran to meet up with the rest of the group. When they did, there were only six of them now. "Delta, this is Echo." one of the men said. "There are only six of us, I hope you have a bigger fighting force. We're approaching your position, don't fire at us." Finally, all the sage green uniforms met up. The coordinator radioed in. "Alright, listen up boys and girls." He said with his thick accent. "The top priority is still to gather the files from the the lower levels. However, rescuing survivors and hostages is also fairly high on the list. When you get the files, radio, and we'll establish an lz with you on the spot. Got me?" Carmen nodded. "Understood." "Svensky?"

"Understood. Rules of Engagement?" "Employees not expendable. Fire on sight if otherwise" "Fine." Broken Arrow put down all the injured that could walk, and as respectfully as possible, laid the dead in the corner. In the end of it all, three of the five who survived the onslaught passed. Jacob, the hulking Caribbean man, Michelle, the dirty blonde, Alexei, Molly Schuur, a teenage pyro by the name of David, and an old, jaded workhorse named Vasquez, were the only able-bodied soldiers. The other two slipped away , and were unanimously called K.I.A. Anxiety and fear got to them. After the meet 'n' greet, everyone walked towards the stairs, and their objective. A young woman from formerly Echo looked very shaken up and pale, like she'd seen a ghost. Michelle, walking with a surprisingly strong limp, asked her about it, with her slight southern drawl. Molly was dragging behind, still clutching her bandaged side. Shoots of jet-black hair poked out from under her helmet. David was twitchy, and constantly tried firing at nothing. Michelle seemed determined, come hell or high water, to befriend Carmen. Jacob was moving his hurt arm, trying to regains some strength, and nearly knocking people's heads off in the process. Still, for some reason, long after the shelling stopped, the air in this stretch of cubicle farms was still thick with dust and debris. "I saw a flight of maintenance stairs down here. They might be less guarded than the main stairs, up front." David said. Svensky looked his direction. "That sounds like a good plan to me. Anyone else have any input?" While waiting for an answer, Svensky cautiously walked down the narrow hallway to the back flight of stairs, used by the night staff so they don't trip the alarms. Unlike the main stairs, these looked, and felt, like concrete. no decorations, no color. Paved right into the core of the building. On the walls to Svensky's left and right were little white ceramic tiles, waist high. His radio went on the fritz, it flooded with static, but he could still hear voices behind it. It was all to jumbled to be identified. The tiles started falling off the walls. One by one, down both sides at once. The top row, then the second,l then the third. His radio came back into this dimention. "-are you looking at?" "Nothing. just looking down the stair well." "Any targets?" David. "Damn it, anyone have a spare clip of ammo? I'm running low." Molly. Who knows what that was, but everything is normal now. Could have been a small earthquake.

They met up with Delta, who appeared to have more survivors than they did. They were all in far worse shape, but there were more, right? Soon after they were on the move again. Echo, having lost it's leader(supposedly), the Captain of Delta, some Russian took charge of both. Carmen forgot to tell him she had an enemy radio, mainly because the thought of seeing John, their captain, in the camera still weighed heavy on her mind. A woman from Delta was trying to ask why she seemed so burdened. She spoke with a southern accent, and Carmen found her kind of likable. "Well..." she began. "I was packing up my stuff in the camera room. And, in one of the monitors, I see a lone figure, who resembled our former captain. The only difference was he had a black shade to him...and then he just disappeared. I-I keep saying that it wasn't him. Maybe just some..lost soldier. But, our men would report in, and the enemy does not wear that uniform." She bit the nails on her right hand. "I just can't shake the thought from my mind..." Suddenly, the new plan was head down the maintenance stairs. Svensky asked if there were any objections...and there were none. so, down that path they went. A few flights down...it seemed a little earthquake had happened. Carmen felt something solid collide with her helmet, and them pieces of ceramic tile hit the ground around her. It gave the top of her head and itchy feeling. It went away on it's own however. It scared them all a little..but they shook it off and continued going. Suddenly, the enemy's radio went off, and everyone was jump...since they were all voices none of them recognized. Carmen put her hand up. "This is an enemy radio I stole off one of them." she whispered, waiting for the transmission. "We've lost contact with several squads on the upper levels."
"Yeah...our heavy armor isn't responding either." "Damn it. Can we request another." "Yeah..but Valerio won't be too happy about that." "Well, our enemy isn't joking around...especially if they took out all of Bravo, and our heavy armor." "That is an excellent point. I'll ask Valerio." Then the transmissions stopped. "Valerio..." Carmen said, and picked up her own radio. "Flask, do you copy?" "Loud and clear, Carmen. What's up?" the Wisconsin man said. "It appears one of the leader's of our enemy has the name or is codenamed "Valerio". Just a little info we found out." "Copy that. I'll do a search. Good job, guys."

Svensky twisted around as the sound of a hostile's voice went off behind him. Luckily, it was nothing more than that woman from Echo, and a little radio she stole. He shook his head and faced forward again, before proceeding down the stairs. The entire corridor echoed slightly with the team's foot steps. half way down, David heard something. "Shit, did they know we're here?" "It sounds like one of them." Molly pulled out her sidearm and pressed her back against the wall. Michelle eased forward, even past Svensky, and brought out a large, metallic item, large as a bigger part of their rifles. She put her sidearm in a slot, to it's front, and flipped a button. The apparatus snapped at a right angle, and looked down the corridor where the voice was coming from. with another button, she brought a live video feed. "Clear. No movement." Everyone rounded the corner. Vasquez was the last to come down, and put his fist fight through the canvass walls of the cubicle they were standing at. In it was a miraculously still working radio, and through the jaunts where it had supplies power, it talked. "'Welcome to LVPR, Las Vegas Public Radio, I'm Ernie, and I'm here with the chief of police, Jennifer Clifton. Jennifer?' 'Thank you. Well, our latest..." the radio faded, them came back on. "'...Murder in the Luxor, yesterday. We still have no leads.' 'We will be holding the funeral in the Luxor main convention room, this Saturday.' 'Yes, well, Ernie, Carrot Top will be missed very much, but lately, all of the Force's man power has gone to saving Mittens, and her kittens, who were found atop a tree this morning, so any leads in Carrot Tops' death may be hard to come by, and far in between.'" At this, Vasquez turned the radio off. The speakers screeched static, and finally calmed down. No one touched it. Through the speakers, someone laughed, a low, guttural, bellow. then it talked. "Come now, I know you, you know me. Why do you have to fight me like this? I'm always with you anyways. You can't stop me, You can't even find me." the voice dropped to a low whisper. "And you will lose, because I said that you will." everyone leaned in, but the only thing that could be heard was static. everyone turned around. 6 men with large rifles stood at the mouth of the cubicles. and everyone had picked out a head to target first. Were they there a moment ago, when his team entered? Svensky didn't know.
