“You sound like my whole block.” She just looked at him and then marked him off as loud. “I mean, erm, sorry about that. I felt I needed an audience so I had to wake the dead…Uhh…”
“Yeah it’s a tourist town but it’s off season. And there’s no on living here.” The loud man mumbled something and then Selene went on with the introductions. “I’m Selene Novue and this is Rachel Baunduay. This little lazy furrball is Simone. What is your name?”
Rachel smiled and shook her head, knowing that he was just going to get louder. “Vibe Blake!” He pretended his hands were guns and made a clicking noise, but she just raised her eyebrow at him. “Erm…THE Vibe Blake! The lead singer and guitarist for the famous band, 2010: Exodus.” Vibe smiled and she nodded. She knew about them, but she really didn’t listen to them.
“I’ve heard of you, Mr. Blake…but I don’t listen much to the music you make.” She said truthfully. “I’m not one of your fangirls…so please, don’t expect me to say…” Rachel paused and shoved her hands into her coat pockets. She didn’t like the sudden cold. “…unnecessary things, sir.” She wanted to continue on with her picture taking and sketching, but for some reason she didn’t want to go alone. The town was beginning to creep her out.

" To be honest I've never heard of you or your band. Guess your pretty new" she said almost wistfully. It seemed to be colder and colder. she should have brought a jacket, but she left it in the hotel. Oh well.
She turned around looking at the chapel. She had a clear line of site. The layout of this place all seemed to focus on the Chapel. It was perfectly in the middle. Without looking or really caring about the other two she made her way back to the holy site. There was a powerful draw to it. She made it back to the podium. She took out two leather gloves and slipped them on. Remember most of her dream she gingerly touched the book. And nothing. No marks, no blood nothing. So she opened the text.

“I’ve heard of you, Mr. Blake…but I don’t listen much to the music you make.” He heard her say. “I’m not one of your fangirls…so please, don’t expect me to say… unnecessary things, sir.” She had put her hands in her pocket. Vibe should've brought a t shirt at least, he was feeling the chill as well. "Vibe, please." He asked politely, changing his attitude. 'A more sophisticated girl, alright.' He thought and let out a smile. "Yeah, I just love looking at ancient places. My friends say it's gay, but I just love to learn... Of new things." He said with a smile.
Before he heard a response from Rachel, the other girl spoke up, saying she had not heard of the bad. "Yeah... Well we're are a bit new..." He said then looked up to see her walking away. 'Heh, I like her attitude.. Even if it annoys me.' He thought to himself. He followed her. When they got to the familiar shrine Vibe looked at the book. "Hey, no blood.. At least one thing is off about this place." He chuckled.

“Vibe, please.” An attitude change. She quickly saw it, and then he smiled. “Yeah, I just love looking at ancient places. My friends say it’s gay, but I just love to learn…Of new things.” He said with a smile. Rachel nodded her head and just listened to him. That was great for him, but truthfully, she didn’t really care.
“To be honest I've never heard of you or your band. Guess you’re pretty new…”
“Yeah…Well we are a bit new…” She then saw Selene take off and Vibe follow after.
Rachel crossed her arms and looked around. “This place…isn’t a place that I would enjoy on my own…” She jogged after the two and got to the chapel that she had tried to sketch earlier. She didn’t want to go in, but at the same time, she did. She pushed open the door and then closed it after she entered.
“Hey, no blood… At least one thing is off about this place…”
“Excuse me?” She asked, which was her form of ‘what?’ Vibe was looking at the book and he was right. There was no blood, but that wasn’t bothering her. She wanted to know why Vibe would say such thing. “No blood?”

" Why did you mention blood" she looked at him. Now this was just getting eerie. Right now the musical score of a horror movie would be playing. Leading to a suspenseful moment then something comes from the shadows and kills them.
' Enough of that type of thinking, you silly little girl'. Seemed like her mind was truly rational. But knowing Vibe knew about the blood was plain strange. " By any chance did either of you two had a strange dream last night?". Now Selene's curiousity shone. This was more then coicidence. It just had to be more then that.

"Excuse me?" Vibe turned to Rachel, who he hadn't noticed following them. "Blood?" She asked and he nodded. "Yeah, well..." He didn't want to sound stupid talking about a dream until Selene had done it for him. "By any chance did either of you two had a strange dream last night?" Vibe nodded. "Yeah, it was of here." Rachel might've said something but if she did he just listened quietly.
"Welcome to Waynon." A sweet innocent little voice broke out near the entrance. It was the cherry blond girl. He had seen her in his dream. "You are here, to speak with your loved ones, are you not?" She asked with a warm smile as she began walking. She was wearing the same things as in the dreams. "I am Lyra Vanessca. And you are Larry, Rachel, and Selene, are you not?"
"Vibe... Please." Vibe murmered, partially embarrassed by his name. "My apologies, Vibe." She turned to the others. "I can help you, but you must stay here tonight. "You will meet others.. But only I will accommodate you tonight." Her speech was amazingly formal for a child. "May I show you our hotel?" Lyra's blue eyes glanced at the book that was opened but her smile didn't waver. "I will answer any questions you have after I show you the place I hope you'll consider staying tonight."

“Yeah, well…”
“By any chance did either of you two have a strange dream last night?”
“Yeah, it was of here…”
Rachel didn’t answer. She preferred to keep her dreams to herself, and really didn’t know if she could easily tell the other two such things. They were strangers to her and most of the time, strangers were not nice. At least that’s what she thought and it was all because of the night that her brother had kicked her out. She looked at the two and turned around to exit the chapel.
“Welcome to Waynon.” A little voice said as she turned around. It was a sweet and innocent little voice, but it still almost gave Rachel a heart attack. She saw the owner of the voice and immediately connected the girl to her dreams. “You are here…to speak with your loved ones, are you not?” The little girl walked toward them. Rachel wanted to say no to what the girl was saying, but it was true. She wasn’t here just for art’s sake. “I am Lyra Vanessca. And you are Larry, Rachel, and Selene, are you not?”
“Vibe…Please.”
“My apologies, Vibe.”
“How is it that you know our names…” Rachel said mostly to herself.
“I can help you, but you must stay here tonight. You will meet others…But only I will accommodate you tonight. May I show you our hotel?” Rachel followed the girl’s blue eyes and saw them glance at the book, but she still smiled. “I will answer any questions you have after I show you the place. I hope you’ll consider staying tonight.”

It was her. She gasped after the little girl spoke. Selene had to take a step back. This was all becoming a little to surreal. This town, this "child". It was obvious her speech was much more sophisticated and also older then any one she knew. It was as if the line between illusions and reailty became thin and blurred.
She nodded to Lyra. Maybe this was a dream. ' Yeah and your not blonde' her mind said. It was a conflicting feeling she was getting but she knew she had to do it. Like she waited all her life to be here and just say yes.

Lyra waited a few moment and when she heard no objections to staying she beckoned them out. She lead them through the path. "I apologize about the state of the architecture, each building is over a hundred years of age." She smiled listening to whatever they had to say. Finally she led them to one of the bigger buildings of the residential buildings. It was a small manor, it was in a stable state. "This is the house you'll be staying in tonight. Feel free to take a walk around the town and you can take your pictures or study it. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will answer to the best of my ability."
Vibe was anxious to ask about Becca but decided not to look like a fool in front of the other ladies. How silly it would be to ask if this little girl could help him speak to a dead person, so Vibe just stayed quiet.

She looked around. She once read the citizens of the town one day disappeared. Many suspected the lack of communatication. So the people of Waynon moved to larger cities. Her finer tips ran across the old bricks, the smoothed wood finishings. This town should be a natural heritage site.
" Excuse me. But what you said earlier..."
She paused in mid sentence. Selene didn't want to ask but it needed to be said. " What did you mean by meeting our love ones?". She obviously knew her own tale. But could these strangers also have deceased loved ones?

"I apologize about the state of the architecture, each building is over a hundred years of age." She said, and Rachel followed, holding her camera and her backpack close. She followed Lyra silently, for she didn't have much to say, and then they stopped in front of a small manor. "This is the house you'll be staying in tonight. Feel free to walk aroung the town and you can take your pictures or study it. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will answer to the best of my ability."
Rachel looked up at the manor lifted her camera. Photography, painting, and sketching always calmed her down a bit. She snapped a picture and then turned to Lyra. "Excuse me. But what you said earlier..." Selene paused and Rachel turned toher. "What did you mean by meeting our love ones?" When Selene had asked that, she pulled her backpack closer to better protect her mother's broken camera and then rubbed her arm. That was a topic that Rachel didn't want to talk about.
"If none of you mind...I shall be entering the building. As you all know, it's very cold and I'd prefer to be slightly warmer. Thank you, Miss Vanessca...I do not have any questions to ask." She did have some questions, but she felt that they would be answered sooner or later even if she didn't ask. Rachel entered through the door and looked back at the two. This was all too strange for her, and she didn't enjoy how this was all connected to her dream. "Why...did that memory have to resurface?"

Lyra watched as Rachel snapped pictures of the building, then turned when she heard Selene. "Excuse me. But what you said earlier..." After a moments pause Lyra said. "Go ahead." "What did you mean by meeting our love ones?". Lyra nodded. "Well-" "If none of you mind..." Rachel interrupted. "I shall be entering the building. As you all know, it's very cold and I'd prefer to be slightly warmer. Thank you, Miss Vanessca...I do not have any questions to ask." Lyra watched her walk up to the door, she smiled and her eyes were of understanding. Lyra then turned her attention back to Selene. "Well, this town's just a border. Just a gate. I can make you see your loved ones, to be able to cherish one last meeting, but that is all." Lyra gave a gentle smile.
"One last meeting?" Vibe asked curiously. "Can't it be a lifetime or something?" Lyra turned to the man and gently shook her head. "I'm afraid not.." "But if we die, wont we be with them?" "I'm afraid not...." She said, her face getting a bit disdain. "Why?" Lyra pricked up another smile. "Death doesn't work that way..." He thought he heard her whisper something but he couldn't figure out what. "If you all wish to go inside and warm up, please, go ahead and enter."

' To cherish one last meeting?'. " Can't it be a lifetime or something?" Vibe asked. "I'm afraid not.." "But if we die, wont we be with them?" "I'm afraid not...." Lyra said, her face getting a bit disdain. "Why?" Lyra smiled once more. "Death doesn't work that way..." But if death didn't work that way how could they meet them in the first place? "If you all wish to go inside and warm up, please, go ahead and enter."
" Thank you..." she murmured. Selene forced a smile but before entering she paused in the doorway. She turned her back a little to the side, still unsure what to do. Then after a few moments of hesitation she entered. " Why are we given another chance, strange isn't it Simone?".
The blonde haired woman slowly ascended the staircase to the second floor. Peering into each room before choosing one near the stairs. She sat down on the bed, her purse beside her. The cat jumped out and stretched out onto the bed.

Rachel had found herself a room with a lock and locked the door behind her. She gently placed her backpack and camera on the bed. "Right now...Right now...I should be on a plane going to Hong Kong. Hopefully, my work will go well." She took a seat on the bed and pulled everything out of bag, even her mother's broken camera. "Two sketchbooks...pens, pencils...erasers. And this broken camera...I wonder why I brought it." She took off her coat and looked around. "I should be..." Rachel yawned and reached up for the broken camera. "I should be heading back to the hotel." She pulled the camera close and then closed her eyes. Rachel curled up while holding the camera near and closed her eyes.

Keyser Selim had been having the same dream for days now. Every night he awoke in a cold sweat, just like tonight. Every night looked over to the unoccupied side of the bed, where his wife once slept. Just like tonight. He pressed his hand to his eyes until he could see streaks of color. He looked out the window, ajar in the humid night. His arm hurt, a twinge of pain shot up to his brain. As his feet moved from his bed to the floor, and the bed creaked, and a calico cat leaped off the man's lap, and a car alarm went off outside. He reached for a small orange bottle above his T.V.. The label said "...for relieving of phantom pain and other phantom limb symptoms...". He dry swallowed two. The cat was purring, and kneading the pillow that should be supporting his head. He brushed her aside and laid back down. And yet, the pain didn't subside. Every once in a while he would feel like the grenade just went off again. Every once in a while, he smelled the Nam jungles again. Every once in a while, he wore his dog tags again, just to remember what to never forget. Every once in a while, he went to bed chanting "Dirty Gooks...". His face was hard to look at, the left side. Shapeless. The car alarm still hadn't shut off. It got colder, though. Keyser was thankful. He threw his pillow to the floor, and tried to sleep. It was getting brighter. The images of that dream... burnt into the back of his eyelids.
The company he worked for, OmniGen, sent him here for some sort of convention. Cairo. His plane would leave in a few hours. He should get up.
The trip made him want to hug a puppy to sleep. But he didn't. The peanuts were good, though. Back home, to Scotland. his family was turkish, originally. He moved when the shit hit the fan with that stupid American President. Wouldn't wanna get caught in that war of his. His english was still a bit broken, but he was taking correspondence courses. He went shopping, picked up peanut butter, and saltines, and some orange juice.
Another night comes....
