"That language you spoke earlier. It sounds vaguely familiar yet I cannot fathom where I may have heard it before." "It was elvish...but I can't seem to recall the name of it..." He said and continued on even though he didn't need to. "I learned it while I lived with my mother..." Davyn grew silent as he started to remember the past, but then Lestari asked another question. "So did you enlist for the money or the thrill of battle?" "Thrill of battle? Long ago, I learned that the battles weren't like the ones in the fancy fairs and festivals....I don't enjoy the kill or my enemies' sufferings either...." He paused and stopped to look at her. "I enlisted for the money...And what did you enlist for?" Davyn asked.
He waited for her answer and then continued walking. Davyn was silent for the rest of the time they walked. He didn't say anything until he stopped at a tree and muttered something. Then he knocked on the trunk and smiled. If a battle were to happen in these woods, he would be able to use his magics.
The man leaned against the trunk and slowly sat down. "Hmph. I can only imagine what those men are saying about me... " He chuckled and pulled down the cloth from his nose and mouth. "Now...Lestari... is it? Can you hear their voices?" Davyn closed his eyes. Lestari probably couldn't hear the voices of the woods, but it couldn't hurt to ask...

She smiled at Davyn, he was a good companion. He was an interesting man, who appeared to be quite intune to nature and the spiritual world.
"I enlisted for the money...And what did you enlist for?".
She knew what she enlisted for but what would she say? Well the money first of all but the erason behind it .... she wasn't sure just yet that she could say that.
" I-I enlisted for the money" she spoke softly.
The winds cried with utter unhappiness. The sounds of running water was faint coming from long distances yearned for peace and tranquility. Or how the earth smiled for no apperant reasons.
"Now...Lestari... is it? Can you hear their voices?".
" I'm afraid not the woods but the rest of nature.... is another story".
(( And Le crappy post is here ))

Xinrae gazed skyward, and found herself suprised. The sun had sunk well below the mountains, and stars were creeping into the far corner of the sky. She shivered as she climbed out of a small pool in the stream, and found her still-clammy clothes. She ran her hand through her hair, and leaned against the trunk of a young tree. I swayed lightly as she let her full weight on it, but settled easily enough. before long, as she was taking her hand away, and preparing to head back to camp, the tree swayed again, though she didn't touch it, and there was no wind. Something climbed out of it, almost as if it were a door, and stood, staring at Xinrae. It appeared to be made of flame, though, the air around it was no hotter, and it was green as leaves in a lush summer. Two arms, Two legs, and a head, it looked vaguely human. In one of it's "hands" sat a large war scythe, gleaming in the sunset. That looked real enough. Xinrae backed away, but the creature implored her to stop, though wordlessly. "I am Hajok Earthguardian, protector of these woods from those that would harm it." It threatened without a sound. Xinrae continued to back away, though slower than before. From the trees that were behind her, more of them sprang into being. Xinrae was panicking; she lifted up her staff, and brought the bottom of it crashing towards the ground. In a wide arc, she swept her hand past the attackers and continued to distance herself. a wave of wind radiated out, and ended the duplicates of Hajok, though the original was merely pushed back. He looked at her and slowly got up. from the branches of the trees descended something that looked like Hajok, though it was a dazzling white. From the ground below her rose a creature of piled stones, and from the stream climbed a creature, greatly more human than the others, though she had Elvish qualities. They all chattered among themselves, before the creature from the water approached her. She looked at Xinrae, then caught her in hug, that lasted an eternity. "Xinrae! I haven't seen you since you were this big!" She held out her index finger and thumb, in a slight exaggeration of size. "I'm sorry if Hajok went after you, He's been a bit hot-headed since the army camp moved so close." "Greetings, friend. I am Shakor Firespear, Guardian of these winds." the white one said. Unlike the being from the water, this was heard, but not said, too. The Hulking stone one approached next, "Droajam, Mage of the Sands, at your service, Ma'am." "So, how's Mum?" the water creature said. Xinrae looked at the ground and shook her head. "I'm sorry, Sehlon. I just don't know." Despite the time, Xinrea continued to talk with all the elementals, until long after dark. They laughed, they cried, and, until they learned that Xinrea was part or the army, they were jovial. They all pledged to help her however they could.

The three days past, and no sign of the enemy. Kahyet gave the order, and assembled those who were to come, unaware Xinrae had recruited help. Zadukar, Kolgrim, and Einarr were all ready to move out, and more anxious did the two hunters seem. "Yes!" Kolgrim chirped happily "This will be a great way to test our valor! I hear the razorclawed tiger lives in those woods!" "No you fool! It is the Razor tooth lion! the Razorclawed tiger would not dare go near such a beast, and would be fair to inferior to dwell within these woods." Einarr interrupted. "The lion is but a kitten in comparison! How much ale did you have last night!" "Not enough to drawn your hideous face from my memory!" "That's it! You pushed me too far! A blow will be given this day!!" Kahyet cleared his throat. "Men...please?" The two of them faced away from each other, while they awaited the rest. After about two minutes, Kahyet looked to the cleric. "Zadukar, what was Xinrae doing last you saw her?" "Eating with the rest of us...she then left for the river, likely to bathe. I do not peek at fair gender when they are like that, sir."
