"Miss Masters, it is important that we know..." The Prime Minister urged. There was a silence before the woman spoke. "If it's dangerous we must know." Still nothing. The reddening general couldn't take anymore. He slammed his fist on the table and stood up, walking quickly towards. Grim was in the middle of the two before he even got into pointing distance. "If you can't play like a big boy, Adolfo, then maybe you don't belong here." He said calmly. The man growled a few obscenities before walking back to his desk, the woman let out a laugh. Grim returned to his position and folded his arms. "The subject of that case is over." Grim said and both the Prime Minister and the General winced. It would make one think, who really held the power here? Bets on the one who got a welcoming service from the troops. The woman from before decided to move the subject. "Before we talk about plans. I saw two children accompanying you. Are they your children?" Ramsey picked up his head at the news, licking his lips. Anyone can tell what he was thinking.

It was funny hearing the exchange between Grim and the Idiot, and even funnier when Grim announced a subject change. Like Grim had said, they moved onto the subject of children. Of course, it wasn’t something that Amanda wasn’t expecting. “No.” Were they that stupid? It seemed to be the case. “They are strays…” She didn’t like using other’s words, but she figured she’d be of some amusement. “…that I have vowed to protect.”
It seemed at her message came clear across and the same smile from earlier reappeared. Even if they did question the children, they wouldn’t get far and she also had methods of getting her way.

The woman smirked at Amanda's response. "Heh... Grim briefed you well." She started writing down something on a piece of paper. The Prime Minister shifted uncomfortably. "The case-" "Perhaps we should move on." The woman said as she looked up. She brushed a dark gray strand of hair out of her eyes with the glossy blue pen. "Yes, Redwood. Fine." Ramsey's eye twitched slightly and his teeth grounded together. How silly he must've seemed. "I will move on to the main reason you are here." The Prime Minister picked up a folder full of paper and started shifting through a few of them. "We are currently in development of certain sensitive weaponry. Your work with ARC seems to be based more with the virus but I believe you may have the talents necessary to help the project." Before he could continue, Redwood stepped in. "That is futile and you know it. The Plagas is not the real threat." "Not this again!" This time it was another man, a Middle Eastern seeming general. "There is no such thing as a man stronger than a tank round, faster than a car! I refuse to have that in discussion!" Redwood looked over at him. "Wesker is real! And I'll tell you, he is more of a threat than anything the T-Virus or Plagas can mutate!" Grim stepped in. "I agree with Redwood. Ramsey's plan is foolish and will only result in more tragedy than solution. We need to deal with Wesker." The Prime Minister shook his head. "Now you've got the Commander thinking your crazy thoughts, Redwood!" Redwood shook her head. Quite a few of the people began arguing about the plans. A few sensitive words flew by, words like Nuclear, murder, genocide, last hope, and asshole. Redwood stood up and raised her voice. "Quiet!" The people toned down and looked at her. "Before we decide what we want to happen. Let us let her choose." "Let her choose? Is this a democracy!?" Ramsey shouted with laughter. Redwood looked offended. "Is she a prisoner?" Ramsey grunted. "Well, she already has the handcuffs on." Redwood turned to look eye to eye with the apathetic woman known as Amanda Masters. "What this ball of chub has planned is to nuke the US. We don't know if the Plagas are a hive mind. He wants to hope to 'get lucky and hit the queen' wherever that is. I'm asking you. Instead of being their slave. Help me, no help yourself and help your children, help me kill Wesker." "He doesn't exist!" Ramsey shouted. "Quiet!" Redwood continued. "I know what you're thinking. 'why ask me?'. Wesker is not human. Bullets don't work, explosions don't work, nothing works! The only thing that we can hope would work is a virus. A virus or some kind of chemical. This is your field. Not Nuclear Weapons." She gave a distasteful look at Ramsey before sitting back in her seat. There was a slight silence before GRIM spoke up. "Perhaps you will give her time to consider it. She had gone through surgery just a few days ago and you haven't let her eaten or rest." Redwood nodded, as did the Prime Minister. "Though there is more for me to say, I will allow downtime. Tomorrow we will be expecting an answer." GRIM hurried Amanda back into the elevator. "Sorry. Politics don't change."

She simply watched them and listened. She heard a compliment of her skills and almost laughed, but remained calm and maintained her poker face. They knew nothing of all of her work and to her, their information was extremely outdated. She did, however, give them a bit of credit of being able to search up information, but then again, a child could have easily found such information.
While they spoke about their problems, Amanda kept her thoughts to herself. She knew of a way to create such weaponry and in her eyes, it was quite simple. After toying around with the parasite, she had confidence in being able to make something. But of course, all of the plans and solutions laid in a quiet corner within her mind like most ideas did.
It was then an argument over the topic of Wesker emerged and exploded. She knew what Wesker was and what he was capable of. She knew what they wanted and hoped for her to do, but she hated that they were thrusting their idiotic dreams onto her shoulders. Amanda hated being a last hope of sorts. It meant unnecessary interference with her plans. These…simpletons were wasting her time.
Amanda stood up as soon as she was allowed to. She felt as if they were mocking her and was glad to be out, but her expression kept the same. As she reached the elevator, she heard the words of GRIM and simply just looked up at him. For a moment she thought about it and then turned to the closing doors. “Politics… If it’s not idiocy, then it’s corruption…but then again the two sometimes mix.” He then said something that caused her to smile a bit. “Ah. I see.” If he knew it, then she wondered what he would do with that knowledge.
Meanwhile in the mess hall, Emily used her fork to separate food to make food drawings. She was a little bored and too young to care about the words coming out of Button’s mouth. “VinVin…I’m trying to make a food drawing of you…but I’m not very good.” Emily then reorganized the food to make a boat. “I like boat rides…” She giggled and turned to Vincent. “VinVin,” Her sparkling eyes revealed that her childish thoughts were stirring. “Do you like shooting guns? I don’t…Guns are scary…Mama’s got shotted before and it looks like it hurts…”

During the elevator ride, Amanda made a crack about politics. GRIM chuckled, it was so true. "It's definitely mixed here." He didn't catch the smile, she just seemed to comment. It was hard to tell with her. She seemed so... Emotionless. It reminded GRIM of someone. If she was anything like him... Then maybe working with her was a bad idea, if she was anything like him... Then she was more dangerous than GRIM could be. "Get some rest. I'll see you in the morning."
Vincent smiled at the food drawing. Now that he thought of it... What does he look like? How often did he see himself in a mirror? He remembered he's seen a mirror but did he ever stop to look to see who was looking back? Even if he saw the figure... Would it really be him? A rush of sadness filled Vincent but it was short lived as Em's giggle quickly brought him back. He looked over at her to see the sparkling eyes that were so dear to him. He gave a wide smile as she asked if he liked to shoot guns. "No! I don't. 'Manda says I have to. But... I guess I do... Cus I with it I wont let anyone hurt you!" He said and gave Emily a hug. "Euugh..." The bald woman across the room pushed the second tray away. "I lost my appetite." With that she got up and left. If it isn't sex, it's disgusting. As she walked out she stopped in front of Amanda who had finally made her way back. "Oh! Excuse me, your highness." With that, Buttons moved away with a mock bow to let Amanda through. After that incident she just walked away. Vincent only eyed her through his goggles but kept Emily in an embrace. When he finally let her go he smiled and pointed at his goggles. "Do I look like a bug?" Before she could answer, the door opened from where the bald woman left. Emily called to Amanda and Vincent spun around to flash a smile. A polite young British private shown Amanda where their room was. The night ended.
---
Next morning, 7am. Knock knock knock... Knock knock knock... "Amanda..." Vincent shook Amanda as his other hand scrambled with the goggles. "Miss Masters?" Knock knock knock. "The Prime Minister wishes to see you."

Emily felt his warm embrace and smiled, happy that someone was there to protect her. As much as she loved her mother and her father, her father was gone and her mother sometimes left to. It was good to know that someone was still looking after her. “I’m happy then. VinVin is awesome.” She hugged him back and attempted to give him a tight hug as well, but she wasn’t able to because he was still stronger.
From across the room a person gave a loud groan, and Emily looked up, interested in why the person had groaned. She saw a bald person with boobs, but in her childish mind, she wasn’t able to connect the two. “Vinvin,” She whispered. “Is that a man girl? Girls are supposed to have hair.” She blinked a bit, still confused.
As the man girl left, Amanda entered and stopped in front of man girl. She looked at the woman and watched the person mock bow. “Cute.” She commented with a slight chuckle and then she turned to the children. “Emily, Vincent.” She nodded to them and Emily gave a big bright smile. “It’s mommy!” She heard, and soon after they were led to their room.
The next day, early in the morning, Amanda stood over her opened suitcase, examining its contents. She then closed it at around six am. After that, she prepared herself for the day and at seven she heard knocking. “Of course,” she called. “ I will be there in a moment.” Amanda turned to the children and whispered to them to be good and strong before leaving. Emily was still asleep.
Amanda followed the soldier to the same elevator and she met GRIM there. This time he was wearing a trenchcoat. Like him, she had changed her image as well. Her hair, now a bit long, was tied up into a ponytail, but some strands of hair were unable to be tied up so she tucked them behind her ear, revealing multiple piercings. Around her neck she sported a gray scarf to keep herself warm. She then had a black coat that ended a little bit passed her waist and it was over a simple white, long sleeved shirt. Her pants were a dark colored grayish-blue that hugged her thighs and calves, but were anything but tight. Her shoes weren’t the usual military boots or sneakers she wore, but they were useable. She had picked up a pair of black and gray women’s hiking boots. Amanda didn’t tuck her pants into it, instead the pant’s legs’ ends crumpled a bit before meeting the beginning of the boots. Her appearance gave her a more uplifting and more youthful appearance, but her demeanor remained serious and down to business.
“Good Morning.” She greeted GRIM and soon after they entered the elevator.

Grim nodded to her. "Good morning." Grim let her in and then when they were both side to side again he hit the "up" button. Before he could say anything he let out a yawn. It must've been pretty funny looking since he had a mask on. Trying to imagine a yawn behind a mask was difficult. When he was finished he started. "It's too early to hear the politics. When the door opens, don't sit down. Just walk over to the chair, immediately tell them your decision then walk out. If you stay they'll try to convince you, I've seen this happen all day. Plus General Dickwad could get angry again." The doors slid open and Amanda did as she was told. Redwood's smile faded a little but she did not change her demeanor. Ramsey laughed, literally at her until Amanda addressed his proposition and pointing out facts. Redwood smiled wider and looked at Ramsey. "You little bitch! You know nothing of sacrifice! You don't know that eggs must be broken before you cook them! You don't know-" The elevator doors slid closed. GRIM chuckled. "What's the difference between this and an action movie?" He asked and was silent for a second before continuing. "Replace the timer with all of their greed and replace the bomb with Ramsey." He chuckled. "Just in time." When the doors slid open a second time, GRIM followed her out but unlike the other day he kept following. "What are your plans now? They wont let you leave, and despite any big plans we could always use someone who knows their way around a needle and technology." GRIM reached up and pulled his mask off. Blue eyes glanced at Amanda. He had short black hair, his face structure was near perfect. He could be a movie star, a heart throb all over the world. "Why don't you stay?" He asked with a slight smile. "Forget their plans."

Amanda entered the elevator and heard him yawn. It was amusing to watch, but she didn’t comment and stayed quiet until he talked to her. “You don’t have to tell me.” She responded and took her hands out of her pockets to rub them. It was chilly in the base and her hands always seemed to feel the coldest. When the doors opened, she walked to the chair and looked at Redwood.
“I will not help you.” She paused and thought of what to say after. “You are not prepared and do not have sufficient samples to even talk of creating such a virus or chemical.” Amanda heard Dickwad laugh but she turned to him, almost glaring daggers. He was a retard and she had to be polite, or as polite as she could be. “And your plan is far from being well-thought out. Have you ever considered the consequences of such an action?”
“There will be death of not only the undead and plagas, but there will also be the death of human life. Such radiation has the possibility for further mutation for the predators and you would be also further dooming humanity. Why? Reclaiming an irradiated land with nothing left in it…is foolish and it will also be even more of a wasteland. Besides, you haven’t even got the slightest clue where the hive mind is. Why waste resources when they’re extremely important?”
Amanda coughed and turned. “I’ll take my leave.” She heard his yells of fury from the idiot, but ignored them and walked into the elevator. The door closed and there was no more Dickwad to worry about. While she would have enjoyed playing around with his foolishness, she was relieved that she didn’t have to waste her energy on him. It was then that GRIM began to speak.
“Action movies…” A thoughtful look touched her expressions. She couldn’t remember the last film she had watched. All she did remember was reading a lot and studying a lot, but she could guess what occurred in an action movie. Of course, her thinking was a little bit different than what Grim was saying, but she still nodded and let out an, “Mhm.”
As soon as the doors opened again, she walked out and noticed that GRIM was following her. “What are you doing?” She asked and instead he replied with a question. “I don’t know.” She lied and he told her things she already knew. “Of course not. There is always a need for someone like that.” Too bad it isn’t me, she thought and continued walking, not turning back.
It was then he said something that caused her to turn around. For once, she couldn’t hide the surprise at the fact that mask boy took off his mask. “I don’t have much of a choice.” She said, stating the obvious. “But I will tell you that I wouldn’t stay if I had such a choice.” Amanda wasn’t going to lie to herself. The man was appealing to the eyes, but her past experiences stopped her from indulging the fact. “So you have a face under there.” She simply said and turned around again. Amanda began to walk, quickly taking her mind off of him to think about the kids.

"Yes." A voice stated from behind the two. GRIM stopped with Amanda and turned to see Redwood. "We have yet to find out if he has blood." GRIM gave a nod. "Redwood." "GRIM." She nodded back and looked at Amanda. "You were right back there. We don't have sufficient samples. The day will come when you will. I respect your decisions." Before she walked away she snapped her finger and turned back around. "The Prime Minister deems you a liability... And instead of letting liabilities get as far away from the base he is confining you in it. So I guess you don't have a choice. I'm sorry. It's probably for the best for your kids." She smiled and waved and then left. GRIM turned back to Amanda. "Guess you don't." GRIM looked at his hand which produced a watch. Whether it was the right time nobody knew but he certainly grew to know where the hand was at certain times of days and used that as his time. "I have to go. Get acquainted with the base today. There's also a school for the kids. Bye." He put his mask back on and walked away off to do whatever GRIM does... What does he do?
---
A month later... The kids have been in the school for a good few weeks. 99% of the kids there could speak English amazingly. The teachers were nice but they questioned Vincent quite a bit, at first the kids did, too. If Vincent wasn't trained, then some "bullies" would have been able to rip the goggles right off, too bad they went home early for bloody noses. Emily had an easier time getting acquainted with some of the nicer kids, Vincent had issues. Maybe it was because Emily was the only child he really knew? Either way, he occasionally got jealous then extra clingy when the classes ended.
On Amanda's side of things, she got occasional visits from GRIM. So occasional he had only seen here 4 times since she came. Even that was enough to make girls talk. A few of the more feminine soldiers called her lucky and believes there's a connection between the two. In fact the only person who didn't seem too big on the idea of GRIM was Buttons who was still a bitch. Her and Amanda would have moments where they would trade a sarcastic remark then ignore each other. Buttons didn't mind Amanda too much. Redwood checked on Amanda every other day, keeping a close eye on her and the kids. Was she protecting them, or watching them? Multiple times did the Prime Minister send people over to either attempt to retrieve Amanda, tell her propositions, or take the case and each time ended in failure. You'd think the guy would try a different tactic but nope.
The days have grown colder, snow fell more constantly. Kids were running all over an improvised play ground. Vincent was sitting beside Emily, extra quiet today. He had been acting strange the last few days. She couldn't tell but under his goggles his eyes were closed, wincing. Vincent bit his lip. "I think I want to go." Vincent told Emily. Never once has he left class or recess early. "Could you... Ask the teacher to call mom... Please?" He still wasn't turned towards Emily. His right leg shook as if he was nervous or trying to get his mind off something.

She turned and looked at Redwood. Her words were expected as Amanda noticed enough of her personality. It would seem that this woman would be bothersome in the future. “Of course he would.” The part about a liability was expected as well and she knew damn well that her background wasn’t helping. All of these annoyances were giving her a headache, but she refused to show them her annoyance. At least not now.
After the woman left, GRIM left as well, s Amanda expressed a little relief. She didn’t like talking to people she didn’t feel the need to talk to many people. She wasn’t comfortable about these things, especially about what they were asking of her. Going against Wesker? She wouldn’t dare tell anyone, but she feared him even if she had some admiration for him. The man could do whatever he pleased and going against him was foolish and so was working with him.
Amanda shook the thoughts off and continued to her room. Her stay here would be anything but pleasant.
A month eventually passed and Amanda kept herself busy, but what she did remained a mystery to everyone else. Every other day, she found Redwood intruding in her life and of course the Prime Minister attempted his hand at things, but she gave the two enough of a show to keep herself her own person. Occasionally GRIM would visit, but she found that troublesome as well. He created problems for her and now rumors were buzzing. She wasn’t pissed off, but she was a bit miffed at the fact that those rumors sometimes kept her from being productive.
Emily, on the other hand, found life to be a little bit more fun. Before, she had never been to a school, but now she got to be in one with her best friend and brother. She quickly became a bright student, but she caused much trouble during the survival class. She hated talk about the undead or plagas. Whenever the topic was brought up, she would become quiet or at times almost unresponsive. The topic always bothered her.
She made a few new friends, but she still felt closer to Vincent than anyone else. She was protective of Vincent and when the children asked about his goggles, she would yell at them. Once she even yelled at the teacher. After some time, the other kids stopped asking and they left him alone, but Emily would play and stay beside him. She hated the idea of someone being lonely.
“VinVin…I know survival class is helpful, but I hate it...I hate everything about that class..” Emily said as she swung her legs back and forth. She was sitting beside him at a bench. “VinVin?” She turned to look at him. It was weird, he was super quiet the past few days. “Go? Go where? We still have school…” She was confused. “Are you ok? The teacher? Ok...Stay Here, I’ll be right back.” She hopped off of the bench and ran to the yard duty teacher.
Amanda was called while she was working in her room. The sudden ring of the phone startled her, causing her to accidently knock over her papers. On the papers were a few notes, but even if the camera caught the contents of the papers, it would be hard to understand. Like a lot of her work, she kept them coded. “Ah, shit.” She sighed and then picked up the phone. “It is, Amanda Master. What is it?” As soon as she was told, she got up from her desk and left her room with her suitcase.
She arrived at the school and was quick to enter the nurse’s office. The nurse was standing over Vincent and attempting to pry the goggles from Vincent’s eyes. “What are you doing?” Amanda asked and the nurse told her. “There is no need. I will take him from your hands. Vincent…” She called to him and reached out her hand. “Before you say anything, I think I’m fully capable to finding out what the matter is.”

"Vincent, if you don't let me see your eyes I can't help you." The nurse was a bit big but she was normally kind. Vincent's lack of cooperation was putting a dent in her patience. She reached for the goggles and managed to get one lense off, Vincent had closed that eye. "NOOO!! I WANT MOM!" Vincent screamed and forced the goggle back down. The nurse was taken aback by the boy's strength. At this moment Amanda entered. "Miss Masters!" Amanda asked what she was doing. "I'm trying to diagnose the problem but I can't get his goggles off." Amanda said there was no need and that she would take him. "But-" Amanda cut her off saying she was fully capable of handling it. Once out Vincent was quiet. "Sorry mom..." He said low, feeling a bit guilty that he had dragged Amanda out and annoyed the nurse. Once back at the room, Amanda told him to take the goggles off. He did so. For a trained eye like Amanda's she would notice that the blood red eyes were starting to look glassy like marbles. Something that is normally seen on deceased people. "My stomach hurts... I feel hot... And... I feel like something wants to come out of me... I did what Emily did that one day a long time ago. When her food came back out of her. I did that in the bathroom..." Never once has a Vesper thrown up, or even gotten sick. His skin also felt unusually hot. "I'm just sick, right mom?"

Miss Masters? Amanda remembered that she didn’t introduce herself as a doctor or a scientist to these people. Even though she had stopped calling herself a doctor for a while, she still had trouble remembering that she was just…normal. But at the moment, she was more worried about Vincent. She had his small hand in her grasp and heard him apologize, but she shook her head. “It’s alright…getting sick happens.” But she wasn’t sure that Vespertines got sick. This was new to her and a part of her was intrigued, but the other part was extremely concerned.
Once they got into the room, she asked him to take off his goggles and she quickly noticed irregularities. Like other information, she tucked it within her head for future use. “You are hot…and you don’t seem to be well…” She put the back of her hand to his forehead and then had him lie down on his bed. What he was telling her and what was happening was all too new. Normally she wouldn’t be so alarmed, but she had grown accustomed to him and caring for him.
While she had him rest, she sat at the side of his bed with a notebook. While writing down her observations, she wrote down possibilities of what could be ailing him and ways to solve them. Considering that her notes contained much about the Vespertine, she put it in code. From being on a ship and being in this base, she had quickly learned how to code and write in code easily. She didn’t want anyone to know anymore than they needed to.
For what seemed to be hours, she was just sitting there, watching over Vincent, but her peace was shattered quicker than she thought. The door to their room was kicked open and the sound of cocking guns filled the room. They were yelling things and one grabbed her and arrested her. They called for backup before taking her son away. Others came and took all of her notes and papers. One even took her case. “Vincent, be strong…” She told him before they jerked her away and forcefully dragged her towards the elevator. They brought her notes and case along.
The way they handled her was anything but gentle. “Let me go…” She said, but they continued to treat her roughly. The guards didn’t like the smug look she had and they treated her as if she was the most dangerous thing on earth, but she didn’t blame them. Her track record wasn’t exactly spot free. “So we’re going to see the prime minister now?” They said nothing, but she did receive a slap. “You will regret that. “

"Mr. Prime Minister." "Yes?" "She's being brought to your office like you requested." The Prime Minister flashes a smirk as he looked into a transparent crystal representation of the Earth. The door opened and the man turned and sat back in his rather large leather chair. "Have a seat." The Prime Minister said as he held a hand out to the chair. Whether she was about to comply or not, she was shoved into the chair and handcuffed to it. The guards backed up a few steps and held their ground. "I knew you were planning something malicious Miss Masters but-" The door opened a second time and a soldier brought in Amanda's case. "Ah! Yes! Thank you!" The Prime Minister attempted to fiddle with the lock but to no avail. He smiled wickedly and looked at Amanda. "What's in this? I want in." She told him to open it. "I can't you little twat. How do I open it?" She then stated that there was a lock and that he should unlock it. He bit his lip for a second before he started laughing. "You're a funny girl!" He said in mock hysterics. "Give her the best comedian prize!" With that said, the guard to Amanda's left balled up his fist and hit her. "Now Miss Masters... I don't need you. I already have your notes... your case... And your freak. But I'm a nice guy. If you save us the trouble from having to break into this case, I'll let you help us. And I'll even let you see the freak at least twice a week. What do you say Miss Masters?" She then said that he wouldn't be able to read the notes and that the case was easy to break into. The Prime Minister cocked his head for a second, he was clearly growing impatient. He looked up and nodded at the guard and again he hit her. "Desperate times call for desperate measures Amanda! This is your last chance-" A few distant gunshots could be heard on the base. "What? When did they start the exercises again? They're only supposed to be at dawn!. Shut them up!" The soldier who didn't strike Amanda left to go tell the shooting peoples to shut the fuck up. "Right, where was I? Oh. This is your last chance to tell me how to open this case or we'll drag your little angel out of class. Maybe I could put her in a cage with your freak? Acting pretty finicky lately, hasn't he? Have you fed him any humans lately? And I will not risk you putting in some kind of trap in this case. Now how do you open it!?" The Prime Minister slammed his fist on his desk, causing a picture to fall off and break on the floor, he didn't seem to care. She said it wasn't booby trapped but gave him the code anyways. The gunshots got a bit louder. He played with the dial a bit but had no idea what she was saying. The guard who had hit Amanda a minute ago walked over and put the code in easily. The case opened... He pulled up a piece of paper it was all just gibberish. "Hmph... This means something... One of my men will be able to decipher this sooner or later." He continued moving through the paper then gave her a smug look as he pulled out a file with real research notes on it. "Looks like someone got lazy." He was smiling like a kid who just won a candy store until he pulled out the last paper and noticed the indentions. "Ahhh.... I've seen this sort of gun... The plagas used to use them. You know I've seen many people who worship the plagas. The plagas use them as infiltrator agents. Are you an infiltrator, Masters? Treason is a horrible crime punishable by death... Any words of defense?" She then said the inoculation guns were used for many other things. The Prime Minister gave a laugh. "If they were used for harmless medical procedure you wouldn't have been more protective of it than your own children!" She then said that she was sick and dying then explained that she did it for the children. The Prime Minister squinted his eyes and examined her. Yes... She does look sickly. There was mention of a surgery before they touched down. He smiled. "Children? I wonder that now. One of your children have signs of plagas. Nice lies, though. You almost had me fooled." She then said she'd be willing to give a blood sample saying that she'll show him what USAMRIID done. The gunshots started up again, this time closer. "What in the devil is going on?" The door opened again and in came Redwood, dressed in black combat BDU. "Redwood? What is happening!?" "We have defectors." She walked over to the window and looked out. "WHAT!? Is it GRIM!?" "No." She raised a pistol she had withdrawn and fired 6 bullets into his chest. "Me." Before the guard could react, Redwood sidestepped and he was shoved forward toward Redwood. Redwood grabbed him and threw him out the window. 7 story splat. Amanda couldn't see who had initially shoved the man but a breath could be felt at her neck. "Hello princess." The smell of marijuana was strong with each breath. Of course it was easy who to tell it was. Buttons walked around the chair and sat on Amanda's lap, looking at Redwood. Redwood looked back and shook her head. "Hurry up and get her out. We don't have time." Redwood put Amanda's notes back inside her case and closed it then turned around and took a few files that the Prime Minister had. "Nope. You remember our fucking arrangement, right?" Buttons asked, taking a hit of her blunt. Redwood nodded. "It's foolish but yes. I promise." Buttons gave a smile as she turned around and noticed that the guard with the handcuff keys was outside. "Oops." Buttons picked up Amanda's hand and held the chain tight. "Hold still or I'll blow your fucking hand off." She fired, breaking that chain, freeing Amanda's right hand. Then moved to the other hand and did the same. Redwood turned to Amanda. "We need to get your children out." She said and bent down to pick up the Prime Minister's designer .45 and held it out to Amanda.

Amanda was shoved into a chair and handcuffed. “Open it.” From others’ standpoint, it would seem that Amanda was calling the shots as she sounded more commanding than the prime minister. It was obvious to everyone but the ‘glorious leader’ that she was toying with him. “Well there is a lock…Thought I should point that out because it’s obvious that it didn’t cross your mind to unlock it. “ She was punched, but she didn’t flinched. “Notes? You won’t be able to read them, let alone do anything with them. The case is easy to open…”
Of course, the idiot continued to be bothersome, and Amanda only gave him a smile. “It isn’t booby trapped. I thought you would know that from your cameras. Triggering a booby trap that I set would be foolish...However, sisnce you are being bothersome, I’ll give you the code. Septem, novem, decem. And humans? You’re mistaking him for the undead, but I can’t blame you. You have no idea what you are stepping into.” She watched as she opened the suitcase and listened to his musings. He really was a retard.
As he pulling out all of her papers, Amanda’s smile returned. She knew what he would see would frighten him. As soon as he saw it, he began to accuse her of worshipping the plagas and she slowly shook her head at him. “No, inoculation guns are used for other things.” He yelled. “I’m sick and dying. I want to live for the sake of those children…” among other things. But he didn’t believe her. “Would you like me to show you what’s wrong with me? What USAMRIID has done?”
He didn’t respond as Redwood suddenly walked in. What followed after happened quickly. The Prime Minister was shot and the guards inside were quickly killed. Before Amanda could comment, she felt a warm breath on her neck and then finally someone sat on her lap. When she looked up, she saw Buttons. “Cute.” She simply said and she was quickly released. She didn’t say thanks, but nodded to them before grabbing her case and the .45. “He had terrible taste…” She muttered.
When they got out of the office and the elevator, Amanda saw the chaos about and bodies were already about. She wasn’t sure why this was happening, but she felt it was better not to ask. Redwood led them to the research area. There they quickly slipped passed some guards, dealt with others and t she found Vincent. “Vincent… They didn’t do anything to you?” She asked, but he didn’t say much. “Press the release.” She commanded someone and as soon as Vincent was released, she carried him.
Amanda did look sickly, fatigued, and weak, but her actions said other wise. She had Vincent piggy back on her, and still managed to keep one hand free to fire the ugly handgun. It took a while to weave through the chaos, but they made it to the bunker. Redwood entered the bunker first and during the time, somehow convinced them to let Emily go. When Emily got out, she quickly hugged her mother, clearly frightened but relieved. “Mommy…” She sniffed and Amanda told her a part of the situation. “Ok, Mommy…I’ll stay close.”
Some time after Amanda got both of her kids they arrived at the dock. “Redwood, ma’am!” One of her soldiers called when he caught sight of the group. One foot stood in a small boat while the other was on land. “Mini-boat secured!” He announced as they got close.

There was a major engagement going on outside. Explosions, people, bullets flying everywhere. Most of the soldiers didn't even know who to shoot at they only know to shoot. They could have dropped their brother and not even noticed. Buttons took the lead, aiming out targets she felt would aim their guns at the moving party, or perhaps she said that but just shot anyone she didn't like. Redwood took the back to make sure the kids wouldn't be hurt. At the dock there were 6 boats docked, a few of them being boarded. Out in the waters 4 boats were circling around each other, engaging in battle. Shots could be seen aboard the ship. Redwood picked up Emily and jumped on board the boat after Amanda. There a slight putter ringing in her ears and she was able to immediately identify it. "Helicopters? We don't have any helicopters..."
---
"This is Phoenix I, over. We're over Alpha now. Hold your fire until a positive ID can be made." "Roger that Phoenix I, Phoenix II out." "Roger Phoenix, III out." There were three, high flying. The ARC logo clearly painted on the side of the choppers. The helicopters seemed to part and then slow to a hover. Their doors slid open and there were four snipers. One in two of them and two in one of them. "Most of them are wearing helmets I can't make a positive ID." One of the snipers fired, startling the driver. "HOLY SHIT I SAID HOLD YOUR FIRE!" "Unless she's a 200 pound nigger, I don't think you have anything to worry about." The soldier replied and another black soldier that caught the conversation had to put in his 2 cents. "Fuck you, motherfucker." More was probably going to be said but the commander of the team cut in. "Keep this line clean! Or you better hope you grow wings!" The two quieted. "I don't think she's outside." "If not we'll have go in on foot." "Wait, I see boats." "They could be trying to evacuate her." Silence... "Got a positive ID! She's on a docking boat. She's mid-sea. Third one from the bottom, over." "Phoenix II, clear some of the clutter on land. Phoenix III take out the other boats. We'll make the extraction." "Roger"
---
"What are they doing?" One of Redwood's supporters asked. Buttons shook her head. "Fuckers are looking for someone, and I'll just bet who." "Amanda." Redwood growled. "Amanda, get your head down." It was too late, the choppers broke idle and two began their approach towards the water while the third rained missiles down on the base. The gun emplacement on the boat began screaming above them. "Incoming enemy boats!" Redwood already saw them. There were two. Might have been Ramsey's men. They weren't going to be a threat, though. One of the helicopters swooped in and blew the back boat up. The second boat broke off their pursuit. "Are they on our side?" "No, they're protecting their package!" Redwood stepped up the ladder to where the soldier was on the mounted machine gun. "Get off!" She growled. "But-" He couldn't finish as the woman pushed him down to the lower deck. Redwood took hold of the gun and reloaded it. He aim wasn't after the now-fleeing boat that was once pursuing them. It was on the helicopter that seemed to be closing in. "She's not your tool!" Redwood growled and unleashed a hail of bullets. The helicopter almost immediately backed off.
---
"HOLY FUCKING SHIT!" The pilot screamed into the mike as bullets ripped through his windshield. His lucky rabbits foot hasn't let him down yet as he was able to pull the chopper back. Still though the hull took torture from the boat. "Phoenix III, take care of the driver, then take out the gunner." After destroying their second combating boat, Phoenix III ascended and the doors slid open revealing the sniper from before. "Wow, that bitch is old." "Driver first, stop them." "I heard him mother fucker." A shot rang out and the driver fell from the wheel. Then the scope went towards the bitch on the gun. "Stop fucking moving so much, I can't get a good shot!" The driver didn't comment and the chopper didn't seem to let up as the driver's paranoia of someone targeting them with a rocket launcher got the better of him. Another shot. The woman on the gun didn't fall. In fact the gun turned to Phoenix III's chopper. The sniper licked his lips as he had to be calm and time out his shot. Unfortunately for him, he took too long. A hail of bullets and one lucky round that penetrated into the fuel line. The pilot got finicky and the chopper jerked hard as the pilot moved to make an escape. The sniper lost his footing and unfortunately, he wasn't able to grow wings. A large splash signaled the sure sign that that man would not kill another black man. Finally another lucky bullet hit the pilot. The "Co-pilot", not having the capabilities of being a co-pilot, thought it best to run to where the doors were opened and leap, but the bad luck continues for Phoenix III as the helicopter was now in free fall. The blades ended up chopping Mr. Co-Pilot into three pieces. The helicopter then smashed into the water, out of the fight. "Shit, we lost Phoenix III. Zach, it's up to you now. Phoenix II, withdraw." "Roger that, Phoenix I. Withdrawing."
---
The helicopter harassing the ground seemed to turn and fly away. "They're fucking retreating!? Where the fuck is the fun in that!?" Buttons growled. The other helicopter flew over but was moving fast. It flew low for a second and went over the boat then out of sight on the other side. A second later the helicopter was flying in the direction the other helicopter did. That fight was over. The gunshots got quieter as the soldiers on the ground seemed to give up. There was no victor they just all seemed to submit as the loss of lives from each other and especially the helicopter was crippling. The battle at sea seemed to end out similarly as two boat broke off to head back to shore and the others moved to the flanks of the boat carrying Redwood and Amanda. They docked with difficulty on the moving ship but eventually were able to. Redwood and another soldier along with a reluctant Buttons carried the wounded driver on board and immediately headed for the medical bay. There were about 12 Redwood supporters on board. In the bridge there were four people. The driver, his child, his wife. And GRIM. A battle that could earn its place in a history book had just ended. The adrenaline rushing through everyone's veins made the cold ass air nothing more than an autumn breeze. Not a single soldier boarding or on board the ship had a smile on their face.
