All good things come to an End
But I betrayed those who I so dearly loved. At times I wondered if the threats were indeed real or if they were merely to make me into a pawn for some sick game. As I look back and the situation I cannot help but think that any mother would have done the exact same in my position.
I had live in this small mountain town almost all of my life. It was very slow paced, it was a wonder why we even had police men and at the size of the police department was almost bewildering since the crime rate was like 1%. Growing up in a Caucasian dominated town was a little awkward at the best of times.
I was accepted into high school at the age of eight. There I had met three of the greatest friend I would have ever known. Jack Anderson, an ambitious boy and a notorious flirt. Ayami Garnet, a jealous girl but always loyal to her friends. And lastly Jillian Masters, a transfer student from California that had made me smile so easily.
I was of mixed blood; part-Japanese, part-Caucasian. Yet my Asian bloodline was physically more dominate. I learned martial arts while growing up, my father insisted. So I learned the slow art of Tai Chi Chuan.
It was a soft martial art style that best suited my nature and my mother had signed me up for ballet lessons, believing that I was a bit of a clumsy girl yet at the time I didn't think she was right. She really prepared me for life ahead.
My father worked as a bio-engineer at Umbrella Corp. while my mother stayed at home tending to the house. During high school I began to appreciate science, particularly chemistry.
From then on my goal was to be a biochemist working at a pharmaceutical company. Even though he was enthusiastic I knew that he'd rather prefer I become what my mother was.
I glanced at the analog clock settled on the bedside table. I swept my hair back behind my shoulders. It was the first day of school, so why not girl it up for a day?
Smack!. I ended up dabbing a bit of tissue paper on my lips to remove the excess lip gloss. Lightly swiping on a bit of sky blue eyeshadow on each eye lid. Another quick glance.
" Still another hour. I suppose I could fix my hair" I murmured.
The clock signaled Seven fifteen am. ' Dear god.... this is going to be a long day' she thought. It was a simple hair-do, it was off to my right side; a ponytail near the base of my neck.
I put on a thin, arctic gray sweater and powder blue pencil skirt. By the time I chose a small accessory such as earrings, rings and possibly a bracelet or two she had to get going.
I walked alone down to Raccoon High School. And for the first time I was smiling with glee, only a few months and it would be graduation. Then off to Universite PARIS VI in France; hopefully studying under Markoulatos Panayotis. He majored in Virology & Immunology.
I greeted some of her fellow classmates in the graduating year. Already the rumor mill was in effect. Also hearing of a new girl, from California apparently.
I even managed to locate the goof, the girl must have been the Cali girl. She had said something. Something closely resembling " Excuse me?".
Jack laughed at her, then jokingly said. " You sneezed?". She had to lightly bite her tongue from laughing at the poor girl. It was always a hard transition from one school to another.
So I walked over to the group of boys, some of them going off to their girlfriends others. The rest seemed to find a place to snooze until the next class.
" Your horrible you realize. She had never done anything to you" I spoke up to the elder boy.
He merely rolled her eyes back at the shorter Asian. " It's not my fault she bumped into ME. She could have, I dunno watched where she was going to?".
" If I hadn't known you for so long, I would have already kicked your crotch". I did the whole herbal essence hair bounce thing and walked away from the jerk, I called a friend and shook my head.
" Why can't girls ever take a joke not so serious?" he murmured.
