The Discovery...
“Sir…”
A girl closed an old book with a smile and tossed the book aside. The girl adjusted her glasses and turned her attention to the window. Outside was a beautiful moon-lit sky. She loved nights like these for you could see the stars. She sat there waiting for the man to say anything, but he was silent and she was getting impatient. She motioned for him to sit down and he did.
“I’m a doctor…what do you need?”
She asked and the young man sat down. He explained the death of his wife and the girl listened attentively at first. He told her that his wife had gone out last night and never came back. The girl didn’t seem too interested in what the man had to say and she was beginning to get bored. She yawned and the man asked her if she was listening, and of course she lied.
“The police found her in Coven City…that’s good.”
After she had said that her eyes widened, for the man had continued. He described how the police found her. He said that she was pale and had been drained of her blood. Apparently she had been drained from the neck. The girl’s eyes widened and she smiled.
“Sir…do you believe in vampires?”

"Hey, Mom! I'm going back into Coven to visit." She said weeks before and now she was at the bus station and waiting for a ride home. It was cold in Coven and it really wasn't safe at night anymore. She had been told that every night at least five people get mugged and a handful died, so standing in the cold at night wasn't really her cup of tea. "Taxi!" She shouted waving her hands and a taxi zoomed passed her. “How troublesome…”
The girl sat on the bench shivering with her luggage beside her. “Damn…” The girl wasn’t very tall and she had short brown hair that stopped around her chin, but tonight she had tied it up. The girl wore contacts instead of glasses and had oceanic blue eyes. She sat there fiddling with her cross necklace and staring at the multiple rings she had on her right hand. Instead of dressing warm, like her mother had said, she had dressed in a black shirt with angel wings on her back, some jeans, and sneakers. “Ta…” She yelled, but the cab zoomed passed her. “…xi.” She really didn’t want to be in the cold at night. She didn't want to be there.
For a long time, she stared at her rings and then suddenly grinned. “These are the babies I used to cut up that bastards face…” She muttered, thinking about the fight with her ex-boyfriend. Another cab passed by and she figured that it was no use. “Hello mom…”
“Jean Cross! Why are you late?”
“The taxis are being bitches…”
“Don’t use that tone with me…”
“Pick me up, mom…” Jean hung up her cell phone and sighed. Maybe she should have called her sister, Jill.
((...and city is Coven...I don't feel like describing modern cities...))
