"Had no idea...S'okay though. I think we both need to be gettin' ready for the push tonight, huh?" "Yeah...I hope that I don't die tonight...I need to find someone..." K.C. said and she watched as he let his smoke out. "Well, we should go. Was a pleasure meetin' ya Miss K.C. Cross." He said and then walked off to prepare. K.C. waved as he left and smiled. She killed some time by hanging with him and that was cool, but now she had to go look for something else to do.... "Great...guess I should write down all the kills and what not." She walked back to one of the barracks and found her cot. When she found a comfortable way to sit, she took out a small note pad and wrote down some things. "...Should I count how many kills I made with the rebel's gun...? No...I think this book is only for the sniper kills..."

The alarms went up, as everyone scrambled from bunk and cot to start the assault. The tanks crew to their tanks, officers to their stations. Olivia was struggling to get her flight suit on in the rush, and when she finally did, she was last to the airfield. Most of the other Comanches were finishing their pre-flight checks when Olivia was able to enter hers. There may have only been four other helicopters, but she felt behind. Olivia strapped her helmet on, and them started her pre-flight check. "Fuel...good. Weaponry...nominal." She flipped a few switched, and the rotors started to power up. "Rotors are functioning properly." The air traffic controller started to signal the helicopters. Olivia was rushing to catch up with them. Finally, having all been cleared to go, she started to let the chopper lift off. "This is Horsefly 4, I'm in the air." She announced through her radio.
Being the only Raptor pilot at the base, it seemed Saddler was told to sit this one out. He wasn't too happy about it, but he understood why. This jet would be a great advantage. The troops and tanks started to go forward, ready to take the town from the GLA. The helicopters would follow up later on.
At the Chinese command center miles away, Youmei was surveying the entire advance. She had pressed a few buttons on her console, and typed in a few numbers. Before her were several monitors, one showed her just the progress of the troops like a video camera. Another was thermal, and a third showed her unusual pings from whatever her satellite picked up. She had just put in coordinates for the thermal scanner, and already, she saw several human shaped figures in the building. "I'm putting up an alert, keep your heads on a swivel." She broadcasted to the American and Chinese forces. She expected the Chinese soldiers who understood english to translate what she had said to ones who didn't. "Several hidden infantry have been detected garrisoned in some of those buildings. You'll need eliminate them in order for a safe advance. I'll leave that call up to your commanders though."

This was the real push. There would be no chance for a secret attack. Tanks have been posted around the town like a wall. Only a few would go in at a time. The infantry and air divisions would do most of the battling this time. This time air would be used more often, due to their major loss of the troops the previous day they had few anti-air units. Chinooks would be flown in for combat drops to take occupied buildings that the Chinese Operator informed. Vic would be one of them, he wasn't wanting to drop down by rope, rather fly the damn thing but again he was denied. He watched out of one of the circular windows as they passed the rolling convoy of tanks all spread out to make a nice uniform wall. Three Comanches flew at the sides of the Chinook, one at left and two at right. Apparently the fourth was late. How Vic envied seeing all these propellers and him unable to fly them. Soon enough the Sergeant called out to them, it was time to repel. At least he would have some fun. It only took a minute and they were on the roof of some kind of small shopping center.
Reports came in and the commander translated to the troops in the crawler. Apparently the enemies were hiding in the surrounding buildings. They're doing the same push as the other day, but this time with added protection and quicker reflexes. The troop crawlers were spread out in three sides. Entering the town from three different directions to file troops out. That way the enemy doesn't focus on one spot. Explosions shook the crawler violently. A missile unit was firing heavily on the troop crawler. Sirens sounded from the inside, this was bad. The Chinese troops began to file out, quickly but keeping calm and in fashion. Xiang was outside now and he ran for the nearest building. It seemed like some kind of abandoned automobile sells place. All the sale cars were missing but one on display which most likely didn't even have an engine. Suddenly an explosion and the troop crawler was desecrated along with three red guards plus its driver who were unable to escape. There were enemies in sight. It was time for revenge.

"Damn, already?" "Yes, already. Cross get your ass out of your cot! You're lucky that you didn't get your mother fucking ass roasted yet!" "Ohhh..." K.C. got out of the cot and waved her hands in the air. "I'm so scared!" She pulled up her sleeve and shook her head. "It ain't even time to go!" "We're pathfinders. Remember? We're the first ones out..." "Fine, fine...shit, man...It's too damn early." K.C. sighed and went to prepare herself. She was in another mission on another night and she figured that war would never let her rest.
When she was finished with everything, she came out of the barracks looking like a normal pathfinder. "Ready..." She said quietly before meeting with some other pathfinders. They told her about where they would all be put and then they talked about other things. When the alarms went on, they quickly got to where they had to be and soon were dropped off at a 'safe place'. From that spot, the pathfinders went to where they were supposed to be at and then reported in.
"I'm putting up an alert, keep your heads on a swivel... Several hidden infantry have been detected garrisoned in some of those buildings. You'll need to eliminate them in order for a safe advance. I'll leave that call up to your commanders though."
K.C.'s fingers tapped on her rifle as she waited for the green flag. The night was silent and she wanted this thing to be over soon. "They gave the flag." She looked at the buildings for a bit and then she spotted an RPG trooper firing at a troop crawler. K.C. raised the scope to her eye, aimed, and then pulled the trigger. "One." She said as she watched her target fall back and his weapon fall out of the building. She had killed him too late and because of that, there was an explosion. K.C. mentally cursed, but continued on to taking down other GLA soldiers.

"Several hidden infantry have been detected garrisoned in some of those buildings. You'll need eliminate them in order for a safe advance. I'll leave that call up to your commanders though." Austin looked around. in the Chinook sat seven men, and all were doing the same thing. Looking for support from everyone else. Their faces were smeared in black and brown paint, the whites of their eyes seemed so much more focal. The pilot motioned with his arm, and all the rangers nodded. They stood up, and repelled down the line, into the fiery chaos of war. Just above them flew the Comanche squad. Below, Rebels fired into the air, at their swaying target. Austin hit the ground first, and in a roll, avoided the fire. The report of his gun was echoed by another's, and then another's. He fired again. Hanging off his belt were a few small, white cylinders. He stood up on reload and rocketed it into the window of a two-story building facing them. A few men fell out of the windows by the shock of it, but most just fell to harmlessness. he and three men moved in and secured it. Two of them hardly made it to the window before being perforated by a hail of bullets. Someone picked out a huddled group of RPG troopers firing at the sky. Remembering his words, Austin unloaded a clip and a half into all of them. "23 bullets left. Anyone got a spare?" someone shouted from the ground. Air support was annihilating the armor column. Something popped. A brick was knocked loose from it's already precarious perch by a stray bullet. A really big, stray bullet. Another pop. This one lodged into the wall. It was a sniper bullet. Austin twisted his body behind what little wall he had. "We have hostile long range infantry in the vicinity. I repeat. Snipers in the area." Now that he looked, a lot of Humvees weren't moving any more. And quite a few didn't even have a driver. The man behind him got caught in the explosion of a Scorpion below him, and got knocked back 15 feet. One floor down, footsteps were running their way.

Youmei was getting reports that GLA were picking off vehicles, and that a troop crawler was annihilated. The GLA's defenses were much better than she had anticipated. Then finally reports came in on snipers. They'd be a real problem. It's time she did something about that. The woman went back to her satellite controls, and scanned the areas beyond the column. The thermal reading gave her more pictures of hidden GLA troops. Making out shapes was easy, and she could see the snipers. She sent out a transmission. "I've located the GLA snipers, and I'm preparing to eliminate them. However, I'm going to lay down a safe zone for the ground forces." She studied the real-time window. "There is a tower structure to the north of the flower shop, missing the dome roof. Commanders, keep your main forces behind that, until I say it is clear." She then switched channels to another frequency. "Fighter wing, do you copy?" she said. A response came. "This is Fighter Wing, do you have our target?" "I do, uploading coordinates."
Meanwhile, Olivia was finally able to catch up with the other commanches. "This is Horsefly 4 reporting in." "There you are!" The commanche captain sounded. "Get up to formation and help clear out the---" Suddenly, she ehard his radio cut out, and looked to where his helicopter was. There was no explosion, however she could see smoke coming from his rotors as it spiraled into the ground; the chassis was full of holes. "Captain is down!" One of the other pilots shouted. "Captain is down." Olivia spotted the culprit; a Quad Cannon. "AA guns! They have AA guns. Requesting support from ground tank column! Take it out!" She watched as a few tank turned their cannons to meet the Quad Cannon. Guess the helicopters were important. "FIRE!" she heard some of the tank commander on the radio. The door of the Quad Cannon opened and the operator jumped out and ran for cover, as his vehicle was destroyed. "AA guns eliminated." The tank commander said. "Now, I expect you to return the favor, Horseflies."
"Of course." Olivia responded, engaging her rocket pods. Three scorpions were clustered by the right of the column, and she decided this would be her target. Her console started locking in the separate targets, ensuring an even amount of rockets would be "given" to each. When ready, the rocket pods unleashed their fury, and in a matter of seconds, all three tanks were gone. "Taken care of..." she told herself. Suddenly, the roar of jet engines above her caught her attention. They were Chinese MiGs.
"Fighter Wing here, target locked." The captain said through the channels. "Napalm missiles engaged...and...firing!" The four MiGs let their missiles fly at the target building Youmei had locked, the ones with snipers inside. The napalm missiles hit the bottom, center, and top parts of the structure, setting it ablaze. Anyone who survived the impact, would be burned to death. "Remember." Youmei said through the radio again. "Do not advance until I say so."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The operator of the Quad Cannon had been running from the fight, being unarmed. He was dressed in military fatigues, most likely stolen from American rangers, however his head gear was definitely arabian; a turban on his head, while a veil was pulled up to cover his mouth, giving him that mysterious look. A radio was in his hands, as he already announced his return, and surprisingly, they were not going to kill him....but that may be because he has shown his battlefield prowess again and again...and even know after shooting down the captain of the American Commanches. His radio cackled. "Get back here as soon as possible, Kantoh. We have another Quad Cannon for you to mount...but it'll be to defend this position, we cannot afford to risk it at the front lines." "Alright...I'll be getting there soon..."
Xiang waited then saw a small group of rebels moving, thinking they're so stealthy. Xiang fired off a few rounds and a couple went down. At the sound of the shots the Chinese troops in a nearby building followed his example and soon enough the small group was desecrated. The town was taking heavy fire everywhere. The infantry were moving slowly from building to building, eliminated any resistance. What was odd was that they were here to liberate this town but there was no one to liberate. There were no civilians as far as Xiang could see.
Vic entered the building following his comrades. It was emptied quick. American tanks began to draw in a little closer. It only took an hour and as far as the two groups could see the town was fully cleared. "American satellites have reported a GLA base near here. Move in and destroy it." Orders buzzed through on the radio. The Chinook was called in to give the remaining rangers another lift.
"Two. Three. Four." She took her binoculars out and looked through them. She still had a few targets in her range. "Five. Six. Seven." K.C. paused to look up at the buildings. She closed her eyes for a moment and tried to remember what she had seen through the binoculars. In a clear image, she remembered and moved a bit to her right. "Eight. Nine. Ten." She counted the tenth bullet she fired and then moved more into the town. "Moving in. I've cleared it from my last position." She reported in.
K.C. moved into the town and shot down GLA soldiers she saw. After some time she took cover behind a random car, and looked around. It seemed as if the town was fully cleared. No more GLA and no civilians. "That's odd..." She said. There was no one to save and only people to kill. She thought that it was strange.
"American satellites have reported a GLA base near here. Move in and destroy it."
The orders were heard clearly in her ear piece and she nodded. When she figured that most of the GLA forces probably went back to protect their base or were killed, she leaned against the car and rested for a bit. There were now only a few gunshots here and there, but it seemed that none of them where near her, so she was a little happy. "Gotta keep my guard up though...They could still be here."
The building burned with a dark purple glow, and the shelling stopped momentarily, as the GLA forces shifted to the MiGs. Austin shifted in his spot, prone, behind a low-lying brick wall. He reloaded the clip, counting bullets he filtered into the half-empty sleeve. "American satellites have reported a GLA base near here. Move in and destroy it." Everyone around Austin looked around and rolled their eyes, it was gonna be a long day. The Chinook lowered itself onto Terra Firma, and sighing, everyone eased their way in. They all touched up their face paint, now smeared and melted away. Under the rangers, the armor column moved in, tailed by Inferno Cannons, Tomahawks, and Nuke Cannons. Around the base of operations was the biggest wall of Stingers Austin had ever seen. Too bad they had snipers on the ground, and siege weapons that were already firing. Coming out of holes littered through the ground were GLA forces. Looks like they were waiting for the attack. He winced as a huge truck drove head-on into the line of siege units, tearing them all to shreds. More GLA, with little red belts, ran every which way. A quad Cannon pushed out of the tunnel next, and trained itself on air units. Willie stumbled out of his seat and looked over Austin's shoulder. The cannons turned their direction. The pilot started shouting, and the men all ran for the parachutes on the wall. Austin didn't make it to the pack labeled for himself. A single loud grunt, and the body of the chopper was perforated in bullet holes. More kept pouring in as Austin ran and ducked behind the seats. not much to stop the hail of bullets, but it felt good to be behind something. The chopper went down, spiraling down in a fit of fire and metal. Austin kept ducked, as the opposite side of the helicopter slammed into the ground. He crawled out, and laid in the cool soft sand. Everything went black.
Austin woke up. Something was over his head. There was a bright light behind it. The cover came off. A man, dark-tinted skin and raggedy black hair, stood in front of him. Austin sat in a daze. The dark-skinned man took his rifle off his shoulder, and slammed the butt of it into the side of Austin's head. he then went to another American, and took the blind off his head, before beating him. There was a lineup of six soldiers. Austin counted the skull cracks. Then he turned around. There was another man with a camcorder. A third man was holding cue cards. "الولايات المتحدة والصين الكافرين. اننا نجري هؤلاء الرجال اسيرة بوصفها جوائز ، في الليلة الماضية ونتيجة للموقف المواجهة. ارجو ان يدرك الخطأ الاليمه التي بذلتموها في تحدي ونحن قد. من قبل منتصف اليوم وغدا ، هؤلاء الرجال ربما يكون قد مات ، او على وشك الموت. وأمل لارسال اشرطه الفيديو الى اسرهم. يرجى النظر في هذه الرسالة على انها تحذي" The man with the rifle was vocalizing the cards, though no one had any idea what he said.
It all seemed to be rolling so well together. With most of the frontline destroyed, the GLA looked like they had no defenses...and the allied forces moved forward. Suddenly, it happened; the terrorists had been waiting for this. It would be a destructive ambush. First the bomb trucks destroyed the entire enemy siege line. Contrary to what intel might have said, no nuke cannons were deployed, thank goodness, or everyone would have been in trouble. However, the inferno cannons and tomahawk launchers were no more. The allied front line was under threat from terrorists and other bomb trucks, while the air was kept hot by a Quad Cannon. The allies might actually be pushed back, from this desperate GLA ambush. But Youmei was not about to allow that. Already, the masive four engined Chinese bomber was en route, and when it arrived at the drop zone, it let loose it's cargo. Some allies would be caught in the explosion, but it was a risk that needed to be taken. Luckily, it seemed allied casualties were minimal, and the GLA suffered heavy. Two MiGs were on their way back to seal the holes. This time, Youmei would warn. "All forces stay away from the GLA holes." she transmitted, as the MiGs fired at their targets. The fire incinerated the wooden supports, and the tunnels collapsed. The Quad Cannon that had surfaced, gunned down one of the MiGs before it could turn around to fly away.
Olivia manuvered her helicopter behind the Quad Cannon, to get the jump on him, and when locked, fired her missile rack. The Cannon was destroyed in little time, and Olivia was about to fly back to safe ground on the allies side, but a stinger had gotten locked onto her tail, and collided. Once again, she was bested by a stinger, as her aircraft spiraled into the ground. At a much higher altitude, it would do more damage than her first crash...which was proven, when she felt agonizing pain on her right ankle, likely, it was sprained. She had crashed behind enemy lines...and she could see figures outside her cockpit, were definately not allied. She remembered being shouted at, and then being struck in the head, before everything went black. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ She woke up later...to the sight of just a brown front. Something was over her head, and she felt her wrists bound behind her, and one ankle tied to either leg of the chair she was sitting on. She felt the bag the ripped off...and saw several other American soldiers wit her in the same position. A man in the desert garbs stood before them, with some flashcards or something. What was going on here?
Vic felt that usual but beloved queezy feeling when the helicopter lifted. A few minutes passed before a machine gun could be heard, it was AA fire. Vic couldn't believe how powerful the bullets were as they ripped through the armor plating of the Chinook. He ran for his parachute and got to it just in time. The helicopter tipped and he fell out. He was able to bring out the parachute in time and he watched as the chopper crashed not too far. The first thing on Vic's mind was to get out of dodge, playing hero wont work so far behind enemy lines.
Xiang was picked up by one of the remaining transports. It was time for the assault and the battle was quick. The artillary were destroyed, all but a few tomahawks and the GLA pushed back. However there were still many crusaders on the field and synched with the MiGs that flew in and hit them every five to ten minutes, the allies began to push forward again. The artillary that remained had pulled back but was coming back into the fray to bombard more buildings. First thing to aim for was the AA guns..
After a while, the town was reported as clear and she was told to get to a certain shop. She went and met with some soldiers before being transported to the GLA base. When she was dropped off, K.C. looked at the longest line of stinger sites and tunnels she had ever seen. "Shit...That is fucking crazy." "Shit is right... They're telling us to move in..." "Damn..." K.C. held her breath and moved in. "Taking out those quads..." She reached a 'safe' spot and got into position. The woman raised the scope to her eye, found her target and shot. She did this a couple more times before finally being spotted. "A GLA sniper is looking at your direction, Cross!" "What?"
K.C. hit the ground quickly and hid in the grass. The GLA sniper had gotten ready to slow and had allowed K.C. to dodge his bullet. She crawled to another spot to get away from the sniper's sight and kept low. "I'm still breathing..." She said, still afraid to get up. "That sunnavabitch nealy got me...Probably would have gotten me in the chest..." "Move out of there... I think they have a radar van some where..."
The man with the cue cards flipped them over and set them against the rust colored wall behind him. The camera stopped rolling, and the narrator turned his back to Austin, instead chastising the man with the cards. A man next to Austin leaned in and whispered "Where the hell are we?" "I don't know, I was knocked out, same as you." Austin breathed back. "You don't have GPS or anything?" "They found mine, Wonderboy. What other idiotic ideas you got?" "I have a butterfly knife in my sock for occasions like this. I can cut us out, and we can run for it." "Unless you got a thumb down there, Einstein, I can't see this going anywhere." "I'm damn sorry for wanting to get out." "I'm damn sorry for waking up. Now listen to me. We are going to listen to these men. They have our weapons, except for your magical knife that turns the lot of us bulletproof, they have control, they have us." "Well, what's your plan, High-and-Mighty?" "Dunno. I improvise. But dying isn't too far up my 'to-do' list, so I'm gonna not write that in." "And you call me Wonderboy?" The man with the rifle shot around. The other man said this a bit loud. The GLA looked at both Americans, and silenced them both with a firm crack to the top of their skulls.
Later, Austin awoke. The light burned his eyes; He sat with his eyes clenched shut for some seconds before easing them open. He was in a cell. the door was a heavy metal. His ears were ringing, and his legs were numb. Outside a small window, nine feet off the ground, a man got behind a shoulder mounted missile system and faced the valley away from his makeshift prison.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Willie jumped off the Chinook and pulled the chute. It seemed like everyone made it out alright, so he ran forward and ducked behind a rock. He began firing at the funny little men with the dynamite belts. Suddenly, it dawned on him... He pissed himself. They continued to fire, and even gained ground. Willie raised his hand, and expected someone to show up and slap it, but no one was there. Austin wasn't there. Shit.
KC continued to crawl around. She didn't get up because she feared getting shot by a GLA sniper. In her mind, getting killed by a sniper was the scariest thing. Most of the time the person being targetted don't know if they are being watched and because of that, the person would never know when the sniper would strike. She was a pathfinder, but when it was her being the one watched, she could say that she didn't like it.
"I see cover." She whispered to herself. In her ear piece, she could hear the other pathfinders trying to get the stingers down, but it seemed that they were also in the view of GLA snipers. Those radar vans were being a pain in the ass...KC moved some tall grass from in front of her and saw a big rock with a guy already behind it.
She got up and quickly took cover beside him. She reloaded her rifle and took a quick look at him. "...This will take a while..." KC muttered, as she checked her ammo. She wondered how long it would take for her ammo to run out and when she would have to switch to her side arm. The thought of her rushing in with her pistol seemed very stupid, so the next time she had the chance, she would borrow another gun from a fallen soldier.
