Jack thought hard and passed a manhole during their little escapade. "This may sound crazy at first but I think we should hit the sewers. From the looks of it these things aren't smart enough to open a manhole and worst case scenario is that they'd follow behind us, but they wouldn't be in front of us. And judging by their speed, they wont catch up." He felt mildly confident. The only outstanding issue was that reptilian beast they encountered minutes ago. If there are monsters like that and the thing with the tongue, who knows what the sewer would hold. But it was true that the sewers must be more empty than the streets which have armies of those undead creeps.

She reluctantly looked down at the passage to the sewer. Then back behind her at the streets. True that it would be difficult to move any where up here with hordes of the undead but what else may lurk under the murky waters below? Sighing heavily, Sola knew they would go down the hole regardless of what they may say or protest. It did seem to be the safest area of all. Yet there was that under lying thought in the back of her mind that the sewers could be possibly more dangerous then up here.
Sola urged Jack to help her to open the manhole cover. Trying desperately to open the little bugger. After they finally opened the damn thing she looked at her friend.
" I suppose so. But we shouldn't think that it could be any more safer down there. Right?" she hesitantly asked. Taking another look she sighed once more before slowly climbing down the ladder to the funky smelling tunnel. The last foot or two before the ladder cut off didn't look all that great but the water wasn't terribly high. Mid-calf it appeared to be. She jumped down and took out her flashlight and looked around. So far no demons.
" Looks clear to me. Come on down!" she half shouted.

"This may sound crazy at first, but I think we should hit the swers. From the looks of it these things aren't smart enough to open a manhole and worst case scenario is that they'd follow behind us, but they wouldn't be in front of us. And judging from their speed, they won't catch up."
Sewer? Manhole? What was Jack saying? Jay was a police officer and when he decided to take this job, he had never signed up to go walking through sewer waters. But he had his little sister in front of him. "Jillian, how about it?" His sister didn't answer, but he heard Sola.
Jack and Sola opened the manhole and then Sola said, "I suppose so. But we shouldn't think that it could be any more safer down there. Right?" Then Sola climbed down. "Looks clear to me. Come on down!"
"You can't be kidding me..." His sister finally said. Jay turned to Jillian shook his head. "I seriously don't want to go down there...I mean... what could be down there?" The things on top were monsters and she knew what was on top, but she didn't know what was below. She really didn't want to make a wrong choice...
Jay patted Jillian's head and decided that he would go down next. "Tell you what...If I yell that means something's got me and don't come down, but if I don't...it's safe enough." He climbed down the manhole and landed in the water with a splash. He made a face as he felt the water in his shoes. "This is disgusting..."

Jack assisted Sola through and when she commented Jack could only shrug and shake his head. Then she went down. Jack looked up and his look changed to impatience as Jay tried to get his sister down. Jack looked behind him and noticed the mob were still moving quite robotically towards them. Jay went down and his moan of discontent made Jack flash a smile. He looked over to Jillian who was still hesitant. "Look, we don't have time, it's either in or become dinner. If something's down there at least we can become desert. I don't know about you, but I'd take the chance of possible escape." He persuaded. he didn't know if it worked and didn't listen to any debate over it but she went in. Jack followed after, making sure the close the manhole. His own expression soured at the smell. "Someone ate chili..." He giggled without much humor. "Lets go." Beating could be heard on the manhole but it didn't budge.

Once they were all down in the dank, and gross water. Sola looked about each way. someone had said off-handedly once that most people choose the direction of a path by there dominant hand. For her left.
" So do we go left or right?" she asked her party.

"Look, we don't have time, it's either in or become dinner." Jack started.
Jillian responded with, "Well there is a possibility of being dinner down there too."
"If something's down there at least we can become desert."
"Is that supposed to make me feel better?"
Jack didn't answer and instead said, "I don't know about you, but I'd take the chance of possible escape." No, it didn't work, but a few inhuman screams and the louder zombie groans did. Jillian quickly climbed down and landed in the sewer water. Each step she took was uncomfortable and she hated it.It smelled like shit too. She watched Jack close the manhole and sighed.
"It's dark and smells bad..."
"Someone ate chili..." Jack giggled and Jay coughed. "Lets go." Banging sounded from above and Jillian made her way to her brother. It was scaring her. Jay grabbed her by the arm to tell her he was there and then patted her on the head.
"So do we go left or right?" Sola asked.
"I don't know.." Jay said. "If there was a middle path I'd take it..." He moved toward the left and listened for a moment. He didn't hear any screams, moans, groans, or anything else strange coming from the left, so he assumed it was safe. "I say the left... How about the rest of the group? Pick quick... 'cause I don't want to sit here listening to that banging."
"I don't mind which way we go... I just don't want to stay here." Jillian said.

Jack looked to his left and right. "I dunno. But I go by the rule of thumb. But I'm a stubborn bastard, I say we go right.." He said, disagreeing. He liked going by the "right" way. Then again, any way would be good right now and he wasn't going to waste time arguing. "Fine, left." He said and turned that way to a quick walk. He didn't know if the undead were capable of getting through the manhole but after seeing that demon, anything was possible.

She slowly followed her other companions, she argued a little bit with her male teammates that she would round out the group but she was positive she could hand it. Well.... enough anyways. Sola glanced back once in a while to make sure nothing was coming but from the way the sewer lines were connected you could probably hear anything coming from miles away.
With her gun in hand she ventured forth into an unknown territory.
' Joy' she thought sullenly.

“I really don’t like it in here.”
“I never was the fan of smelly water either…Don’t like rats too…” Jay said. The sound of the rats and the water surrounded them, but it didn’t bother Jay too much. Right now, the only thing he didn’t want to get near to was another one of those undead things, but if his guesses were correct, then they could be everywhere. “Hehe… From what I’ve seen, I think those things can climb up and down stairs… It would suck if there were magical stairs leading into the sewers…”
“Mmhm…” Jillian nodded and followed after her brother. “Say…where are we going anyways? Where are we supposed to even go?”

Jack began to move a little bit slower, when one of them asked why, one of the females he thinks, Jack just shrugged. "I thought I heard something." He paused and pointed his gun to the sewer water. "Down there." He felt uneasy but maybe it was just a rat who fell in. The group continued at a more quicker pace until they got to another ladder leading to another manhole. "So... Should we take this one or continue to the next stop?"

" This should be close to Oak crescent... thats pretty close to the center of town..." her voice sort of drifted off. She didn't know what to do or what could happen to them but either way their options were rather limited to a choice few.
" How about we try to go farther in and take a turn or something to get closer to the edge of town or something?" she asked her teammates.

"This should be close to Oak crescent...that's pretty close to the center of town..." Jay touched the wall and when he felt that it was ok to lean on, he leaned against it. He then turned to Sola and just listened to her. "How about we try to go farther in and take a turn or something to get closer to the edge of town or something?"
"You think we can escape at the edge of the town?" Jay then looked up at the manhole. "Center of town, huh? It'd probably be a bitch to go through all those things up there... I think we should try getting close to the edge of town..."

Jack listened and nodded. He thought it was amazing that Sola could tell where they were. Jack was good with the town but he didn't know the sewer system. Made him wonder a bit on how she knew so well. In the end he nodded. "Alright. I guess we'll keep on truckin'." With that he began to walk and he stopped dead while pointing his gun at the waters. "Okay, I definitely heard something..." Jack knew if there were things up there that was unexplainable then there had to be things down here as well. "We thought it was safe going down here, but how do we know it's safe. That demon thing that attacked Jay was beyond this world. Sewers have infestations of species that we probably never even knew could be down here. I don't know about you guys, but I'm starting to feel that the sewers may not be such a great idea..." Ripples appeared in the water as if something were moving under them. There couldn't be nothing more than rats and bugs right? No, Jack knew that other things inhabit these diseased waters...

" We agreed that this route might be a 'little' safer than being up top. Be on your guard, and do hesitate to attack if you see it necessary. For all we know it could be more dangerous than up top. But seeing that our options are rather limited just suck it up and be a man".
Good little speech. Should at least shut them up for a few moments while she stood still and listened for a few moments. She heard it, water swishing around.
Sola gripped her handgun tightly, her pointer finger trained on the trigger.

Jay told Jillian to quiet herself and he did the same. The two silently listened around and then they heard it. Something else was in the water with them. "Guys..." "Shut up, Jill.." "No, guys..." "Shh.." "Guys...I think I felt something..." Jay opened his mouth to say something back to Jillian, but what had escape his mouth could not be heard. A large splash sounded over his words and before he knew it, his sister had fallen in the water. He went over to where she had been and searched for her with his hands, but he couldn't find her.
"Jillian?" His hands moved through the water, but he still couldn't find her. "Jillian?!" Jay called out her name once more, but he received no reply. Instead, from the corner of his eye, he saw her hand come up from the water. When he turned to look, he saw her holding on to the pipe and trying not to get dragged away. "I'm coming!"
