"Oh---" "Quiet, Jay." They had to be or else the large group of things would see them. The undead seemed to be attracted to a commercial building, and Jay knew that the two had to be in there if the undead hadn't banged down the door.Jay took Jillian's hand and they went the long way around the group and into an alley. They climbed a fire escape and got up onto a roof adjacent to the commercial building's roof, but the problem was that the gap between the roof tops was about a four feet long jump.
Jay jumped the gap without any haste and easily, but Jillian on the other hand, was having a tiny problem. "Jay..." She started, but couldn't finish as she stared at the ground below her. Her eyes widened and her pulse quickened. Jay urged her to move, but her ears blocked out his voice. She felt as if she were getting higher and higher from the ground, but suddenly, an inhuman screech filled the air and in fright, she jumped.
He barely managed to grab her hand, and to her surprised he pulled her up effortlessly. "I told you I would grab you." He grinned and Jillian cocked her eyebrow. He was the kind of cop who liked to eat donuts and get a bit chubby on them; she guessed that his chubby-ness was just muscles like he had said. He grinned and flexed his muscles and Jillian gave him the 'you look like a moron' look. Jay shrugged as if nothing happened and went over to a door.
Without a moment of thinking, he kicked open a door, or more so, he smashed open a door. The door had been split in the center and he had to clear out some bits before entering. Who knew how loud he could have been, but Jillian knew well that it was loud enough to attract the friendly neighborhood's Spiderman's arch enemy's look alike, or what it looked like to be, the pinkish, redish monster, the carnage look alike. The only differece with this monster was that it had an exposed brain, but it obviously didn't matter.
She had seen the monster when she had turned and waited for Jay to enter. He had his back turned and she was looking outside, and all of the sudden a big jar of ugly jumped onto the roof. Jillian had screamed out his name, and he turned around so quickly that he knocked her off balance and off the top step of the stairs. Jay didn't have time to react to her falling, so he did the 'next best thing' and fought off against the Licker.
Jillian tumbled down the stairs, but managed not to hit her head. She landed with a thump at the bottom of the set of stairs. Her body was aching, and probably bruised, and she even felt like she had gotten a few cuts. She slowly opened her eyes and turned to see a little child, looking at her, or near her. She followed his eyes and saw a shiny coin. Her hand went over and she slammed it onto the coin heavily and moaned. That hurt. "Here, kiddo." She said, quietly, still trying to regain the air that had been thrusted out of her lungs.
She held out the shiny coin and gently placed it in his hands. "You shouldn't be in this mess..." Jillian said sadly and looked up at the top of the steps. Jay was still fighting, but right now, she couldn't help him; she was still a bit shooken up from the big fall. Jillian jerked her head towards a man's voice when he said, "Huh? Michael!?" She sat there for a moment, trying to understand everything that was happening, before saying, "Is your name Michael?" Jillian took him for too young to answer and replied to the man's call, "He's over here!"

The name hallowed the woman. She stood there dumbstruck, hyperventalating. ' No it couldn't be' she thought. But oh that one thought sought the darkest corners of her mind, embedding every horror she could think of. She told them to leave the city immediately, why hadn't they left in time? " Micheal!" she yelled. She violently shoved Jack aside, running quickly. ' Why! Why-why didn't I notice it. I dressed him this morning. They were the exact same clothing' she was in panic. " I won't lose you" she whispered.
When the child came into view her heart leaped for joy. The small boy slowly turned around, his entire world was back. Honestly for what two year old doesn't think that their parents are the only ones who mattered? He smiled gleefully. He put his arms out, he wanted to be hugged. She grabbed his, and held him close as she moved in a 360. " Micheal" she whispered. She petted his hair; tears escaped her, flowing freely down her face. " Micheal, never scare me again", Sola murmured. " Mommy" he squeaked.

Jack was about to go where the woman yelled but was curious as to why Sola was so quick. As he walked up to the stairs and saw the tenderness he knew. 'Wow, a lot of things changed..' He thought to himself then quickly moved passed the mother and child and addressed the woman as he pointed his gun up the stairs. "How'd you get down here? Were you hiding? Was there anything following you?" He asked, his questions coming out quickly.

"How'd you get down here? Were you hiding? Was there anything following you?"
Jillian had expected him to ask her if she was ok, but obviously, he decided to fire questions at her that would help ensure his well-being for the moment. She opened her eyes and saw Jack, and read his name tag. So this was the guy Jay wanted to leave off and kill. She thought she understood why Jay wanted to kill him, and his first impression on her wasn't the best, but then again first impressions were frauds most of the time.
Jillian made no move to respond to him, but then noticed that Jay's gunshots were no more and that it was silent again. She was going to hate herself for making the move to get up, but she didn't hate herself as much as she did for leaving Jay alone. Jillian slowly stood up and closed her eyes shut. Pain was surging up her leg like hell and that, obviously, was not a good sign. She might of broken something on her long way down the stairs. It was a miracle, that she survived, without getting something life threatening.
"Shoot...Jay." Jillian mumbled, looking at the broken door at the top of the stairs. She grabbed the side railing, and used it for support to climb up the stairs, but at the second step, she stopped due to the pain she felt with each step with her right leg. Urgency was beginning to rise, and she began to panick even more. Jay was going to die and she couldn't help her big brother. Warm tears rolled down her cheeks as she stared at the door. "Jay!"
The carnage copy-cat had two bullets in its head, and had avoided three bullets, as if they were nothing. Jay was reloading his handgun, but as he did, the carnage's long, pink lance-like tongue shot out of its mouth. Its tongue wrapped around his two wrists, in a strong, but slippery grip. It was digusting for Jay, and he didn't like how the monster's saliva was a light red color. This thing had just eaten something earlier...
"Jay!"
Jay held his spot, as the licker tried to pull him towards it, and turned his head to the broken door. "I'm in a tight bind! Help!" He called out, still trying to break free. Jay was doomed and if no one came to his rescue, he could become the next meal, or even worst, the newest addition to the undead. "Hurry up, will ya?!" He shouted. This thing was strong alright.

Jack heard the pleas coming from above and he gently pushed passed the woman and began running quickly up the stairs, taking in two or three steps at a time, almost tripping on a few. Finally he was up. It was another one of those things. Jack took aim and kept only one eye open as he pinpointed the area of tongue. He decided to shoot it closer to its head so that it's tongue length would be reduced greatly. The thing didn't even seem to notice him. He fired three shots which broke the tongue. The thing screeched and before Jack could get anymore shots it shot off and jumped off the building. Jack ran to Jay and grabbed him by the arm and helped him to his feet. "You ok?" He asked, inspecting to see if Jay was bitten at all.

"I'm fine, but what about my sister!? She fell down them stairs and I'm guessing that she probably got hurt. Tell me my baby sister's alright." Jay wiped his hands on his uniform and stared at Jack waiting for an answer. He had pushed her by accident and was completely at fault if she had gotten hurt. Man, so much for being her hero and her big brother. Big brothers were born before their siblings so they could protect them. He was sure stinking up his job.
"Jack, please."

"I don't know. She didn't seem to be able to climb the stairs well but I didn't get a chance to look at her because I came up here to help you." He said, looking through the door. "Let's go see her." He said and decided to let Jay enter first for fear that Jay may push him down the stairs for anxiousness to see his sister and might go a bit faster than Jack and push him. Also, he wanted to make sure nothing else would end up popping up, especially if that thing is still alive. At least it lost it's main form of attack, it still has its massive claws and teeth though.

Jay nodded at Jack, and turned to the door. He jumped through the shattered remains, and ran down the stairs to be greeted by his sister. "Jay..." She said, barely getting up with her uninjured leg. She hugged him tightly and gave a sigh of relief. Jillian had thought of him as dead, or even the undead. Either way she didn't want to think of him that way and thankfully, he was safe. She was afraid that he would be gone from her and she didn't want to be the one to explain to their sister that Jay died in an interesting way.
Jay wrapped his arms around her and kissed her on the forehead, trying to calm her down. He wasn't the one who use to calm her down all the time, it was their sister, but he did remember what there sister would say to calm Jillian down. "Hey, look to the bright side. I can buy you a Sunday later." He whispered into her ear and she looked up. "I'm not twelve anymore."

Jack gave a small glance at Jay. 'Would he have done the same for me? Most likely not, he would've left me to get eaten by that thing.' Jack shook his head and then moved to inspect the barricade. It seemed to be holding quite finely but they would have to leave this building soon. There wasn't much of anything in the building and the roof is exposed. The zombies that had tried to get in previously were still braying uselessly, though the barricades wouldn't last forever.

"I believe getting out of here is our concern. We saw the outside...and it's jammed back with those things, and unless they're smart enough to climb a ladder, I don't think they can get to use....And it would be best if we do it quickly, right?" The whole time she had been staring at the mother and child and sighed. Obviously, the mother was fully capable of surviving and such, but alone the child had no match, and everything evil was put against the boy. If these things were already too much on her, imagine what these things might be doing to the child. If she ever survived this hell, she knew damn well that she would be having nightmares until she died.
Jillian sat down on a stair and closed her eyes. She was afraid, expecting her demise right around the corner, tired, and ready to curse to the heavens. Even though Jillian didn't like to fight, or war, or anything like that, this was the kind of situation where there was no option of peace. There was no forever peace in the world, and this stupid night had prooved it. Death was suppose to be the eternal peace, or something like that, but obviously, some genius had found a way to break that. Peace was nothing, and no one could go through life without a problem. Although you got some time of peace, it would always be broken, even if you tried to stop the inevitable from happening.
She cupped her hands around her mouth as she thought and closed her eyes. "You think that talking to them...will work?" She muttered. The world was more complicated than that and it would be hard to simply use words. Jillian sighed and looked up at Jack and Jay. "How are we going to get out of this place? And then, How are we going to get out of this Hell hole?" She was freaking out, and the three people from the RPD seemed to be taking this situation calmly.
"I don't know what to do..." She said quietly, staring back at the ground. Jillian brought one knee close to her and hugged it, while resting her head on the knee. She was crying, but trying to make it less obvious. It felt as if an invisble force was holding her in place, for she didn't want to move and couldn't move. As she tried to say more, her voice wouldn't reach her mouth and would get stuck in her throat like a big lump. Jillian knew that she was crying a lot, and it was no longer something you hide. Her cheeks were turning into a slight pink and the tears from her eyes would not stop. She could easily hear herself own sobs. A simple phrase repeated in her mind. "I don't want to die."
Jay had watched his sister sit and think in utter silence. He wanted to ask her what she was thinking about, because whenever she did sit down and was quiet for sometime, she had to be deep in thought or something. He tapped his foot on the floor, making a steady beat, until Jillian had looked up at him and Jack. Jay turned away from her, signaling that Jack would answer, and she turned to the STARS captain.
Jay stared up at the ceiling, while leaning against the wall, waiting for the Captain's answer. He guessed that he would probably never get to be the sucessful buisness man he wanted to be, and he guess that he would never have a kid to raise, but his life goals were nothing compared to the goals he had now. He wanted to get out and live. That was the only goal he had and he wasn't thinking of making more until he was sure that he was out and on safe ground. Again, he began to tap his feet against the hard floor to produce a steady beat. He was imitating the his heart beats, for an odd reason.
"Can you respond now, STARS captain...?" He asked, crossing his arms, and slightly turning his head to look at him. When Jay wasn't acting like a moron, or being a lazy person, he actually looked scary, and looked fully capable of beating down anyone who stood in his way. He probably wouldn't just be some random cop assigned desk duty if he had chosen to be serious earlier.
As Jillian began to cry again, he just stood there watching. She wasn't going to listen to him this time. Jillian was just going to cry for a while and probably get over it later, so he wasn't too worried. "Well?" He asked impatiently over the sobs of his sister. "I think we all want an answer..." Still, he ignored his crying sister and stood there. This was like the time that their father had left them. She had cried hours a way, but in the end she ended up not caring for the man anymore. Jillian ended up avoiding any trace of him.

Jack gave a glare at Jay. 'I should've left him to get mauled by that demon.' Jack crossed his arms and nodded. "Raccoon City is large, I doubt we wouldn't be able to get out by simple transportation. If we can hotwire a car we might be able to escape. If that's not a possibility then there's a helipad on top of the roof of the hospitol and possibly a helicopter. There's also the train station." Jack explained then went over to the girl whose name he fought to remember. He went on his knees and smiled. "It's ok. There's no need to cry. We're going to make it out of this. They wont hurt you, I'll make sure of it." He said gently and calmingly.

"Good to know." He simply said to Jack as he finished his explanation. The man then moved over to his sister and watched that as well. When he heard his words, he silently laughed at him. If there was something Jillian didn't like, it was being treated like a child, especially from a person she hardly knew. Most likely, there would be butting heads with the man and his sister and he could tell because of the splendid first impression she had of Jack.
"It's ok. There's no need to cry. We're going to make it out of this. They wont hurt you, I'll make sure of it." Jack had said gently and calmingly.
Jillian wiped her eyes and looked at Jack. She sat there staring at him, and did nothing more, but stare. Jay's thumping foot stopped and Jillian turned away from Jack again. She stood up and tested her injured leg, and made a quiet sound, before turning to him with a nasty look in her eye. "I'm not a child and it should be quite obvious, moron."
Jay walked away from the two to laugh, but he still continued to listen to his sister. He knew that she would get over it quickly. Everytime she broke down, she would get over it in time, and this time it wasn't him who was getting yelled at, so he just watched and enjoyed
"You are one of the stupidest man I've ever met. You think you can save everyone? You think you can protect everyone, hero? Let me tell you something, asshole. This isn't time to be playing as if it were some GI Joe game! Or whatever the hell you people play. They won't hurt me? Ok...but I'm not so sure about you."

Jack shrugged. "And yet my playing GI Joe saved your brother." Inwardly Jack was feeling success. Using reverse psycology works in such cases, make her feel childish and she'll prove she's not. Now that she was pumped and ready the group can finally make plans. Jack folded his arms again. "Even if I die I would die helping you all. If I wanted to live so bad I wouldn't have made it my aspiration to save people now would I?" He asked calmly then smirked before turning away from her and walking to where Jay was. "Now, what's the plan. Car, chopper, or train?"

"And yet my playing GI Joe saved your brother." There was a long silence, and she glared at him in that time. "Even if I die I would die helping you all. If I wanted to live so bad I wouldn't have made it my aspiration to save people now would I?" He was another one of those people who thought themselve to be the heroes of all time. It was nice to know that they were people like him, but in this moment in time, she couldn't stand him. It was most likely because he had treated her like a child. Jillian cracked her knuckles and walked over to the man with a slight smile, and tapped him lightly on the shoulder, waiting for him to turn around.
"I dunno. You're the captain, GI Joe." Jay said, trying to stifle his laugh.

Jack didn't bother to turn, he wasn't about to get into another arguement, if she didn't want to be treated like a child then she shouldn't act like one, fighting is one of those things. Everyone seemed against Jack but he didn't care, now wasn't a time to feel hated. Though the more he helps the angrier they get, Jack almost felt like laughing about how screwed up that is. He didn't let it go farther then that. He put his hand to his chin and began thinking up a plan of action. Finding a car didn't seem as safe, yet finding an air vehicle didn't seem easy either. A train seemed the easiest finding but what if they're all stopped up or crashed. This wasn't going to be easy yet if he didn't think up something soon then they weren't going to have enough time to do anything.
