Jillian sat there and smiled even more. She knew what she would do later, but right now, that little attack of her's was on the bottom of her priority list. She moved to the front of the building slowly, hearing moans and groans. She moved to a seemingly normal window, and peered through it. "Empty..." She muttered, turning to walk away from it. The banging at the front had long stopped and of course, she wondered why...
"Jay! Back door! Back door!" She hollered.
Jay looked to Jack and cocked his eyebrow. "Did you cover the back door?"

"This is a commercial building. The back door has got to be on the other side. There's at least two other doors they have to break through." Jack said, looking at the door he hasn't been in yet. "Besides, I haven't had the time since I had to save you." Jack looked at the door and already the banging started. To make matters worse the banging at the front also began making there no way to go but back up to the roof. "We have to go back up to the roof, there's got to be something up there we can use." He said and remembered the demon. But it was either face that one thing or a good amount of zombies.

The young mother held her boy closely to her chest, smoothing his hair. She was calm and collected, Sola would miss her parents.... but at least they would be at peace. She walked behind them slowly, stopping now and then to focus on their pity arguments. " And if there isn't Jack?" she asked her friend. It had been a long time since she had last spoken. " What then? Will we be torn to pieces in the frenzy out there?" she questioned, her head motioning towards the outside.

Jack turned his head to Sola. "Well.. It's obvious there's got to be SOMETHING up there. These two didn't just appear up there and they couldn't have gotten through the front door because they would've barricaded it and we wouldn't have been able to get in." Jack explained then smiled. "I never thought it'd be your child." She never told Jack about having a child and this came as a shock for him but he kept optimistic despite the constant rudeness of the others. He didn't care, he would stay true to his ways.

" They could have easily broken though a window" she countered, as always she tried to rationalize things. Her gaze slowly slipped downwards, she just had to smile. She barely had time for him, until today. She only wished it didn't come down to these cicumstances. " Yeah... sometimes I can't beleive it either. But he's mine, and he's always making me smile" she whispered. Tears were welling up in her eyes, it was a bitter-sweet moment.

"Well fine. If you have any better ideas about getting out please share them." Jack said then looked at the kid. Just a few minutes ago the kid was crying annoyingly and Jack would've looked upon the child in annoyance, but now his gaze was respectful. Knowing that anymore suggestions Jack had would be countered with both smart and stupid comments he decided to stay quiet for the time being and check on the situation in the back. He left the room they were in and moved towards the back curiously.

Jillian covered her ears as the banging continued again. Being outside had scared her enough, but knowing that you were possibly trapped in a building with no where to go and surrounded by inhuman creatures, scared her even more. She had been too close to the creatures, and had probably been in about perhaps five, or so, near death experiences. All of them had just happened in one night, and this didn't help her become more alert and expectant of what was to happen. Instead, she seemed to become more jumpy and more scared. Jillian didn't want to use a gun, and yet, she was forced into using a weapon of violence against the monsters.
The guns and the creatures scared her and this was going to be a bad mix. Jillian could already tell that she would probably jump at the sound of a gunshot and maybe freeze up at the sight of a more gruesome monster. If this spread, like she thought it did, then even animals would be affected, too, which was an even worse case for her. Jillian guessed the animals being more aggressive and massive in sizes, but the thought led to one of the animals she feared the most, Elephants. If the 'friendly' giants scared her to death, then imagine what the zombified version would do. "Oh...no..." She quietly said to herself, thinking of a zombified elephant. Her fear of elephants all began when she first visited the zoo, and her trip was called, "The Peanut Incident."
"I don't think we may be able to go and escape from the rooftops...We had to jump a wide gap to get here...and it may be hard for your child to get across. We can't lose anyone, and it would be best to stick together for this type of situation because I think we have a better chance of survival and so we can help protect your kid." Jay looked at the kids face and smiled. He loved little children and he hoped to some day have children of his own. If he had a daughter, he would name her Amanda. Jay still didn't have a name for a son, but at the moment, he didn't have time to think about that kind of stuff.
Jay waited in the room with the two women and the child. He stayed there for extra protection and because he didn't care about Jack too much. Of course, he knew that they would need all the help they could get to get out, but Jay was still a little 'sad' from being called a coward. Jay would have normally ignored Jack's words, but when it involved family, it was quite the other way around. While he waited for the man to return, or not, he reloaded his gun, and checked the front. It seemed as if some of the undead had went around to look for another opening, so it was possible that they could of wandered to the back. Good thing they were reminded.

Jack checked the back and noticed that the back door's hinges were intact properly and that the constant banging and groaning were getting excessive. He quickly began moving things to block the door but knew it wouldn't be long before they got through. Jack shook his head and made his way back to the others. "One word... Screwed." He said as he leaned against the wall, waiting for them to decide on the plan of action.

" Could we create some kind of bridge or something then travel across it from one side of the roof top edge to another?" asked the young mother. For now this seemed the most plausable answer to her. Sola was with child, so that make jumping the gap a little difficult to do. She looked at her new companions for their insight to her suggestion, hopefully it would be possible of they would come up with something more easily done.

"It shouldn't be too hard. The gap is about four to five feet...and while I was running down here...tumbling, I suppose...I saw some beams of wood, but I can't say they are stable...I didn't have time to look, and I don't think anything here will be able to help us get through the gap. But I wasn't really paying too much attention to than either." Jillian replied to Sola. After she finished, her finger went to her mouth and she bit it. It was a strange habit for her, but she always did this when she was nervous or scared.
"Yeah...Now that you mention it...there were beams, but I wouldn't want to use that. Still it is too dangerous...and not at all safe." Jay entered the room again and looked up the stairs. "I'll go up and check for anything that could aid us. Maybe you all should look around here." He went up the stairs and onto the rooftops, greeted by the eerie moans and groans of the dead. They were far from him and on the ground, but still they were loud enough to be heard. Jay looked around and ignored the sound, searching for something that could help the woman and her child to cross the gap.

Jack stood there quietly. He looked at a large dresser blocking the front door but it didn't look five feet so he didn't mention it. Jack then began to think about the demon looking thing that had attacked Jay. It was still out there. Jack figured that he would deal with it if it came back. He dealt with the first one without a problem, he could easily deal with this one now that it's lost it's tongue.

"Jay! Look over there!" Jillian pointed, seeing something that was more than five feet on the other roof. The thing seemed to shine under the remaining light in the city. Jay nodded, and backed up and ran. He leaped up and jumped the gap once more, but this time he temporarily lost his balance. Jay leaned forward, and stopped himself from falling. "I'm fine Jillian. I'm alright." He called, walking over to the metal-like object. He dragged it over and began to try to push it to reach the other side.
While he did this, Jillian ran back down to the two and alerted them of their finds. "Jack...We found something sturdy enough to cross. You can get Sola and the child across easily. We have to hurry...a lot of them are gathering around this building. C'mon!"

The woman looked at the young girl Jillian and Jack. ' Impressive. Time to see how everyone will fair in this hell hole'. She smiled at Jillian's happiness. It was endearing but they would need a little more then a cheery disposition. She held her son tighter, and smiled at the two; the civilian and the S.T.A.R.S captain. When the young computer tech passed by she brushed her hand to show her a sign of thankfulness but this was certainly not the time to say.
" Oh thank you.... blah blah blah".

Jack let out his hand to Jillian. "Ladies first." He beckoned, making a "go" gesture with his hands. Jack decided to check what was below them. He's not afraid of heights but the look of the zombies down below didn't look too promising. He spat, assuming his saliva hit one, then went across after Jillian, figuring she didn't protest.

She nodded, and walked over the metal slab. She didn't know how Jay had managed to move it, but she didn't really care. Jillian covered her nose and walked across, trying to ignore the sounds bellow her. While she walked to the other side, she had taken a small glance at the zombies below her, but that was enough to make her scream. One of the eyeless zombies were 'looking' up at her with its mouth wide open. She would have let sound out of her mouth, but her hand covering her nose had came down to cover her mouth. "...So...you can't just talk your way through, huh?" She said, making it across safely. "...You actually have to fight..."
"..Yeah. The fire escape's over there, and I don't think we wanna climb down to an alley of walking monsters...We could sneak out through this building...I don't think they know we actually moved." Jay said, reloading his handgun.
