It was August the 28th, 2002 when a recording was sent to the president's office. A man in a purple robe, behind him a gigantic missile. The man gave a calm smile to the camera before addressing the viewers. "Hello Mister President." The man started, as calm and cool as his smile. He was about middle-aged at most, his accent was obviously somewhere eastern, but as to where was a mystery. "Behind me is a sixty-kiloton biological weapon. I assure you, it is quite a threat to your... Perfect nation." The large stick in the man's hand gave the representation of a religious priest of some sort, but the clothes lead it to believe that he was the leader of some kind of cult. "I'm sure you're familiar with a commercial enterprise that once existed in the United States, the Umbrella Corporation. There's a sample I need of a specimen based out in the Antarctic. There is an old Umbrella research research base based out there. Granted, the base was destroyed a few years ago, however essence of the samples still remain." After that the man went on telling of the chart levels at which they'll know the sample. Then the man finished. "If you obtain this sample I wont launch my... "artifact" at your precious White House." He let out a small chuckle as the screen went blank...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Three days later the U.S. Secretary of Defense reported where the recording originated and that a plan of action has been formed and the briefings will go out the next day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A call was given a day ago. He was told to go up to D.C. for a mission of top priority. He'd only been an agent for two months, why would they give a scrub a mission of "top priority"? To Daniel Hale, it was all weird and before he knew it he was in Washington D.C., entering the briefing room of the nation's central command to be briefed. He had short, dyed red hair and light brown eyes, his hair was gelled into disarray though it wouldn't fit him if his hair wasn't dyed. Daniel had a case in his hand and wore a tuxedo, feeling he had to go formal given the place he was going to, but when he was already there he saw no one else was formal and saw a few of their gazes and could read their thoughts. He could just hear them thinking "Oh look, 007 has arrived." He felt a little embarrassed but soon enough didn't care. He entered the main office and the briefer asked him to sit and relax as he waited for his partner.

A second call had been sent out to an agent who had been in the service for a bit longer. The black SUV pulled up into one of he lots, and the door opened on the side. First one opened toed heel hit the pavement, then another. Finally, the woman herself appeared from around the door, and closed it. Her hair went down to frame around her face, just slightly past the chin. Slanted brown eyes stared out from thick framed black glasses, as she approached the central command building. She was dressed in a black formal business suit, for females of course, having the black skirt, ribbon and black coat. She had been part of the Secret Service, but was given a transfer to this division..guess they felt they didn't need her anymore. She walked causally into the briefing room, swaying her hips slightly left and right as she approached her seat. "Kei Nakazato." She flashed a badge of identification to the briefer and took a glance at her male companion. -He looks experienced...maybe this will be an easy job.- she thought to herself.

Daniel didn't bother flipping his own badge, he just gave a nod of acquaintance to the woman who just arrived. She was cute but he liked the fact more that she was Asian. All Asian operatives knew bomb kung fu moved right? Dan smiled at the thought before the man, who just left his computer, began to speak. "Agents Daniel Hale and Kei Nakazato, he paused, seeing that Kei was still standing. "Please take a seat." He invited and when she did he continued. "Recently.." He paused again and pushed a button a picture came on behind him of the recording, however there was now sound. "A possible terrorist has contacted us informing us that they have a biological weapon ready to be launched on American soil. Their demands are highly top secret and nearly impossible to achieve. Agent Nakazato, being experienced and highly decorated, Agent Hale, a bit of a scrub but you broke three training records, are both assigned to this. Your mission; go to Koravince, Spain, meet up with two local agents and they will take you to the location where the video originated. From there you are to use any means necessary to shut the possible cult down and disarm that weapon. Any questions?" The briefer asked. "Yeah.. What are their demands?" Daniel asked and the briefer shook his head. "That is above you." Hale shrugged, he had no more questions.

Kei wasn't feeling as confident as her partner, and straightened out her glasses. "Wait...if this is a bio-weapon threat, you're only going to be sending in four of us?" The briefer shook his head. "Will just be you two. The agents are merely there to transport you around." "What?! That is insane!" Kei burst from her seat. "What makes you think---" "Listen, Agent Nakazato. I'm sure you were put against worse things during your time in the secret service. But please, control yourself. You will be doing this mission. You and him were chosen specifically." The asian woman bared her teeth, and sat back down. "You will be leaving soon. I suggest you get your gear ready, and inspect your weapons. You have two days to prepare." And he dismissed them. She left the briefing room and looked over to her partner. "This is ridiculous!" She told him, and stormed off before he could say another word.
The woman returned to her SUV and returned home. Once there, she look over her gear that lay inside a metal closet in her garage. She'd never had to use these fatigues...there was never a call for them. They were rather dusty, too. After hit them a couple time to make them scuff free, she inspected her issued firearm, a reliable Beretta. She'd had this gun her entire career, but only fired it a few times. Guess she'd use it alot in Spain. She assumed they'd issue them bigger weapons when being briefed.

Dan listened to his soon-to-be partner cast up a storm but she was silenced. He walked out with her and was planning on an actual introduction when she broke through saying that the plans were ridiculous. He shrugged and watched her storm out. 'Good plan to me. Less people rouse less suspicion. We send in a squad and they'll launch the weapon before we get to it.' He thought to himself but didn't decide to chase her down to tell her. Instead he left the building and entered his Titan and rolled off to prepare.
Once at home he prepared his clothes, he'd wear all the tactical uniform underneath some civilian clothes, it's in the colder season anyways and he's been to Europe before, it gets cold. Standard issue vest and strap holster. Over those he'd have his casual clothes and another holster keeping his beloved .45. The other would keep a standard issued beretta should he lose his .45. He would wear blue cargo pants and black tactical boots. Over his torso he would wear his black leather jacket. After all, it's good to keep the showing of your weapons to a minimum. He slipped a knife in one of the tactical boots and another knife in his waist holster. He felt ready, hopefully they assign some bigger weapons...
The day came of their departure. The two partners met up in front of the building but didn't exchange many words. They were lead to the science department, from there the weapon scientist presented them items. "Due to the girl's weight a grapple gun should be sufficient, note that too much use could break it." He warned her. "For you, we've got this." he held out a hook. "What the hell's this?" Daniel asked. "You attach a thicker rope and it should support your weight, however it can't be shot like a grapple gun due to the rope's weight so you can use it to repel down things, or if you can throw high scale something." Dan looked disappointed. "For both of you we got transmitters to talk with us." He showed how to open it and how to input frequencies and showed which frequencies each other are. "Well that's all." The scientist said and Dan cocked an eyebrow. "What about guns?" The man shook his head. "We can't have you two causing a stir, I'm sure you guys'll find heavier weapons." Dan shook his head. "No, we need guns." The scientist held his ground. "It's not in my orders so go please." After a bit of arguing the partners were defeated, both of them had now entered a plane and was in Spain before they can say "lala".

Kei examined the grapple gun she was issued. -What am I? The dark night now?- She thought mentally, giggling quietly to herself. She was then given a transmitter. Atleast they could keep in touch when this all went to hell. "What about guns?" Her partner said. Then she heard they would not be having any issued. Another thing Kei found ludicrous. They're just gonna let us walk into a silo without shooting at us, huh? They had no choice either way, and were quickly herded into the plane.
When they arrived in Spain, the two agents greeted them, and lead them into their SUV. "Good thing you two aren't dressed in your uniforms. They don't take kindly to the police right now." One said before they started to drive off. "So where are we going?" Kei asked, and the passenger agent shrugged. "There is a drop-off point we need you to check out first. But hurry up with it! We don't won't be out here long." The man had snapped. Atleast it was nice to know these people were "friendly". The truck pulled to a stop in front of an old dirt path, and the policemen told them this was the checkpoint they'd need to scope out first. Kei nodded, and stepped out, keeping her hand in her coat, which grasped her handgun, and kind;y waited for Dan to come out as well.

Dan sat quietly while listening. These locals weren't too friendly. It only showed how hostile their enemies were probably going to be. They finally reached their destination. Kei got out and Dan was quick to follow. Dan looked at Kei and noticed she wasn't going to let anything catch her by surprise. Dan shook his head and took out the transmitter. A woman named Hunnigan greeted him. Apparently she would their outside support. Dan reported their location and hung up. "I don't like narrow dirt paths." He mumbled. He didn't seem to have his hand on his gun, though a side holster wasn't hard to get to. "So, uh.. Part of the secret service huh?" He asked, trying to make conversation but before she answered he looked up at a house. "Maybe whoever lives here could give us some directions. But be ready." He mumbled and walked towards the front door. He now had his hand on his waist and knocked on the door, no answer. "Hello? Anyone home?" No answer..

"Yeah I was, but..." Before Kei could really start her story, Dan had diverted his attention to the house. "Maybe the person living there could ask for directions?" Dan said. Kei shrugged. "Perhaps they can, but the moment a sexual joke comes, I'm breaking his nose." She waited for Daniel to knock on the door a couple times, before she herself went to the window, and started banging on it. She saw a man facing the other direction, and when she banged on the door, he turned around to face them. He shouted to her in Spanish, before disappearing behind a wall. "I guess he is coming back to open the door. When she saw his shadow coming back, her face showed an indifferent expression, until she saw was in his hand; an ax. "Shit." she swore, as the man threw it at the window. She quickly ducked, and the ax flew through the window, landing harmlessly, with some glass shards on the stoop. She pulled out her gun, and returned to a standing position. "Don't take another step forward!" She shouted to him. He made a scoffing sound, before reaching an ax strapped to the back of his belt. "Don't...I you, I'll be forced to." he seemed to be disregarding all her words, and when the ax was about to be thrown again, she fired, hitting him scare in the head...but he didn't die. Simply dropped the ax. Kei stared in disbelief. "That's not possible..." she said, before firing three more times. Two hit the chest, and the last one the throat, before the man finally died. She looked over to Dan. "Open the door, make sure he is dead."
Meanwhile, an engine could be heard starting up behind them. Then a large military truck rolled down the path, and moments later, they could hear the police officers shouting in Spanish, and firing guns...before an unmistakable explosion could be heard. Kei felt despair. They were stranded now...without any guides.

Dan waited a second, he watched as Kei went to the window and knocked. Suddenly she ducked an axe crashed through the window. "What the hell?!" He said, startled. He removed his gun right at the same time he heard her shoot. She mumbled something about possibility then a few more shots went off. Dan looked stunned, he didn't expect a fight out here, and with a civilian no less... Or at least he thought it was a civilian. "Open the door, make sure he is dead." She told Dan and he nodded. He tried the door and it opened smoothly enough.
As he entered a roar could be heard, he turned to see a military truck roll down. He wanted to save himself from saying "what the hell" again so he did. Suddenly the crash. "Shit." he muttered and suddenly heard yelling. He turned to see a small group coming after them. Dan shot, the bullet hit one in the leg and he stumbled. "Get inside!" He shouted and held the door open, popping off two other shots, one whizzing past one's head and the second hitting in the head but he only stumbled a few steps to look back, the hole leaking an odd colored blood. When Kei finally passed him he closed the door. He looked for something to block it but these people seemed primitive. Suddenly things quieted. Kei and Dan stood there, guns raised waiting for them to open the door but nothing came. Dan decided to check the door, it wasn't budging. "They're blocking us in, probably waiting for reinforcements." He said and thought about what to do next. He looked at the stairs and nodded. "Maybe we can get a vantage point upstairs and hit those bastards blocking door." He suggested.

Kei nodded, but saw a small chasm between a wall and the staircase. Curious as to why it was there, she turned into it, and saw a small opening under the door. She looked inside, thinking it might have something that would help them break out. But fell back on her but, her hand over mouth, shocked. "Oh...oh my god!" she cried outloud. "Those..those are human skulls!" She was too shocked to really move from her spot at the moment.

Dan began ascending the stairs when he heard Kei gasp. Wondering what was wrong he jumped from the side of the staircase and landed on his feet. He saw her on her butt. "Those..Are human skulls!" She gasped and he walked over and put his hand over his mouth and nose. The stench was bad. He put his hand on her shoulder, grasped her shirt and pulled her up. "Come on." He said after he let go of his mouth and began running up the stairs. It was small up here but at least there was a bed meaning that they were at least a little civilized. But the window was faced the wrong way. They wouldn't able to shoot them from here. Maybe he can catch them by surprise here.
He took a few steps back and got into a stance of someone about to run, he paused and looked at Kei. "If I break my neck.. Tell my ex-girlfriend... She's a bitch." With that he ran and shouldered the window and within seconds he was free falling, ending in a roll. He was on the side of the house here. He went around and saw two blocking the door and one other one seeming to be looking for something or someone on the dirt road. Dan aimed his gun, accompanied by a convenient laser sighting and fired. Hit one in the head, it happened to be the same one he hit before, the head went pop and exploded. The man fell to the ground, decapitated. Dan wondered what Kei was doing right now, whether she followed him in the jump or took the safer route, either way, the two that had been blocking the door turned and let go. One had a pitchfork, and the other a sickle.

Kei was still shocked, until she felt herself being forced up the stairs. It looks like they were trapped, and they sadly could not hit the enemy from here. Suddenly, she watched Daniel enter a running stance, and say "If I break my neck..tell my girlfriend she is a bitch." That made Kei think he was insane. "What?! you're not serious!" But, the next moment, he lunged through the window. She ran up to the sill to see what had happened to him. He landed like a cat it seemed. Kei watched as he shot down one without effort. Then the other two left the door, and approached Daniel slowly. Kei wasn't about to dive 25 feet from a window and if she tried to take the safe way, Daniel might be overwhelmed. She took her beretta out again, and aimed for the two approaching men from that spot. Having a good shot on one, she pulled the trigger, his heading exploding and his hat flying another direction. The one with the sickle looked at her, and she started shooting at him. Her bullets hit his arm and chest, but none of these were fatal shots. One more shot, right to the shin forced him on his knee, leaving him helpless to any attack.

Dan fired again but it was joined with more shooting. Kei was leaning out of the window and firing. Soon enough it was down to one on his knees. Dan ran up and before the man could react, Dan had his right palm on the man's chin and left palm on the back of the man's head and he twisted them like a wheel. The man's neck broke and Dan pushed the corpse to the ground. He was panting a little, more at the fact that his jump worked. How exhilarating real battle was. "Meet at the door!" He called to Kei as he walked over to the front door and awaited his partner. He wanted to check on the policia guys. And he let her know when she came down that he wanted to check on them. "I don't think we should split up. These people aren't people. Come with me to check on the policia." He suggested.

Kei was happy to oblige with his proposal. The guys seemed like headhunters. She ran with him down the trail, where the policia jeep used to be. The jeep was gone, but there was a beacon of smoke rising up from the ditch behind where it used to be. She ran over to the ledge and peered in. Smoke was rising from both vehicles that went over. In the jeep, she could see one of the policia men's hands sticking out the window. The other body was in a gruesome position on a rock elsewhere in the ditch. "Damn it..." Kei mumbled, kicking a stone into the ditch. "We're stranded now. That was our ride and our guide." Sighing, she flopped over onto a flat stone beside a tree, brought her knees in, and laid her chin on them. "So what should we do you think?" Kei had been trained to stay calm in situations such as this and often how to deal with it. But, this was all hostile environment, and the nearest contact was over several hundred miles away.

Dan shook his head at the wreckage. "This may be... Problematic." He folded his arms. The disfiguration of the corpses below made him shudder and he had to look away. "We're stranded now. That was our ride and our guide." He heard her say and he nodded. "So what should we do you think?" She finished and he gave her a gentle smile. "I'm not worried." He started. "There's only three ways this can go down. First of all, those other people didn't come from nowhere, and I don't know about you but their houses didn't look too primitive so it's likely they had enough intelligence that humans were humans... At least at one point. Besides, this is the behavior of your cliche evil cult, they beat the hell out of things that don't agree." He gave a small chuckle. "So I say... We continue the mission. And if it comes down to needing extraction I'm sure they'd prep a helicopter for us." He walked over to her and held out a gloved hand, the pointing finger of the glove was bare as was customary for soldiers when they need to find their trigger. "So what do you say? Run away or do what we came here to do?"
