Karin stopped at a window and broke it open with the extinguisher. Clouds of black smoke rushed out of the window and massive heat met her as she did and she backed away, rubbing her eyes. "Ow..." She looked up with tearful eyes and extinguished some of the fire blocking the way to the window. "Hey! Over here! It's open!" She shouted, but it seemed as if the crackling blaze inside drowned out her voice. She was tempted to jump inside and help them, but it would be too dangerous for her, and if she did come out alive, Carmen and Al would probably beat her.
He walked slowly, carrying his brother around. So far, all he saw were the flames of hell and death. The smell of blood and smoke surrounded him and everything seemed to be in flames. He could no longer hear the screams of people and only could hear the crackling of the fires. The sky was being blacked out by massive towers of smoke and it rained down pure black and gray ash. Buildings were burning down to the ground and everything seemed to become dark. The world around him seemed to be covered in a dark silence. So much for the phrase, 'silence is golden.'
Nathan walked around and stopped at the elementary school, spotting a familiar animal, a horse. "Looks like...something survived." He muttered and approached it. The brown horse looked at him for a moment and turned away as Nathan approached it. He nodded and looked around. "Noth---" Not too far from the horse, he saw a figure on the ground and recognized the figure. "Hey!" He shouted, jogging up to the fallen victim. "Are you alright?"

Carmen was relieved to be able to know where they were...but then Karin seemed to go elsewhere, intent on another. Carmen looked shocked, and held hand out to her before she left. "No! Please! Don't leave me alone here!" She shouted to the officer, but it was too late. In a situation like this, she'd have called for backup to come help her. But she had no contact with the outside world...ad if she did, who would come? This was something she would be forced to handle alone. "Please, fireman!" One of the children shouted. "Save us!" Carmen unstrapped the nozzle of the extinguisher, knowing what she had to do. Letting it out in controlled bursts, she began making a path to the corner they were stranded at. But a ceiling beam that had had enough, gave way, and crashed to the ground, sending the children into a panic She knew she would have to calm while getting to them...but she wasn't exactly good at this. She understood that she just needed to keep them talking. "No, please, babies." She began above the blaze. "Don't panic...just...settle down, come on let's talk about something..." Another burst from the extinguisher, as her advance seemed to go at a snail pace. "Umm...my name is Carmen..." Was all she could think of to start. "What are you names?" "Jonas!" One souted back. "Megan!" Came another. "What pretty names...but I thought there were more of you..." The firefighter responded, simply expelling the foam now, determined to speed this up. "How many of you are there?"
Al knew he couldn't cover the entire school, but unlike most rescues, there would be several teams inside to help him, so he didn't have to. He came to another hall that looked all too familiar. Like he'd been there before. "Is anybody down there?!" He called, hoping to get a response, so he wouldn't need to go down. No such luck, as he took a deep breath, and marched down it. There was a sign by one of the doors. "A/V room..." He said to himself. "Must be so much equipment in there...I doubt anyone made it..but..." He tried the door anyway. It wasn't locked, but it seemed stuck. "The hell!" He shouted frustrated. "Don't have time for this!" The axe was raised, as he started hack at certain parts of the door, mainly around the hinges.

"They can't talk!" Megan shouted and then Jonas said, "Some are sleeping like the teacher, and others are scared!" The children were covering their heads and in a corner trying to stay near the floor. "AH! A window broke!" Megan shouted, as pieces of glass flew from a window near them. "Ow..." The children continued to scream, until they saw a burst of white foam come through the window, extinguishing the flames in front of the window. A woman climbed through the window and right into the library.
The children watched the person extinguish a few more fires before turning to them. The person approached them, after dodging a few flames, and revealed herself to be Karin. "Police woman Karin!" They shouted, recognizing her from her career week visit. Karin put out the fires on the teacher's legs and dragged her over. "Shhh...I'm going to help you guys out...but you guys have to be calm and you absolutely have to respond back to Carmen as loud as you can..." She said to them and they nodded. "I'll come back to you guys later."
Karin put the woman on her back and some children helped the unconscious woman up. "I didn't know how heavy she actually was..." She muttered, before taking slow and steady steps to the window. The window was a few feet away from the children, but when carrying a heavy woman and a fire extinguisher it was hard to get through. She stomped out a few flames before getting to the window, and when she got there, she could hardly climb over, but luckily she did after a few unsuccessful tries. She carried the teacher out and gently laid her on the ground before running back.
"Firewoman! The teacher's ok!"
When Karin re-entered the building and tried to get back to the children, she began to cough, and she felt a minor headache. She looked up at the children, trying to see them through her now tearful eyes and coughed some more. “Policewoman! Policewoman!” They shouted and she nodded, unable to reply back. Her throat seemed to have dried up and no sound escaped from her mouth. Karin felt as if she was being choked by a big lump in her throat and realized that it was because of the fire and her newfound fear of the flames.

(I assume we're approaching Myles?)
Bo relaxed on his brother's shoulders. He had finally gotten himself together enough to cease crying. Bo's ear was against his brother's back, he had focused intently on counting the heart beats just to focus on something that wasn't the current situation. Suddenly Nathan's chest rumbled as voice escaped the older boy's lips. Bo brought his head from his brother's back and leaned on his shoulder to see what was happening. Nathan had started in a sprint and next thing Bo realizes he's being put down beside a another person. Bo didn't say anything, he assumed this one was like the rest.

(You're the one going there. I dunno. I just posted the beginnings of manic depression.)
Almost instinctually, Myles turned to his side and began feeling for every pit, bump, scratch, and hair that resided on his head. "Good, my face isn't melting again." He muttered. He looked again at the horse, and with his eyes working better now, decided to turn onto his stomach and look towards something a bit farther away. Are those people? No, My glasses are dirty. My eyes still won't work. He rolled back over, and looked for shapes in the billowing smoke, a sick and twisted version of everyone's favorite childhood game. His mind turned again. "They can't be alive! They're mad that I made it out! They're coming to get me!" The sane corner of his mind fought back. "How can they be dead? That doesn't even happen much in all the games. All the shows. All the movies you ever see." "All those stupid games. You knew those wouldn't do anything for you. Look at where you are. You are pathetic. I bet you've forgotten to breathe because your hand-held computer hasn't been here to remind you. It blew up, just like everything else that ever valued you." "NO! NO! NO! SHUT UP!" His mouth was too think with soot say anything. he mouthed the words, then raised himself up on his elbows and began wheezing. He hadn't noticed how thick the air was. Allowing himself to slide down a hill a little ways and forcing air through his polluted airways, he settled again. The words echoed in the deep corners of his head, like a poison. Stupid. Pathetic. Forgotten. Footsteps came. The dead people's footsteps. Myles' arms would behave. He just laid there. They came up to him, and were still very fleshy. Myles smiled weakly, turned away, vomited, and got up to a sitting position, a sour look disfiguring his face.

Carmen wanted to clear the path quickly. She knew Karin meant well, but her being a hero like this might end up costing her her life. Eventually, her haste proved successful, and she found herself standing over the small group of children. It was time to evacuate them. Most of them were young, so they weren't so heavy...and besides, if you were forced to lug around sixty pounds of equipment, you might find your strength being enhanced as well. She told Jonas and Megan to wait by the window, while she reached down to pick up the unconscious children, two at a time, and bring them to the window. She could hear a whistling sound below...but didn't think much of it..for now. I could have been something harmless...but soon, she would know otherwise.
Meanwhile, Al finished with the door, and kicked it open. The room was a ablaze, and he couldn't see anything. A fog of black greeted and enveloped him as soon as he opened the door. If anyone was in there, they surely would have suffocated by now. He exited the room, not bothering to look behind him. Then something caught his attention. A broken window. Someone had tried to break out. Quickly, Al ran for it, and stuck his head out, calling "Hello?! Is anyone out there?!"

Two frightened and nervous children looked at the officer, and she gave them a warm smile. She hugged a child and the child clinged onto her, even when she stood up. "Oh..." Then Karin offered to piggyback another child, so she could get two of them up. She left the extinguisher with the children and quickly, but awkwardly jogged to the window. The child that had clung to her climbed out of the window and she climbed through the window to gently dropped the child hanging to her back. By this time, she stopped next to the child and took deep breaths and coughed. After some moments, she got up and re-entered the building, thinking about the rest of the children.
Karin managed to get out two children before collapsing. On the green grass, she was gasping for air, and coughing. Her eyes were burning and so was her hand. She couldn't get out any words from her mouth, but in her mind she was scolding herself. "Oh..." She seemed to just sit there, before she rubbed her tearful eyes. "Is officer Karin alright?" A child asked her, and she held out one of her hands, as she coughed.

When the boy threw up Bo couldn't help but to quickly walk away before he himself did. The thing is Bo kept walking until he was a little ways away from the other two but still in Nathan's sight. Bo fought his now queezing stomach. Suddenly something distracted him, it sounded like a person. Bo looked back at Nathan who seemed focused on the boy still which means it wasn't him. In fact it didn't seem like Nathan noticed. "Hello!?" Bo called, loud enoughf or Nathan and the other boy to hear.
(Bo hears Al in case you got confused.)

"Hello? We're here! outside!" Myles weakly called out. Chances were it was too quiet to be heard, but it was worth a shot. He crawled up to the side of the building and peeked over the window sill, looking for a shape in the tangled mess. The air as so thick you couldn't even tease a breathe out of it now, so he let his head droop to the ground. For a long time now, his torso didn't hurt, but the red-stained glass he just saw brought all the pain back. The grass closest to the window was blackening with soot, and with each crawling stride, he scraped a hole through the blanket of ash. "Shit it hurts so bad... Can either of you help me up? I can't move my- Damn!" he slumped to his side and hoped one of the boys would oblige.
