A young woman sat at a large wooden desk in a dimly lit room, a small desk lamp illuminated the room. She was obviously not an ordinary native of Britain. She had long copper hair that reached the end of her shoulder blades, skin faintly kissed by the sun. She wore an ordinary forest green tank top, with black track pants and a pair of dirty sneakers.
Opened in front of her was a file folder containing the location of an unusual creature. The creature was called a Harpy, an abnormal (supernatural creature) that was capable of becoming a winged demon-like beast during the night while keeping a physical, female human form during the day. There were perhaps less than half a dozen left in the world. Before modern technology a family of abnormal hunters slain many beasts of this nature, Hellsing wasn't just some fairy tale or some sad Hollywood plot for a pathetic action flick.
This young woman worked for MI6, also known as SIS; England's Secret Intelligence Service, well a subdivision of SIS truthfully. Her occupation was non-existent to the people of her beloved country. Oddly they didn't even have an official name for their division, mostly they called the division the Inner Sanctum. A place were abnormal could possibly live in peace or they could kept for the protection of humanity.
The Inner Sanctum, engineered a program to help combat abnormal. The test subjects or applicants must have a genetic disposition towards a rare gene carried in every 1 human being per 100 million humans, with a serum they could alter a person's DNA to unleash a dormant abnormal ability, or in rare cases abilities. All field agents had this genetic anomaly, few chose to take the serum, those who did choose the serum had a five percent chance of it working or possibly having them slowly die.
Only two field agents bonded with the serum. one of them was the Inner Sanctum's Captain Alessandro De Angelis, he received the gift of Rapid Cell Regeneration. That SOB was nearly impossible to kill. The only way to kill him is to decapitate him, or burn him alive with either fire or acid.
The other was Elektra King, coincidentally her name also appeared in a James Bond film. She bonded in with the drug differently than her superior. Elektra had a unique gift. Within fifteen to twenty around her, she could inflict an immense aura of pain. If she chose to she could also channel this talent through physical touch or through something she has grasped in her hands thus concentrating her gift to become lethal enough to kill.

She sat in front of a computer screen and lazily typed away. This was absolutely wonderful, the woman thought. She had been promised a job combating the abnormal and instead she was stuck searching up possible cases of out-of-this-world threats. Of course the job was important, but there was no action and nothing impressive. Well she still got to see some of the monsters and creepy crawlies, but the field agents made fighting them sound so exciting. The public knew nothing of their daring feats, but she bet that they felt rewarded in some kind of way.
A sigh escaped her lips. "To think I've been losing some zeds over this..." She muttered before running her hand through her wavy, brunette hair that reached to about three inches past her shoulders. "They wouldn't mind too much...after all, they do have some information..." Before she knew it, she had gently rested her head on her desk with her hazel eyes closed. Soon after, the woman fell asleep and was completely oblvious to the hustle and bustle around her.
"Hey! Anna!" A loud voice sudddenly shouted, but the woman didn't stir. "Anna Price!" Still nothing. "Ah c'mon, mate!" There was silence between the voice and Anna. "...Stop arsing aroung and get up!" And finally, after a somewhat violent shake, the hazel eyed woman opened her eyes and looked up sleepily. Without saying a word, the woman got up, yawned and stretched, before grabbing her black track jacket off of her seat. The jacket had thin, vertical stripes on its sleeves and on the right breast area, its brand name and symbol were shown. "Hurry up now." Anna waved her hand at the person who had called to her and slowly pulled her jacket over a simply designed white shirt. She zipped her jacket up all the way and then bent down to tie her old sneakers.
"Anna...." Even though the voice was impatient, she continued to take her time, but luckily for the person waiting, she was just about done. She finished by wiping some dirt off her jeans and she looked up with a grin. "Done?" And she nodded.
"Sorry Robert, did I take to long?" The man glared and her and she smiled. "Guess that means we're off to get your motah then?" Robert shook his head and then she gave her a pile of paper. "Oh...you're kidding me."
"Keep your hair on, Anna. It's not too bad."
"Is it?"
"Ahaha..." He gave a nervous chuckle and quickly turned around and walked out of the door. "Well see ya later Anna. Just finish investigating those and go report to whoever asked for the reporting."
Anna watched as Robert left and as soon as she was sure that the man was gone, she kicked a crumpled up ball of paper. "Aghhhh...." She dropped the pile of papers on her desk and sat back down. So much for getting out of work. "Back to the brilliant world of research! Off we go!" An unamused look was clear on her face. "Whoo-hoo."

Elektra King finished reading the file of the legendary Harpy. She palced it back on her desk. She stood up and stretched for a few moments before leaving the room. On her way out she turned off her desk lamp.
She peeked in a few door here and there to see if there were anyone else in this corridor. She stopped at the final door before the elevator, there was Anna Price a reasearch analyst for the Inner Sanctum if she remembered correctly. Looking at her cell, King realised it had been three hours after 'closing'. Closing time was when those who were not field agents or downstairs researchers left to go and actually have lives.
Walking into the room, the copper haired woman stood a few feet back from Anna. She noticed that the other woman looked beat.
" Miss Price. I think you can leave now".

The old assignments and projects that had been already researched were taken down from the walls and were put into the finished pile. She then took the new papers from the pile she had been recently given and pinned them to the walls. As soon as that was gone, Anna sat down in her chair and began to type away. Multiple tabs were shown on the browser windows and she was running searches like crazy. Just because she disliked her job didn't mean that she wasn't good at it.
A tired smile came as she continued to type and soon enough she was writing on post-its and a note pad. Anna constantly looked up at the screen and down at her notes as she continued the research. Occasionally, the hazel eyed woman would stand up to pin up notes or stick on stick notes. This went on for quite a bit until she heard the voice of another woman.
In the middle of pinning up a piece of paper, she looked over her shoulder to see Elektra King. "Oh its quite fine...There's not much for me to do later..." She was one of those quieter people who didn't go out much and didn't have many friends. Maybe a few close ones, but she never did go to those large outings. "A little overtime isn't too bad."

" I'm afraid there are somethings for you to do later Miss Price. I've reviewed your application to become a field agent. De Angelis was skeptical at first, but he was easily persuaded and so was I. you've been upgraded to full fledge Agent".
She walked over to the former research analyst and shook her hand. She looked over the other woman, noting her work attire. It would do fine for what was planned next. She smiled gently at her new partner. Lucky her, it was Rookie Duty. It was a common joke amoung the field agents when new recruits joined up they paired with one of the more experienced solo agents until they were capable of handling themselves or they join a team.
She would have to guess the latter for Anna. Sure she was athletic enough but she was more brainy than most of the other who regularly got beat up by supernatural creatures.
" I'm to help train you, our first mission will to be on the look out for an ancient creature known as a Harpy. I believe the one we are currently tracking is named Melina Romanov. She is from Russia but than moved to Transylvania than to other parts of South Asia than finally returning here to London".

Anna finished pinning up the paper and went back to her desk to pick up a few other postits to put on the wall. She continued to listen to the woman and when the woman finished speaking, Anna wasn't sure what to think. After hearing what Elektra had said, Anna was caught between laughing and crying. There had to be some mistake. Maybe it was a joke? Who died and gave an opening to a normal person? Or even better, who wanted her dead? From what she had heard, the field agents were rumored to have powers, or something, and no way did she have that. Nor did she expect to become a field agent.
But before she knew it, Elektra King walked over and shook her hand. The woman smiled at her and Anna smiled back, even though she was still a little bit shocked by the news. Before she could say anything about the the news she had just recieved, her new partner was already explaining the details of their first mission together.
"Uh...uhm...ok..."

" I'd suggest to you from now one when something unexpected happens in your life. Don't take anytime to think about it. Just do what feels natural to you, use your instinct".
The woman was obviously in shock. She looked confused, grateful and overwhelmed all at the same time. A pity really that she was pushed into this but these things couldn't be helped. She read over Anna's file very carefully. The woman was meticulous, cautious and determined. The latter two were more field agent orientated.
" When you make a descision follow it through, never second guess yourself. From now on when you make a mistake you take full resposibility. You may never get a second chance for anything".
She motioned her new rookie partner to follow her. She pressed a button for the elevator. When it came she entered, than waited for a second for Price. She swiped a keycard, it popped open a small keypad. She quickly typed in her access code. Then pressed a newly lit button.
They were going to the very bottom, SB 8. Sub-basement 8. This held a reasearch facility, an armoury for the Inner Sanctum, cages for their captured Abnormals and yes the ability serum as well.
She quickly turned around a glass wall. She smiled lightly to a few of the techs before going over to Quincy. Quincy Ramieriz was the gun specialist for the team. He had everything you needed to combat anything really. Given enough time he could provide you with a tank.
" What do you have for us Quincy?"
" My lovely Elektra. I got anything you need baby. But specially nothing exciting for this mission. Just the standard hangun, a couple of clips, two regular and one tracer rounds. Got your survellaince equipment in your car waiting. I also got the rest of the file you need for the Harpy".
" Good. Time to suit up Rook"
She led her companion to a woman's locker room. She geared up in a thin, black turtle neck, regular black slacks, and everyday black runners. She put all of this on, she strapped a thigh holster on, and a knife belt on her other thigh for a silvered combat knife. Once she placed her appropriate weapons in place. She grabbed a black flack jacket. It was thinner than most but provided all the necessary protection. It was even made in a modern stylish fashion to boot. Beside all of her own gear there was a pair for Anna Price as well, these would be suited to her body.
Once she geared up She grabbed a set of keys from her locker then shut it. She waited for the rookie to finish before heading off to the garage. there waiting for the duo was an Aston Martin DB5, the classic James Bond car.
She got a curious look from the girl beside her. King merely shrugged.
" some girls buy shoes, some get clothes and makeup, some even collect guns. I, I get cars".

She was hearing the woman's words clearly but even though she heard 'never second guess yourself,' Anna felt as if the descision she made when she turned in the application wasn't the best. Inside, she was mentalling cursing herself and Robert. Robert had once told her 'not to worry because the percentage of actually getting was very small,' but out of bad luck, or great luck, depending on how you looked at it, she got in. Was it time to laugh her ass off at Robert or was it time to pray to heavens so she still had an ass to worry about?
Well, King didn't give her time to think and quickly motioned her to a familiar elevator. Anna was about to open her mouth to ask but then she decided to to keep quiet. She saw the woman swipe her card and enter her access code. Soon enough a button lit up and it was pressed which then lead them down, down, down into a sub-basement.
Quietly, she followed after her partner and saw a new face. She listened to their exchange of words before she followed King into the woman's locker room. "So I'm supposing this is all for the mission..." She said, but it was mostly a mutter to herself. " ...Okay..." As she changed into the uniform and pulled on all the gear, she did her best to do it quickly but correctly. Slight excitement was in her movements, but it was a type of excitement wouldn't be enough to hinder her later.
As soon as she finished, she followed King out to the garage and when she saw the car, she couldn't help but blink. She was just that speechless. "That...Your motah's the business..." She honestly had never seen that kind of car up close and in real life. Damn, I wish my own was as nice, she thought.

Jay O'Brian rocked on his heels nervously as Agent De Angelis hovered ominously over him. Quincy was out of the area, fetching a vial of this "serum" that Jay'd opted in for. The way he'd figured it, drinking the clear syrup was a win-win situation for the rest of the world. He wasn't much of an outstanding individual, as far as general society came, in the fact that he hasn't done anything with his life outside of joining M16's ranks after a stint in the Gulf. He chose to be the least spectacular of all men, the well-rounded individual. No friends, his Mom kicked him out of the house when he was 14, he hardly had a name. If he gets superpowers, the world gets a superhero. If he dies, there's more air for people. What the hell? Quincy came back, and set the metal box in front of De Angelis, who opened it carefully, and shook the vial tauntingly in front of Jay. He responded by running his hand through his chocolate-colored hair and sighing. "Heh, bottom up!" "O'Brian, you understand the consequences of this?" "Yes, sir. But I never was one to back down." The agent led Jay to a white room that smelled strongly of cleaner, like a hospital room, with a semicircle of blue counters surrounding a blue chair with arm and leg restraints. "Sit down." "Fair enough." The agent strapped him in, and tightened a tourniquet around his arm and produced a syringe from one of the drawers. "I'm ready." Jay's eye twitched a little as the needle entered his skin. The agent pulled the syringe out and released the tourniquet. Jay's arm, then body, felt like it was being seared with fire for a split second, then the pain faded as quickly as it came. Jay contracted a splitting migraine powerful to make him fall to the floor when he attempted to stand up. "This is it," he said over and over to himself, but like the fire from the needle, the pain vanished instantly. He stood up, and shook his head violently. "Suit up. You read the briefing." "Right, right. Cyclops on the loose." Jay didn't feel any powers...

King was halfways to the coordinate destination when her cell phone violently buzzed and thrashed about in her pocket. She quickly grabbed the blasted devil device from her pocket, she quickly read the text message. She rolled her eyes in frustration. Great another rookie. Why couldn't Castillo or Rae take the newbie? Maybe they had it in for their female agents, that or god had very sadistic humor. Of course the solo agent had to do her duty.
" I hope your buckled in". The copper haired woman smirked before, pulling on the emergency break at the neck breaking speed they were doing. She turned the wheel as quickly as she could, turning them around in a whirling fury. Before she really stepped on the gas peddle.
" We have another agent joining us Price. Some kid named O'brian or something like that. Apperantly he didn't die when he took the Abnormal Serum, must mean he got some kind of gift. They don't know what it is. If his gift corrupts him. We kill him. No if's, ands or butts. We then will call the Cleaning Crew, but this is a worse case senario".
When they arrived back at MI6, Elektra hopped out of the Aston MArtin DB5. She instead to choose one of her more ordinary vehicle, she chose a 2008 Porsche Cayenne. It was a five-seat mid-size luxury sport utility vehicle. She replaced the reconaissance equipment into the sports utility vehicle.
Then she waiting outside of the Porsche, leaning against the drive's side.
' Well I hope they can handle themselves in combat. No matter what I'm not here to protect them, coddle them or that babysitter BS'.

Oh of course they would turn around! That and nearly kill her. The woman in charge of her training was a great driver, if you ignored her dangerously sharp turns and how she had just floored the gas pedal. Jesus Christ. The field agents seemed to live the lives they boasted and now, Anna really wondered if it was all worth it. Was getting her insides turned and spread around like jelly worth this 'promotion'?
And again, Elektra had broken through her thoughts. As the woman talked, Anna listened while watching the blurs of buildings outside. From what she was hearing another person would be joining and he had powers from an Abnormal Serum. At that point, a quiet chuckle escaped from her, but she regained composure as Elektra told her what to do if he lost control. Who would have ever thought that the rumors were true? Oh the irony.
As soon as they arrived back, Anna got out of her seat and held her stomach. It took a while for her insides to settle, but she recovered quickly and waited for the power boy. "Brilliant..." She muttered as she waited for O'brian with Elektra.

Jay pressed his fingers against his temples as he was lead out to the parking garage. His black suit, now ruffled and creased by the ordeal, created an annoying swish in the echoes of the garage, accompanied by the click of his shoes on the pavement. When he woke up this morning, he had expected to meet with a few security officials and some CIA officers. Now he was happy they provided attire. He wore a black pinstripe suit to work which, albeit good-looking on his stout frame, would have been near impossible. He felt the handle of his knife, of the small machine pistol he was handed, and set off towards a what his brother, who lived across the pond, would have described as "an SUV that looks too sissy to be an SUV." Waiting outside the Porche was Agent King. He approached and, despite sensing hostility in the air between them, introduced himself to the two women and jumped in the car. "How long does this serum usually take to do something?" Jay looked at Agent King and Agent Price in hopes one of them could clear things up.

" In terms of hours, under four. We don't know what your gift is, so we wait until it manifests itself. It could be completely offensive or completely passive, sometimes it could be in the middle. Either way. We have no idea. It could take on physical traits, or be a mental talent".
Taking the abnormal Serum, what would come after you lived through the injection experience was a mystery. All agent felt it's touch within four hours after recieving the damn thing. But not being able to choose your gift, not knowing what it was. Well it was risky.
The trio left MI6, going back towards a new set of destination coordinates. This time taking them outside of London, leading them toward Canterbury. A few hours later, they stopped outside of the city. It was nearing two am when they arrived.
King exited her vehicle, grabbing a map of the area; procceeded to take out her laptop, enterring her password, a satellite image came up on the screen. A large heat signature was located maybe 3 or 4 kilometers away.
" Either one of you want to in put an idea or two about how to procceed with this mission?".
It was only fair to let the rookie's to have their input.

Like she knew. Anna was a research analyst who had once worked on finding out if the rumors were true and about the Abnormals. Sadly, she never did pay too much attention to all the happenings in the actual organization so she took some of the happenings as rumors. When those rumors turned out to be true, she was usually in for a shock. Well, it couldn't be helped. In her case, that was what happened when one got too into their job.
But to her luck, Elektra was well informed. Anna supposed that it was a good thing, but she hoped that she wouldn't have to take that Serum. It didn't sound very pleasant to her and from the looks of O'brian, it didn't seem very pleasant. Were field agents supposed to take it? Maybe she could quit or something if they had to...
"Guess...it's time to go?" She was right, They entered Elektra's car and they were headed off to their destination. Upon arrival, Anna couldn't help but laugh at her watch. "Earlier I had complained about losing zeds..." And right after that, she exited the car. Anna watched as king took out her laptop and a map. Then the woman went to ask them a question. "Uhm..." Anna shrugged and gave an honest, "I don't know. I suppose it depends on if the abnormal requires assistance or termination."

"Either one of you want to in put an idea or two about how to procceed with this mission?" "I don't know. I suppose it depends on if the abnormal requires assistance or termination." Jay looked long and hard at the thermal picture, and slowly shook his head back and forth. "How would we take care of something that big without collateral damage?" Again, he put his hands to his temples, his straining at the computer screen reigniting the headache. "I vote that we move closer than three kilometers and actually see what we're up against, before we make any moves that we'll regret." He looked up and scratched his head, fixed on the horizon behind them for only a second, "Ma'am."
