"...Oh." The work had caught her by surprise. No, it wasn't hard, and it came quite easy to her. The last time she had done this was a couple years back, and this was one of her favorite subjects. It didn't take long for her to finish the given assignment, and she was ready for any more work the teacher had for her, but right now, she wanted the class to be over soon, so she could talk to the teacher.
"Is this all the work they are giving me...I do remember it being much more harder and having more work...This places isn't nearly as chalanging as the last and it makes me wonder why the teacher from earlier moved here..."
Faith finished writing her name on the paper and put her pencil down. She rested her chin on her hand and stared out of a window beside her. The animals were beautiful and so were the plants, but they were artificial. Almost everything was, and even the weather wasn't natural. Back in ancient times, everyone use to say, "It's a small world after all." But now, the world was even smaller.
"I wonder if I should ask for more work. No, I don't wnat any trouble...At school, it matters on how I present myself to them. It's always been that way and the system will never change. Even from ancient times. Nothing really has changed...except for the no violence policy."

Gordon assumed the headman was going to sweep the project out from under him, so he immediately said his explanation. "Listen, sir. I haven't even bee on this project for two hours...I'm using all the resources I can, but I don't see how all this is going to fit in such a small land mass..." Then his real reason for wanting to keep this project reared it's ugly head. "Listen, give it to Dean Portman if you must..." He began. "But, as I'm sure your records will tell you, I'm one of the best architects in this city. Giving something like this to that idiot Portman would be a waste of money..."

Jeoff took a cigarrette from a pack and placed it between his lips but didn't light it. "Who's Portman?" He asked but didn't wait for an answer. "No, I specifically picked YOU." He said then tapped the pack of cigs on his desk just so he had something to occupy him as he spoke. "This project is very important for the city's survival, you understand that. I need only the best to expect the best results. If you cannot fit the landmass then jump the height. I called mostly because there is one key feature that I forgot to mention into the report. A dome, I need a dome at the top." He said and started up his lighter but quickly shut the flames down without lighting the death stick. "I'm sure you can arrange that, right Gordon? If you don't mind me calling you that." He said at ease as he stared at an old picture of his family. He then put the cigarrette back in it's case.
Kathy easily breezed through the assignment, her father taught her this years ago. She noticed alot of people still working though it seems that one girl had finished. She remembered her from the halls looking at her like she was a freak, then again, who didn't? Kathy kept this look even after most her friends left. She picked up her backpack and checked a zipper to make sure a pack of cigarrettes she had stolen from her father were still there. She had been smoking for a month now ever since Jose, a goth boy had forced her to try it. Jamie was her only pure friend who seemed to be bright and happy to everyone and kept herself clean. Kathy shook her head miserably and put the backpack to the ground as she waited for the teachers next directives.

"I understand, sir." Gordon replied, and put the phone away. "Extend the height!" He shouted aloud, hitting his head. "Why didn't I think of that." In his frustration, easy alterations like that slipped his mind. He returned home quickly excited. "Dr. Boe will be happy indeed!" Upon arrival home, he gave Lian a rather long smooch on the lips before locking himself away in the study. His routine remained that way for the next eight days, of course, he did take a shower in between meals and what not, but always locking himself away in the study after wards. After nine days, it was completed. The blueprints; Interior and exterior. Even had 5 days to spare. He quickly grabbed the phone from the hook and dialed his boss. "Sir, I've completed my task, inform Dr. Boe whenever you can. I'm sure he'll be most pleased."

Jeoff was quickly told of the man finishing. Jeoff nodded and told the man to give his deepest thanks to Gordon. Jeoff then took his car and drove over to where it was built. He then took out his cell phone. "Bring the equipment." He said and everything was quickly put together. It only took 5 days and much area was gained by the machine as the mist seemed to move out more. 'This leaves more room to build, to help prevent overcrowding.' Jeoff thought to himself with a smirk. "I'm a genius!" He yelled happily as yet another of his inventions worked. He was just as happy as he was with the memory loss chair. Now they could control the mist however they want.

A few weeks passed on. Their teacher for Ancient Languages announced they would have a field trip to a new digging site that uncovered a large stone tablet that contained several of the old languages, they all signed their permission slips. It took alot to convince his father, then it happened. The horrid man died. He stepped out to quickly in the street, he was jay walking like usual. A semi hit him, it killed him instantly.
It was numbing feeling once he heard that his father died. Amazingly everything his father owned was left to him. His father's friends and little family was there, and so was Lucas. The blond boy comforted his friend to the best of his abilities.
" It'll be okay" the Adonis whispered. His arm slung around his buddy's shoulder. " I-I know" he whispered back. And it would be okay. It would be far better then okay. He wouldn't have to live in shame or regret. He wouldn't have to cower in fear. " I know".
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That was about two weeks before the field trip. He was all excited, it would mean uncovering some of their history. A once in a life time event. He packed his things up and headed down the stairs. Lynn smiled when he noticed his good friend was there waiting for him. " Come on lets go before were assigned to be with some weirdo" the elder boy joked.
They quickly made their way to the digging site. Unfortunately almost everyone was in group already. " I told you we should have hauled some ass once we left your place" taunted the blond.

"Damn it!" If she didn't have that meeting last night and had slept earlier, she wouldn't have been in a rush and managed to cut herself. She hated fruit now and hated how it was so easy to take a knife and cut through it. Faith also hated how human flesh was just as easy to cut. She ran her hand under cold water, making sure to clean the cut, and after she made sure it was clean, she wrapped it in a cloth, and pulled a glove over it. Faith didn't have time to actually get it check. This field trip was important, and information gained from this trip, would most likely be fake, or be locked away if it was true. She would need to check it out herself.
She ran out the door, wearing some demin shorts, a sleeve-less orange shirt, and white tennis shoes. Because she was in a rush, she kept her black hair down, and jumped into her car. She quickly made her way to the digging site, but took a few minutes to and texted messaged Jeoff. The message said that she was here and it told the man to get ready for anything. It also said that everything uncovered, should be recovered and locked away.
Faith sent the message and got out of the car slowly. "Groups. I should have a good time with this...How unfortunate." She walked over and looked around at all the people. There were no open groups, or at least none that she could see. If that was the case, then it would be alot more easier to work. "I hate school!"

His phone rumbled for a second and he looked to see what the message was. he nodded at it. Luckily the whole building looked more like a radar dome and had technology no one besides the makers would understand so anyone would think it was a defense silo. Jeoff got ready to greet the class though he really didn't want to.
Kathy wasn't late though she too lacked a group. No one wanted to go with her. She didn't ask anyone nor did they ask her. It was surprising how little gothic people there was in the school and others just didn't look at them the same and she was only a wannabe. Kathy sighed, she wanted to grab a smoke but she couldn't with the class and all, not to mention she knew she would be seeing her father. Holding her hand and to her right was her little brother. They didn't have any school today so she was the only one that could watch him since Jeoff was always busy. Luckily Matt was allowed to come. "Kat, this is boring." The little boy replied with a sigh. She only shook her head quietly.

The language teacher looked around and seen the few stranglers that arrived late or that didn't have a group yet. " Faith, Kathy, Lucas & Lynn you four will be a group. You all have the assignment. So I hope you all complete it in the allotted time" the grey haired man announced.
Both the boys nodded, and rolled their eyes. Of course they had the damn assignment. They weren't compelte idiots like the people who took this course just for their college application. Well they did too but it was mostly just to hang out and get an ok grade. The boys walked over to Kathy and her younger brother. " Guess in a a group hmm?" Lucas asked rhetorically.

Faith sighed and noticed the three. She walked over to them, taking out her assignment. "Is it ok...If I do this assignment alone?" She asked them. This was the first time she had actually talked to them, even though she saw them often at school. It seemed as if she avoided everyone at the school, and seemed to keep to herself, but she would be sometimes seen with a teacher, or in the principal's office, almost never a student. On the first day of her school, she had told herself that friends weren't needed, and that she didn't care. There were people who liked her and there were people she could talk to, and she did, but still, it was obvious that she didn't have any close friends.
She slipped out her phone and looked at it with annoyance. Because of school, she had to check her phone often, to see for any of her work updates, and it was beginning to get on her nerves. "Meeting at five....I have another day full. Why can't they decide these type of things themselves. Surely, they don't need me...and if they do...I might need to replace them." Faith pocketed the phone, and tightened her glove. Tonight, she would have to get it checked before the meeting.
As she waited, she turned around to look at the place and she smiled. "This sure is a nice place...I should take a few pictures for Father Brendon... He would like to see everything..." Faith sighed, and pulled out the same camera she had used in the hallways, and began to take pictures. Click, Click, Click. All the pictures she took were of her surroundings, and none of them contained any people. "...It's not that I don't want to work with you...It's just...I'm not sure how I'll do...and I usually work alone..."
'The work was just a question and answer...All information was provided...but the last part is based on this dig. I'll do it later...I have to get to what is so important first though...and then talk to Jeoff...

Kathy positioned her hair so that it would help hide her cheeks as best she could. One side of her face wasn't a problem since she kept her hair fully over it but the other; she just didn't want to be caught blushing because of Lynn. "I-I guess so." She said softly then heard the other girl's comment and replied to it. "I'm sure you could handle yourself. If they need the help then I'll be here." She spoke softly then went back to her usual evasive state. Kat and this girl seemed to be the fastest in class at the work given to them, the other girl only being a bit faster. Matt tugged on Kathy's arm and she kneeled down to let him whisper in her ear. "You like him." And she shook her head. "Shh! I do not." She replied quietly and the boy only chuckled.

" As much as you'd like that, your pretty much guaranteed a failing mark for the rest of the course. We do alot of group projects. And this one I think is fifty five percent of our final mark" explained the brunette. He tooked out a pad of unlined paper and a pencil. And looked at the rest of his group.
" Come on darling. You don't want to mess up your perfect record now don't cha. And don't tell me you don't have one. It's common knowledge now. Your brilliant" the blond commented. He flashed his pearly white smiled, and titled his head off the the left. This was one of his classic flirting techniques.
The younger boy merely shook his head an sighed. " Come on Romeo lets just do this and you can ask her out after were done".
That brought a slight blush to the taller boy's face. " Hahaha. Thanks for the advice".

Faith tilted her head to the side and gave out a heavy sigh. He was right, and the teacher had explained that to the class a couple days back. She was hoping to get away from them as soon as possible, but obviously, it wouldn't be possible for now. She would just have to wait until after this was over, or find away to sneak away. Today was just another bundle of joy in her life. This day was one of those bad days that didn't go right, but of course, there were much more worst days than this.
"Come on darling. You don't want to mess up your perfect record now don't cha. And don't tell me you don't have one. It's common knowledge now. Your brilliant." He seemed to be flirting with her.
She gave out a small chuckle and looked to the boy. "I suppose...and I get that a lot." Faith smiled and chuckled again. If only this kid knew, she thought. The younger boy had said something that caused her to laugh a bit more. It seemed to her that this happened alot with the two, but she turned her attention to Kathy.
"Faith Hill. Your's?" She asked. The girl seemed to hold more than she was letting through. "I've noticed your preformance in class, and I say its very nice." Faith extended her hand and gave a smile. "You shouldn't smoke, though. You're underaged." After she said this, her smile widened and she wondered if Kathy was the daughter that Jeoff seemed to talk about alot.

Kathy looked up to the girl then glanced at her brother who had his mouth widened but quickly shook her head. "Kathy Bou. This is my little brother, Matthew." She said. Not only did the boy she liked now know she smoked but also her brother who would surely pass it on to her father then she'll never get any cigarrettes because he'd hide them from her. "You're faster." She said with a small, fake smile. It's not that she disliked the girl, it's that now she had to think of ways to get away from the predicament that would be brough upon her soon enough.
"The architect hasn't arrived yet." Some men reported to Jeoff as he nodded. "We'll just have to wait until he arrives." He replied and the other man nodded and left. Jeoff rubbed his head annoyedly. 'I just want to finish this crap up.'

He never suspected Kathy of actually smoking, but in the goth stererotypical role I guess it was in the norm for them. Lynn neither supported the habit but he didn't knock it off either. More then a couple of times had a pack of smokes saved his life from his now desceased father. The brunette wondered closer to the the erected stone tablet. He jotted down some words, then some what appeared to be asian symbols, and then a few arabic letters. Curious the young boy grabbed onto one of the sides and swung himselves around to another part. One side of the stone remnant was level on flat ground, the other side was a rather steep hill. Lynn desperately tried to memorize some of the words and symbols to copy down. A light tickling feeling was running through his hand, before he knew it, the boy started to roll down the dirt/sandy hill.
