"Matthew...Your sister and I are friends...and if she gets into trouble...you will, too." Faith smiled at him and looked up at Kathy. "I'll be happy to be at your assistance...if your brother ever tells. I'm allowed certain things... that others are not...but it would be best to not shorten your life. If you ever reach sucess, you might not live through it long enough." She opened her bookbag and pretended to look through it, revealing to Kathy a pack of smokes. "Matthew...I heard there is a new game out. You want to buy it?" She asked with one of her usual grins.
Before the boy could reply, she passed him some money. "Have a good day." She walked away from the two and toward the rock that they were supposed to be studying. After a few moments, of writing down the needed information, she heard the cries of nearby students, pointing over to one side of the rock. This was troublesome.
Faith looked over, and noticed a familiar person, rolling down a steep hill, and she cursed. "The mist. If he manages to get up from here...he'll have to go through the mist to get back up here..." This really was going to be troublesome. What was she supposed to do though? Faith knew what was passed the mist, but as a normal highschooler, she would have to fear the fog. She walked away from the edge and cursed again. This was certainly something that would need to be reported.

Kathy felt a little more at ease as Matt accepted the bribe with a chuckle. Suddenly she looked over a Lynn again and sighed. Her sigh soon turned to a gasp as he seemed to slip. She quickly let go of Matt's hand then ran over to the side. She quickly moved the hair from her other eye to see better. Sure enough he was rolling down into the mist. "No! Lynn!" She yelled as she jumped and also began rolling down. She didn't understand why she did, the boy didn't even seem to notice her rather to like her. She regretted jumping, she felt doomed, afraid, and helpless.
Matt was shocked by it. He just stood there wondering why she had jumped, why her? He now felt that he was never going to see his sister again.
Hearing the sudden ruckus happen outside Jeoff made his way out of the building and over to Faith and pointed at her. "You, what happened?" He asked, acting as if he didn't know her.

" Ahh!" the boy screamed. This would probably mean the end for him. No one ever came back frmo the mists. It was simply unheard of. He shut his eyes, and tried to his his body close together, unfortunately that was a horrible idea. Lynn started to gain momentum down the slope. Squinting, the boy was learning there was land here but .....
Lucas stared in disbelief in what just happened. That kinda creepy goth chick just jumped over the cliff thing. " Hey what happened" he whispered to one of his school mates. The blonde boy was to pre-occupied by the stunning Faith. " Lynn slipped and fell down the slope and that Kathy girl jumped after him". Shocked Lucas stood there, his mouth gaping; his stare glazed over. The words ' He's not coming back' echoed again and again in his mind. " Not coming back" he murmured.

This was the product of the project that had began long before her birth and from her ancestor's times. They were truly frightened and thought of the mists as death. She mentally smirked and looked up to see Jeoff. "Your child could be brilliant...but there are a few things holding her back. I suggest checking for things hazardous to her life..." She whispered to Jeoff, moving closer to him. "Since she is...my friend and your daughter...I don't know what to do. Should I assign her for reconditioning? The other option...because she is not another person...is unheard of. I won't kill her. The other child should be either killed or put through reconditioning..."
Faith smiled at Jeoff and backed away a bit. "Since you are the one leading this are...the choice is your's. Your child has a slight crush on the boy though...and you know me...Even I have feelings for the children." After she whispered that to him, she moved away more, and turned to look at the mists. Usually people were put through recondioning, or they were put to death. After their memories were gone, the memories were replaced with fake ones, and they were forced to live new lives, but for those who were children, or still in school, it was different. Children were usually sent to a special school that taught the truth to them. It was required for them, because they would become apart of the group of leaders over Clandestine, the government. "You know the process."
Faith turned away from the mists and closed her eyes. "This is the law...and all bugs are crushed, while the humans live on. Remember that Jeoff. If we do not follow...we may be the ones who are crushed...It pains me to think that it is your daughter and her friend..." No, it didn't hurt her as much as she made it sound to be. She really didn't care too much about it, and if Jeoff knew her better, he would know. After all, she was the one to take down her dear brother.

Not long past when everything when foggy. It was how it was. Would she never see life again, will she fall forever without reaching anything? Kat was afraid but she didn't yell nor did she cry. She just groaned as she would occasionally hit a rock which hurt like hell. It was now she wished most for a smoke though she wouldn't even be able to smoke it while falling.
Jeoff took out a cigarrette and lit it and breathed in the toxic smoke heavily. "There's only two choices.." He mumbled. "They both be reconditioned... Or.. Kathy joins the school to be my replacement... And the boy... Never returned from the mist.." He sighed but that was how it was supposed to be. The girl was brilliant but he didn't want her to be involved in all this but it was too late. He either loses a daughter or ruins her life. He took another heavy inhale then let out an equally heavy exhale.
Matt quickly ran up to Jeoff and spoke up. "Daddy! Kat fell! She's not coming back daddy!" He cried. Ever since their mother died Kathy was always the one to take care of Matt, and now he believes that would never happen, and from the looks of things, it won't.

At long last the boy hit the bottom, he groaned, slowly moving himself into a sitting position. He opened his eyes and couldn't see anything, he couldn't hear anything either. " Great I'm going to die down here" he muttered in anger. The slightest movement of his arms and legs made him wince. " What going to happen now?" the boy asked into the thick fog.

"Ugh!" She yelled as she hit the surface. She slowly pulled herself up. "Ow! Damn that hurt!" She complained while rubbing her head. She then looked around dazed just looking upon nothing and eternal fog, or so she though. She then remembered Lynn and gasped. "Lynn!" She called as she slowly began to regain her composure. She was still alive and she had to make the best of it. "Lynn!?" She called again, hoping to hear an answer. She moved her hair behind her ears and for once felt better not having hair stick into her eye, she felt, relieved.

The beige car swerved into the parking area the silo, as it double parked between two spaces. "Leave it to me to lock myself in the study without the key..." He said aloud to his wife. "I hope he doesn't ask for an explanation. That would be very embarrassing." Lian couldn't help but chuckle. They spent hours trying to find the key, only to learn it was in Gordon's breast pocket. "And what in the hell is so funny?" He snapped from stress. The woman inched in and embrace him from the side. "Don't be so angry, honey." She began. "You've always been punctual before...he'll probably understand this tardy. Just try not to worry so much." "But...I'm not going to be my meeting my boss, I'm meeting with the boss of my boss. A completely different man." The woman quirked her smile. "The one you've been talking about? Well...if he is as bad as you say he is, you should just stop working for him..." "I know but...oh wait, there he is. Let's keep quiet about this, okay.? I need to go see him now." He hushed them both up. Lian kissed him on the cheek before he departed. Watching Gordon approach Dr. Boe.

"Jeoff, pick something. I told you that since I'm leading an investigation at the school, and not leading this area, I'm not allowed to pick this time, unless you can't. Once Kathy is reconditioned, you know the rules. Any contact from people here is unacceptable and you know what the government will do. She joins the school, and you can visit...She'll remember everything, but she is forced to work in your job and any slip ups will result in death or reconditioning."
Faith found herself laughing in the inside. She was being nice today, and usually she wouldn't let people choose. Usually the group and her picked, and the first thing said would be carried out. They were always quick and precise. Everything was. If a law was broken, they were never seen again, and if something was seen unhealthy for the government, it would be rid off. When you weren't in the government, you saw Clandestine run differently, and simply ignored everything, to continue living your own life. But once you knew of the truth, you saw Clandestine differently.
"Their lives rest in your's Jeoff and you know that the guards won't move until the order is given out, so they may wander a while down there."
Faith smiled and turned to see a man. Immediately in her mind, she wondered who he was, but then she realized who he was as he walked closer to Jeoff. The man was one of the best architects in the city. "You have nice taste. I liked how you chose him for this structure...How did you get a hold of him?"
She adjusted her glove once more and gave a nasty smile to him. "Alert the guards of your decision and it shall be done. Now...I should go, and leave you to your buisness with this man. It would be considered as rude if I stayed. See you when time allows it." Faith waved good bye and looked down at his child. The child wouldn't know of anything and it was sad, but she wasn't as affected by it. "Matthew...Be careful." She patted him on the head and walked away.
"I have an assignment to finish, bye!" She walked over to the stone and looked over the edge. This was really fun. The last time she had been this excited was when she graduated from the secretive school. Her two classmates would be captured and they would meet her at the main office of Clandestine. "Later, when it is right...I'll tell them of what is to happen. If death, then they deserve the truth before they rest."

Jeoff nodded as she walked away. 'My daughter will be my replacement.. The boy will be killed on sight.' He thought to himself, coming to a straight decision that would be told to the gaurds. He flicked the cigarrette out of his hand and watched it roll down the slope. He then noticed Gordon and gave a fake smile. "Hello Gordon." He said and held his hand out to shake. "It is nice to finally meet the man who have built such a great place to look at, also found an ancient stone." He said, not even mentioning the man's tardyness. "I apologize to cut this introduction short but I'm very busy now. Appearantly two young ones fell off the cliff." He shrugged. "There isn't anything we can do but hope it was quick." The man acted as if he cared little and was doing it quite well. "I'll allow you to introduce the stone to the class. I'm sure you can handle that." He said and walked into the building with his son in his hand, still crying miserably.

Gordon was stunned. This was the man who made a big deal of everything, and this time, his mistake must have slipped his mind. He wasn't complaining though. He quickly straightened out his tie, and approached the stone. Wiedling the mircophone that would be amplified by the many speakers around this (exhibit?) He began tp speak. "This stone is what we uncovered as we were constructing this wonderful structure." His weak intro started. Lian was listening to him from afar and began laughing. She knew he wasn't vey charismatic, and it was very funny to watch him try. "Umm...well, one of the workers uncovered it, not me. I was just overseeing the umm...err-hem, right. As you know, we believe this stone is inscribed with ancient texts. If you all can recognize that I've had an accent of sorts...well, this might be a slab of text from that said land...well, then...carry on." He put the mircophone down quickly, and ran for immediate shelter. Lian entered their care, the place Gordon decided to make his haven. She was still alughing from his little announcement. "Well, I'm glad to see you're happy about it." He remarked. "I'm sorry, it's just so cute when you try something like that. I shouldn't let you live it down." "Oh? Perhaps I should tell you my idea for your new career." Gordon replied with a smirk. "What announcement now?" Came the response. With a smile, Gordon flipped open the satellite phone, and began to dial. (I'm curious to how cell phones work...in Clandestine...Haha the city's name is exactly what it is...clandestine.)

"We have an alert. If you find the girl, have her come directly to me. The boy is to be killed on sight." Jeoff ordered to some gaurds and they saluted obediently. Matt was confused and stayed quiet besides a small little whimper here or there. Suddenly his cell phone rang. Jeoff picked it up and looked at the name, it was Gordon. "May I help you Gordon?" He said quickly but calmly as he quickly made his way to his office.

"Finished..." Faith put the papers into her bag and she looked over the edge.
"He loves her too much...and it shows in his eyes. I should keep close with the girl and I'll be annoyed if this hinders Jeoff's ability to work. Who would ever think that a day like this would be so troublesome? I absolutely hate it."
She took out the camera again and began to snap even more pictures of the place, and even more of the stone. Now that everyone was looking over the edge for the two, there was space to properly check out the rock. Faith sat down at the edge and stared into the fog.
"Humans know humans...and only humans can truly kill humans..." She muttered.

"I have a proposal to make. I know your new installation is in need of technicians." Gordon began. "I know this may be a bit sudden, but I would like to know if my wife could take employment as one of these technicians. If you look at her record, you'll see she has a degree computer management."

Jeoff rubbed his chin. 'We do need more technicians, and now that my daughter has fallen I'm going to need the extra help.' He thought to himself and replied. "That is sudden Gordon.. Yet you're in luck, I've run into alot of work as of recently and I could use an assistant if she think she's up for it. However, this isn't a job she can simply walk away from at any moment.." He said simply without giving anymore information. 'If she refuses to comply then she'd have to be reconditioned..' He said mentally and awaited the man's answer. Matt continued to cry and still didn't understand why his father wasn't doing anything to help Kat.
