Gordon quickly relayed Lian the information, and told her to be quick with a response. A few moments later, she decided she wanted the job. "Alright, she's made a descision, and even agreed to that little side note. She's willing to take the job." He told the older man through the phone.

Jeoff stood from his chair. "I'll be out there in a second." He said and hang up. He went to the text messenger and sent one to Faith, basically saying he's hiring a new technician but giving minimal information.
Jeoff left his office, leaving his son there to sob. He then left the building and greeted the two yet again. He inspected Lian and nodded. "If you would please come with me." He said then looked to Gordon. "I apologize Gordon, I cannot allow you in." He said then entered the facility and held the door open politely for Lian.

Lian followed the older man, and nodded in appreciation as he held the door open. Her attitutude seemed to have completely changed from what is was about five minutes ago. She inspected inside of this complex. -Wow...I appreciate him hiring me so sudden, but I wasn't even tested or anything...- she mentally noted, waiting for Jeoff to explain what she was to do.

The phone gave out a slight beeping noise and Faith sighed. Who was it now? She pulled out the phone and she cocked her eyebrow upon reading the message Jeoff had sent her. He hired another person with minimal information? She stood up, turning to the facility with a sigh. Jeoff was responsible for the technician and if anything happened there was a possibility of him being blamed. Faith was going to have another short meeting with him and the new worker, but right now, she wasn't in her proper clothing. No one was going to pay attention to a person who looked like a high schooler, right?
She text the man back with haste. The message asked him if he wanted her to come an meet with him and his new technician. "If the person plays the cards right...then maybe...we'll allow more information..." Faith didn't really care too much for how many technicians Jeoff controlled, but still, she wondered why he needed another worker. She thought for a while and connected it to the incident that had just happen.
"I feel...a bit sad...I suppose."

Jeoff's cell gave a slight vibration as he recieved a message. "Please, excuse me for a second." He said to the girl and took it out and replied back. The message was saying that he wants to meet with her at 5 the next day to discuss it then call over Lian at 6, he had things he wanted to inform Faith of. With that he slipped the phone back into his pocket. "Before I explain what you'll be doing, I want you to make an oath here and now that everything that is and happens in this room stays in this room both physically and mentally."

Lian looked at him. What could be possibly be so important she couldn't tell her husband? Well, right now, she didn't seem to mind. "Alright. I shall make my vow." She replied.
In the car, Gordon was waiting. "Boy I hope he isn't doing anything to her in there...she's still my wife damn it!" The accented man shouted. By now, the laughing of his announcement should have quelled, and he proceeded outside. He wanted a better look at this stone. Unfortunately, rather large mobs formed around it, all wanting to see this said "ancient text".

Jeoff nodded. "There's three floors. This is the first, you'll be here most of the time with the other five technicians. This is where we run everything. The second floor is basically full of offices. If you're not working here then you're working up there on your computers to analyze the density of the mist to see if it... Clears up." He said, the last two words coming out quieter. "The only difference between you and the other technicians is I might call you to assist me with my own duties since they've stacked up quite rapidly lately. Don't worry, your pay will be better. Basically what we do here is try to clear up the fog... So far we've managed to gain a couple of feet of space but it hasn't done a whole lot.. Yet.." He said and his eyes seemed to wander, something was obviously on his mind. "You may start Thursday.. Two days from now. Tomorrow we're going to have a meeting with my boss." He said and nodded signalling that that is all. He then began walking up the spiral stairs up to where his office was.

Faith checked her watch and sighed. This field trip was taking too long and she wanted to get her hand checked and get home now. The inside of her glove felt wet, but she had only realized it until now. She took a seat in her car, and sat there, waiting for the school day to end. She looked to the passenger seat beside her and picked up the plastic bag that she had put her apple in. It was that stupid fruit's fault. "..but I'm hungry..."
She took the bag and opened it, pulling out a small apple slice to eat. "Juicy..." She commented, munching. If her life wasn't so packed then maybe she wouldn't be munching on a piece of fruit that she didn't like, and maybe, she wouldn't be so irritable all the time. A lot of things annoyed her and she was bored with other things. Sometimes she wondered how everything would be like if she didn't take his offer. "I should bring a banana...You don't have to slice those up... I swear. I swear the apples have something against me..."

Lian left the complex, and met up with her husband. "So how'd you do?" Gordon said, as they approached their car. "I start in two days." She responded, soothing an itch on her arm. "What are you monitoring?" The husband began again. "I'm wondering why the building needed all that seemingly random equipment." "Uhh...well...uhh." Lian was searching her mind for something. She wasn't allowed to tell even her husband anything. "Haha! Confidential, is it? I understand you completely. You're not allowed to tell me anything." He replied chceerfully, happy they could finally leave this boring place. The building was amazing, but most just came to stare at that rock. The beige car left it's illegal position, before a ticket man could issue one, and sped in the direction of the housing complexes.

More and more people came to gaze at this ancient artifact but the blond couldn't help think of his friend and how everyone assumed that if you went through the Mists you'll never be seen again. "ARGH!" he growled. This was starting to irratate him immensely. " Why is it no one sends a fucking search party to the mists?" he muttered. From what he learned in History class and what he had seen in his short years of life, that is no one ever searched through the Mists. It was taboo.

Faith stared out of the window beside her, waiting for anything from the Guard. She had finished her apples, and even if they were juicy, she still hated them. Her phone rang and she picked it up, answering it to hear, "We are beginning the search now. Orders are to bring the girl to Dr. Bou and kill the boy on sight." Her eyes widened at the last part, and her hand went to her face. They were going to kill Lynn? Normally, she would have let it happened, but for some reason she couldn't allow his death. "I must feel...a bit sad..." She guessed it was because she was around normal people this time.
"What?" Faith asked calmly.
"We are searching and we will kill the boy on sight, and bring the girl to Dr. Bou. Is it alright, Sir?" A gruff voice replied. She could tell that they were eager to go through the Mists. Now, people didn't go through the Mists often, so the Guard wasn't really used as much, but they were still hidden in the Mists, waiting for their next mission. There were no wars in Clandestine, but the Mists Guard were pretty much like the army. People wouldn't rise up, would they?
"No, it's not alright. Keep this secret from everyone else. Yes, bring the girl to Dr. Bou, but do not kill the boy. Take him and bring him to City Hall after...school hours. Keep this secret and tell Dr. Bou that he is dead..." She paused and closed her eyes. "Hmm...I wonder why..."
"'scuse me, Sir?"
Faith shut off her phone and turned to the swirling Mists. She remembered being afraid of it, and remember losing some of her childhood friends from it. "Maybe that's why...It's because I've been there and because I know you...Heh, coming up with these reasons...is just bullshit. " Faith smiled and tapped on the steering wheel. "No...It's because of Kathy..."

"LYNN!!" She called for about the twentieth time before she just sat into the dirt and sighed. 'He must be dead.' She thought and took off her torn up backpack and to her suprise the pack of cigarrettes were still in there. She praised god and took one of the cyllinders out and placed it between her lips. She then reached in for a lighter but unfortunately that didn't have the same luck. She cursed and threw the death stick miserably to the dirt. She was tired both physically and mentally, what was worse is that she doomed herself for someone that might've died on impact.
"She'll be ok Matt." Jeoff replied when he entered his office as the boy lay on the sofa near the desk and continued to weep. "N-no she's not! She fell into the Mist! The boogey man is going to get her!" He cried and the man sighed. "She'll come back... She will son.. Don't worry." He was at a loss of words, he wanted to him how safe she really is but now that he thought of it, he really wanted to make himself believe that.

The young boy, finally stood up, frantically brushing away all the grime off of his clothing. " this is useless" he grumbled. He took a quick look around, he noticed that he could actually see at least five feet away. Lucky him, eh? That didn't hlep him much actually. It seemed pretty futile to move from his current position.
They seamlessly moved about, their infra-red goggles on. They found their target. From their current position he seemed like the allotted hieght that their Boss lady told them. " Move on my signal and then take him to City Hall. Remember this mission is retrieval only. And he is meant to be kept alive. Knock him out, or whatever you want she just wants him alive and to be at her office after four o'clock.
The men stormed in, the brunnette had very little chance to defend himself, but Lynn thought that he at least threw in a good punch. Sighing slightly the man in charge prepared for the target to be fighting back. So he slipped a cloth filled with chloroform(spelling?) to his nostrils and held it there until he was limp and unconcious. They carried the youth to the vehicle and then headed off to city hall. There the squad leader waited with the child, counting the minutes until he could be doing something a tad more useful.

Faith sighed, and checked the time again. It was time for her to change, and go to the city hall. She stopped by at home quickly, dropping off her book bag, changing, and cleaning the wound she had given herself earlier. She had changed into dark green suit and her jacket had covered a long-sleeved white blouse. Faith had changed into shiny, black shoes, and pulled on white gloves with the Clandestine symbol on them. She took a brush and a suitcase with her to the car, and drove off to her office. While she drove, she brushed her hair, and checked the time.
"Almost time..." She parked her car and locked it when she got out. Faith placed her suitcase on the hood of her car, and opened it to take out a bar of chocolate. The bar was held it in her mouth, so she could close the suitcase and soon, walk to city hall. The building was heavily guarded with people armed with the latest guns. It didn't seem like it, but there were cameras in the building. The place was as heavily guarded as the defense silo from earlier.
"You really shouldn't eat that, Sir...you can gain weight and you will most likely never get married." A guard said to her, as she passed him. "You look different...than when you are posing as a highschool student."
"Hmph. I know, but I'd rather keep a virgin...and not be a mere toy to men. Of course I look different...Clothes tell different and it is all in how you present yourself to others. You should know that, right? Now...where is the squad leader and the boy? I have important buisness with them...and don't have much time before the gov't meeting. Are they in my office?" The man nodded and she smiled. Faith opened the door to her office slowly and moved to her desk. She took her seat and waited for someone to speak. "I'm here."

Kathy walked on for a few more hours. "Why? I'm so stupid! Why did I follow him!? He doesn't even like me..." She sighed. She still managed to hold her head together and keep from crying though she was getting to that point. "I am going to die here... No one is coming for me." She said to herself and sat down on a rock and hugged her knees. "Matt... Be good..." She whispered and sighed again. There was absolutely nothing she could do. Endless fog.. An extraordinary tall and steep cliff, she had absolutely nowhere to go. "No food... No drink... No Lynn... Worst of all... No smokes. Was it just my imagination?"
