Natalie looked around frantically until she saw the shelves of milk. She took a deep breath and ran for it. Steve quickly set off in pursuit. Seeing her helpless, her back to the milk shelves Natalie began to doubt herself but she took another deep breath. Steve smirked, knowing the cop wouldn't shoot him he decided not to waste precious shotgun shells so he charged at Natalie. "STOP VANDALIZING MY STOOOOOREEEE!!" He shouted and when he was close enough Natalie quickly took a milk carton and bowled it. For once a good roll, Steve didn't expect it and ran it over. Not only did the cart tip over, flinging the shotgun out in the open, but also the milk broke opened spilling the contents everywhere. Steve fumbled to keep his balance but slid. Taking this time Natalie rushed at Steve and leapted on him. "Carmen! THE GUN!!" She shouted as she struggled with the screaming psycho as he began bludgeoning her with his fists.

Carmen watched Natalie's heroic antic, feeling very helpless, that she couldn't even bring herself to kill this man. But this was the opening they had been waiting for, as she ran for the shotgun. She had a perfect shot from her...only issue was that Natalie was in the way. She couldn't use this weapon yet. Putting it aside, she reinstated the Beretta, and got her aim. She could hear Steven screaming, shouting about how much he loved his store, asking who would run it when he was gone...almost like he was crying. It was too much, she'd never really dealt with anything like this before. She wanted to end this quickly. "Natalie...move!" She shouted in a command voice. When she was out of her sight, Carmen closed her eyes and pulled the trigger. When the screaming ended, she knew the bullet hit its mark. And when she looked over him, Steven had a hole in his shoulder, and his head. His eyes were still open. Taking a deep breath, she fell on her butt. "I'm not surprised an incident like this would cause a man to go insane..." She began"...but, it...I cannot fathom how it would turn someone around this bad." Standing up, she approached Natalie, and put the handgun in her hand. "I don't mean any offense by this in anyway...but I kind of wish it was you who put the bullet in him." Kneeling by the body, she closed his eyes for him. "Come on...let's finish up here..."

While struggling with Steve she pondered how to get away from him now but as she was trying to break free now Steve didn't really know and kicked her off of him then the shot rang out. Natalie's right eye was red and her lip was bleeding but it was in a desperate attempt. This man had to be on some kind of drugs. "Ugh..." She put her hand over her eye, it stung like hell. When Natalie approached her she only nodded and picked herself off of the soppy ground. "Maybe we could use his shopping cart to carry the stuff..." She suggested as she looked towards the pharmacy. "Go ahead and grab some food... I'll be right back..." She said then left Carmen to get the medicine, but not before turning back to call out. "Thanks.. By the way... For shooting... I.. I wouldn't have been able to.." She turned back around and entered through the back doors.

She was running and turning to look behind her every 5 seconds. Lana knew full well that a number of Them where following her. She looked up in front of her and saw Seon's. "The pharmacy!" She pulled open a door and slipped through it quickly, tripping over Alecs as she went through. She had managed to turn and fall right onto her back. Lana watched as the monsters banged on the now closed door and let her head and body rest. "...Ah...I shouldn't have put the wrench in my backpack."
After a few minutes of just sitting there, she slowly stood up and looked through the doors. The doors were the only things protecting her from death and were the only things that stood between Them and her. Her back still hurt from landing on the wrench, but she didn't like the idea of being so near to the things. "...I should gather food..." Lana walked around awkwardly while holding her back, looking for food that she could easily fit in her backpack and that could be eaten without the need of cooking.
"I shouldn't fill my backpack with only food..." She reminded herself. She would need to get some medical supplies. Lana picked up some wonder bread and stuffed it into her bag with a jar of jelly. "But...I should get enough food..."

The doors to this store were originally opened, so Carmen thought it strange to hear them slam. Putting down the basket of her current gatherings, she took Steve's shotgun and headed for the direction of the entrance. When she reached it, she saw the zombies were banging on the doors, trying to get in. The sight startled her. "Damn it...someone must have brought them here." she mumbled. Maybe some roving loner who was going to make camp here. Either way, the only aisle with any food left was the one they had first met Steven at.
She slowly approached it, hearing the shuffling of boxes and cartons. It was likely a human, so she instead shouldered the shotgun and walked coolly into the aisle. "Think you've brought enough friends?" she said to Lana, not actually knowing it was her. "You know in doing so, it is going to be hard for us to get out with these supplies now."

Eugene crept through the near-deserted North Plaza, keen to any zombie (or sniper) he might encounter. The creaking of beat-up shopping cart wheels manifested itself and he cocked his head. "Good. if they need a cart, we'll have quite a haul to bring back." He made a right, then doubled back, parallel to the way he came. "Huntin' Shack should be at the end of this God forsaken hallway." he murmured. Zombie corpses were becoming more plentiful now. Looking at the blatantly clear "gunshop" on the sign, He noticed something wrong. "Something definitely went wrong here, "He mouthed, noting the shattered glass and smashed gun racks."This might not be the best time to disturb anyone..." Trying his best to not look like a zombie in any way, shape, or form, He stood up straight, picked up his feet, and walked through, hands in the air. It felt like a hard blow to the torso, like getting punched in the stomach. the only issue was that those generally were not accompanied by trickles of warm liquid. "TWICE! IN 15 FUCKING MINUTES! oh-" getting up was little out of the question right now. It stung, but the vest took the brunt of the damage and showed it. wearing it was nothing but extra weight any more. "You shot me... with A SHOTGUN! the least you could do is drag my ass in there!"

"Yeah. They're all hungry...and getting out of this store isn't going to be as hard as you think it is." She reached up for a box of cereal, not bothering to look at Carmen. She was too busy wondering what she was going to do. "It's harder getting through a mall...by yourself with only a wrench and a garbage poker...Also harder fighting when covered in blood and stuff like that...When you're surrounded by all of Them...that's hard. Besides the door opens outward...so if you push it...the monsters will be pushed away...and you can hit them with whatever you got."
She turned her back and looked for something everyone could drink. "Let's be glad that it doesn't open inward and that they probably won't beat open the door." Lana put two fingers in her mouth and whistled. "Alecs!" Her dog came running over and she petted him. "Let's see if we can find you something to eat...And then we'll get something from the pharmacy...God damn...my back hurts..." After saying this, she pulled out the wrench from her backpack and looked around for more items she could manage to carry.

Alyssa fired the shotgun at a zombie seeming to be reaching for something on the roof, probably some meat splattered up there. Hearing the zombie oddly swear Alyssa then noticed what it was. "Oh shit, he's alive." She told the other two. She lowered the gun. "You fucking moron! What the hell are you thinking playing charades as a fucking zombie and expect not to be shot!" She fumed at the unknown man. "You're stupider than the zombies! I should shoot you again for your sake!" She continued to insult as she put her hand to her head and rubbed it annoyedly. She was calming now. "Get the hell in here dumbass." She called, she wasn't sure if she hit him or not but she didn't care. From the looks of it it had hit him in the vest so he should be fine. She moved her hand from her head to her hip as she waited for the man.
Natalie slowly entered the pharmacy and thanked god when this portion hadn't been raided. She quickly pocketed as much medical supplies as she could. There was mostly pills though, she decided to take some pain relievers and perhaps a few others. She wished she knew what all she needed. She was safe here, she decided to sit on the floor and rub her eye tiredly.

Carmen rolled her eyes as Lana departed. "Who'd be stupid enough to lead things like that to a supply point? Hell, who'd want to have an encounter in the first place?" She said aloud to herself, as she went back for her basket. Once back at the milk station, she picked up the basket, then looked at the cart Steven had put together. "Hmm...perhaps there will be use for this thing. She put the cart back on its wheels, and set up the sharp objects so they would stick out the sides again. "We'll mow and opening with this thing. Looks like there is enough room for some supplies." She stocked up the basket with what she could, and placed it in the cart. "Time to find Natalie again."
Having wheeled over to the pharmacy, she was surprised to see it heavily stocked. "Guess everyone was just hungry. Gotta leave it to that guy though...his store probably had everything. Maybe he'll have a hunting section." She joked with herself. Leaving the cart by the counter, she began to explore a bit. Beside one of the shelves, it appeared Natalie was on the ground. From here it looked like she was crying. Carmen approached her, from the rear. "How are you feeling?"

"...I lack things people need for survival..." Lana admitted, while leaning against one of the isles. Her dog rested at her feet and she sighed. "Who'd be stupid enough to lead things like that to a supply point? Hell, who'd want to have an encounter in the first place?" The cop was right. She was stupid and lacked in common sense. She was so afraid that she couldn't actually think and function properly. "Always needing to depend on others to help me out...Wow, this is the first time I've actually ever been alone..." Lana walked around and looked for more food she could get. "...More mistakes and for sure, I'll die..."

"Playing charades as a ZOMBIE! If you didn't just make me mobile, I would have turned your head into a splatter on the wall!" He laid on his back, pushing his torso up on his elbows. "I'm here helping other survivors, now are you gonna sit there and scowl at your own stupidity?" He tried to get up, but his core muscles still refused to work. "You pretentious prick. Shoot me, insult me, and continue to shoot me dirty looks from across the room. At this point, if you were eaten, I'm die a happy man." I can't let my temper get the best of me again... He pulled himself up on a stool, making the trip to his feet just that much easier. Staring right into her eyes, he waited for a reply.

"Who is the old coot?" Brandon questioned, feeling stronger now that hope was tangible. "You two looked like you knew the guy." They were reaching an Employee Entrance Only area. "Security room? isn't that wide open to the mall too?" Brandon felt stupid following behind these people. "You know what? I'm just gonna stop talking."

"Dr. Barnaby." Brad answered Brandon's previous question. "We think he might know what's going on here but we can't ask him anything unless we can get him safely back to the security room." Eddy kept quiet, just carrying the girl was tough enough, she wasn't big but that didn't pass up the fact that she was heavier than she looked. "The security room has been welded shut." Brad continued. "We have to get into a warehouse, ride the elevator in it up to the roof, from there there's a ventilation shaft that leads us straight to the security room, zombies don't know how to get into it."
"Yeah.." Natalie said as she rubbed her eyes. "I just have a headache.." She confessed as she took out a few pills from a tylenol bottle, it was day time so she wouldn't get drowsy. Taking out a bottle of water which she had taken a while ago and placed into her pocket she took the pills with ease and swollowed them. "I thought I heard you talking to someone..?" Natalie asked remembering that she heard voices a few minutes ago.
Alyssa's glare became supurbly angry as she raised her shotgun at the man again. "YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE I'LL KILL YOU!!" She shouted. Kevin, the wounded officer right by her sensed she was going to shoot and pushed the barrel away. Alyssa wasn't planning on firing but Kevin's grasp had startled her and she squeezed the trigger as the shot when off, the aim was far from Eugene since Kevin had pushed it out of the way. Kevin glared at Alyssa thinking she was going to shoot all along. "Shit." She mumbled defeated. David looked at her for an instant then at the newcomer as if they were children. Though wounded, he easilly stood leaning against the wall with his arms folded. He was only hit in the shoulder, it wasn't a serious wound.

"Oh? Yeah...it was that Lana lady." Carmen answered. "Speaking of which...there is a big swarm of zombies outside the door. Don't worry, we can use that cart to mow them down and make our escape....did you get everything you needed?" She studied the supplies she had gathered. Mostly pills; pain relievers and anti-anxiety. "Hmm...nice load. But we're probably going to need some other things." She began to search these shelves. They would need some kind of wrapping, anti-bacterial cream, something to treat open wounds. The only thing in this category should find were gauze pads and some neosporin. Shoving those into the cart near the counter, she noticed Lana walk by. "Hey!" She called, trying to sound friendly. She didn't know that she had heard her thinking out loud. "Listen, why do you put some of that in the cart. Got more room in there. Then we could all head back together."

"..." Lana turned to the woman and shrugged. "Sure..." She placed some of the foods that she had gathered into the care and looked at the medical supplies. "I supposed that it'll work...I hope no one will need a good sewing up...I never worked well helping out with that..." She stood there staring at the supplies in the cart, lost in her thoughts. Her mind was racing with questions and she was panicking and afraid of doing something wrong. Just then, Alecs barked at her and she snapped back to reality. "Yeah...I should find more stuff.."

"YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE I'LL KILL YOU!!" She pulled the trigger, but the cop knocked her off balance, and the pellets missed by a mile. "Alright, maybe we got off on the wrong foot. Hello." He looked at the two men, and one woman. "I'm Eugene. I'm here to collect weapons to aid a group of survivors. I know a safe place to hold up, where the zombies can't even touch. If you would like to come, feel free." He extended his right hand in the general direction of them all.

"So you guys think he knows what's going on here? That'd be a nice change... have some idea about the hell that surrounds us." Ascending a personal mountain was hard work, his keeping positive about Carly was just crazy. "I wish I had picked up a map at the Entrance Plaza. so far this all looks the same. So, the zombies can't get here at all, right?" It was rhetorical, but it was reassuring nonetheless. "And there's med supplies?" Today was looking up, at least considering the rest of this trip.
(This is an extended filler. It's big, but don't be intimidated... it goes nowhere... fast.)
