"Dont worry, w-weve seen worse." Roger replied. He seemed to underestimate how slippery the rocks were until he almost slipped and fell just after Lynn himself seemed to slip. "Jeeze! How can you people stand this place!?" Roger yelled out of fear and clinged to rock hard. His breathing was harsh then a small humming came from the hood, it was Mai. Roger seemed to calm down and his breathing slowed as he slowly began to descend.

" Its secluded and we don't have anything to worry about during winter unlike the summer where this trek wouldn't be as trecherous" Lynn told Roger. It's true though. The summer was the safe season around here. The flowers even bloomed then. He picked up the pace, and told Roger which ones were safe after he tested them out.

"So.." Roger began as he placed his thick brown buckled boot on a ledge. "Why was that man after you?" He asked curiously. Before Lynn could answer Mai spoke up. "Roger, it's none of our business. We can't risk getting caught in affairs that doesn't concern us, we have a job to do and we cant do it if we're running away from town to town or worse, dead." She said and Roger sighed. "...Sorry." He said after a minute's silence to Lynn.

" .... It's alright. That man was father. Well not my *real* father but the man who was there since I was born" Lynn spoke up... maybe that was enough to satisfy Roger's curiosity. He hoped it would be. Soon Lynn climbed up a ledge and sat on it till Roger and Mai would be up here with him. The ledge was stable and was wide enough for a cart. " Hurry up nightfall is coming and if you think its bad now wait till then" he said a little louder so Roger could hear it and without causing an avalanche.

Roger began to quicken his pace but slipped and quickly grasped a rock as a peice under his foot broke off and fell. Roger held on until he finally caught his footing again. Roger was going to ask more about Lynn's father but what just occurred startled him into forgetfullness. Finally Roger made it to the ledge and was breathing harshly, not all out of fear but also from cold and exhaustion. He was already feeling that if he were to lay down and close his eyes he would be asleep within seconds, even in the cold.

" Hey don't fall asleep on me, if you do that you and Mai will die out here. Because I know for certain I won't be able to carry you" he said. Lynn had sort of long chocolate brown hair which always got in his eyes, but thankfully it was not too thick. He stood about 5'8 with his boots. So that'd make him 5'7 1/2 weighing a hundred and thirty five pounds. He quickly took a flask off his belt and passed it to Roger. " Drink it, it'll warm you up" he said.

Roger put his hand on his head and shook it as he literally hit himself hard enough to leave a small red mark on his face which definately woke him up a bit more. With his boots Roger was about 5'4 1/2 but he was originally around 5'4, a bit small for his age but Mai seemed to be normal. Roger had quite large muscles due to the way he fights which isn't with sword but with his arms. He weighed around 140. Roger inspected Lynn and noticed he was a bit small for his age as well and that made him feel a bit more at ease. When Lynn handed out the flask Roger took it and stood staring at it a bit. 'Could it be poison? What is this?" He thought, trying to work up the trust to actually drink. Finally his desperate thirst took over and he began to drink, a bit much and quickly. He didn't realize that he was already drinking most of it.

Lynn just looked at Roger downing the fire wine. ' Well at least he'll be warm' he thought. Fire wine was a rarity in nation. But it was brewed in his village every season. It kept his people from turning into popsicles. " Roger I would suggest you don't have another drop or you'll be kinda tipsy..." he said slowly after looking at him lopsided. Lynn was about 14 now turning 15 next summer and he had more of a lithe figure compared to Roger's build. He had muscled but not as defined.

Roger stopped drinking then his face began to become pale. Mai poked her head out of the hood and gasped. Suddenly she traded places as the rabbit fell off the girl's head and onto the snow, unconcious. "Oh no! I should've told you! He's never had wine before." She said. Since they both shared feelings not only did her cheek her but the wine was having an effect, luckily for herself from having wine she was fine but he was totally unconcious. She picked Roger up and half unzipped the jacket and put Roger in her jacket then zipped it back up. "He should be nice and warm and there's a less chance of him falling out." She said and sighed, now she had to carry on with Lynn and she wasn't as strong as Roger, not by a long shot.

" From here on in it's just a short walk and were there. Maybe fifteen to twenty minutes before we get there" when he looked at the sun starting to set. Good thing too. Maybe the Priestess wouldn't mind if he slep at the church with these new comers and not tell his father. " Well come on before its night" he said. Lynn got up and started to walk to the left of the path. Looking back at Mai to see if she's coming.

Mai slowly got up and followed Lynn. The clothes she was wearing was not nearly as warm as the large black ruffled hair which now adorned her own head. He blue eyes gazed right and left then back to Lynn. "I dont mean to lower myself into the curosity of my brother, but why do you have a fake father?" In their country it was forbidden to marry a second time and oddly enough if there was a match between two of the opposite genders then there would be a same liking for their other halves.

" I think my mother wanted a father for me. I never knew mine and never met him. He and my mother apperantly had a small time together then went on their ways. So this new guy comes into her life after a few months later. It was a convenience really for her" he replied to Mai. Why was he saying all these personal things to a stranger? Oh well this world was strange enough not to be kind once in a while. " He knew I wasn't his. " I don't have his or my mothers eyes, and my hair isn't really this colour of brown. It was enchanted to look.... more normal" he continued on. His bright green eyes looked about the path they walked.

At first, Mai's expression seemed to say that she pitied him, but in fact she envied him. "I must be so wonderful to have even a fake father..." She said, her icy blue eyes wandering to the white ground. "When me and Roger were only six.... Imperial forces came and killed many of our town folk.. Including our mother and father..." She sighed heavily, she never really spoke about it, it would always sadden her. "And... You have something to look forward too... At least you can believe your father lives... But we saw with our own eyes..." She didn't want to cry but a tear began to run but froze instantly. She peeled off the icy tear and tossed it aside. "I'm sorry..." She said then put her arms against her stomach where the lump of Roger was and cradled him.

" Yeah but I don't know what my real father even looks like. My 'fake' father isn't what he seems to be. He despises me, he says the crudest things and always calls me down" he commented. " I'm sorry for your lost. It's true the Imperial attacks but even how secluded we are we hear things. This might not sound very nice but, your home must have either made them very angry like taking in a 'very' wanted person or learned of something they shouldn't" he said lowly. Looking up infront of him Lynn seen the wooden pillars lining the path now. The creavise was slowly thinning, just enough for a cow or something to pass.

"No... We did neither. The whole village thinks the Imperial attack was because they needed more land... But.. When me and my brother began our journey we found this in a town." She reached in her pocket and unfolded a large peice of paper. She then handed it to Lynn. It was a reward for the capture of anything with powers. "The imperials fear us.." She sighed. "I shouldn't have shown you this.." She said with a deep regret. 'I hardly know him. This could be an imperial village and he could easily kill us or capture us for a good amount of money. And since he hates his father he could easily move to a different town and start a life of his own with the money... I feel like Roger..' She thought. She then noticed how small the path was getting and her breathing became quicker and more harsh, she was clostraphobic. (sp?)
