Eugene hopped out of the vent to find the security room. A woman in a cheap Hawaiian shirt and shorts ran up to him and clenched his collar. "Who's gonna go first? WHO!" She ran off ranting, and he helped the disoriented newcomers into the room. "Excuse me. EXCUSE ME!" he clapped his hand against the hollow vent, and the thunderous reply managed to quell the riot. "What the hell is going on here?" A familiar tanned face rose from the crowd. "How will we all get out? there's a helicopter coming, and only what? four or- What- you son-uh-a-bitch." Brandon lunged at Eugene and unleashed a flurry of punches aimed at his face. "Jesus! Stop! Damn it!" He pulled his arms towards his face and a lucky catch put him in position for dominance. he began crushing the bronzed fist in his monstrous hand, and caught his throat in the other. With a face covered in two people's blood, he began to stand up, lifting Brandon above the ground. "get your ass out of here." he snarled, face contorted by rage and abuse. "Before I snap you in half." he sprinted out, and the room remained quiet, except for the muffled thumps of rubber against aluminum.

She's unarmed now... oh wait.. An axe.. All too easy. The sound of hollow boots slapped in the drenched blood. It was a slow pace then the man's bloody face was in clear sight. Not too far but not too close, the bloody machete in clear view. "When I'm done with you... You'll be regretting showing me that axe." His acidic voice growled as another echoing snicker came. He began strafing slowly to the right, keeping the same distance from the woman. Then as if there were no wait at all he charged her.

Luckily for Carmen, she'd been over by the area where the lawnmowers were being sold, and a plan had already formulated in her mind. But she didn't expect him to charge in so fast, and he was able to get the jump on her, as she felt the sharp blade cut a gash into the side of the same injured leg. She swore loudly, and swung the ax in wildly through staggering pain. She was greeted by the sound of Cliff shouting. She'd managed to swing low enough to sever the tendon in the calf, and he toppled over. His mobility was more or less neutralized...Carmen could still go around. And she did, dragging the ax behind her, and cut open the fuel tanks of four lawnmowers. The explosive liquid surrounded the injured man, and Carmen approached the spot of her first encounter with him. The broken shock prod lay there, and amongst the broken steel and plastic, the power cell lay, as it let off yet another spark. Nothing was said from either of them, as she drew her foot back, and kicked the device at him. It had collided with Cliff, giving him a painful shock, before landing into the liquid and igniting. The explosion was massive...and loud.
Carmen should have chosen a better place to launch the ignition starter, as this explosion knocked her some feet away from where she was originally standing. When the ringing in her ears had left, she stared at the inferno she had started in the hardware store. No sign of the aggressor. But she out on the floor of the North Plaza now, and that sound...if not the blazing light that shattered the darkness, would bring attention, unwanted or otherwise. She'd need to move quickly as she could, leaving a small trail of blood in her wake. After some time, she found herself ontop one of the scaffoldings. How she managed to climb that ladder was beyond her at the moment, but she was glad to not be out in the open. Her eyes fell to her belt, where she saw the plastic radio. Perhaps it was time to check in. A shaky hand reach for it, and brought it too her lips. Pressing the transmit button, her voice went through the channel. "H-hello? Can any one hear me? It's Carmen...I-I got myself into a little predicament...and I need help...you can find me ontop of the first scaffold to the left once you enter North Plaza...shouldn't be too hard to find in the dark...I think I left a pretty nice beacon..." her eyes shifted to the blaze once more, before she stifled the radio.

"Oh, for fuck's sake." She muttered, hearing the ding of the elevator. Now, she had a real reason to go down there. Lana had mentally told herself that if she didn't feel like going out tomorrow, she wouldn't, but now, that more people were here, she probably would go down agian since she felt that it was her job to keep everyone healthy. She laid down quickly and gave an annoyed sigh. Seeing more people made her happy, but it meant that more work would have to be done.
Lana was silent again, and listened to the moans. It seemed that the moans would be the only things she would hear tonight, but she was wrong. Sudden static errupted from the radio she had recieved earlier. The sound made her shot up and search her pockets. "H-hello? Can any one hear me? It's Carmen...I-I got myself into a little predicament...and I need help...you can find me ontop of the first scaffold to the left once you enter North Plaza...shouldn't be too hard to find in the dark...I think I left a pretty nice beacon..."
Hearing the message only made her curse even more. "Damn, she went out in the dark..." She said it in a worried and nervous tone. She didn't want to go out down there, but the woman probably needed medical attention. Lana couldn't even imagine what might have happened to Carmen."I'm going down there and help her out...Shit...God if you're real please protect me from them..." She sighed and climbed down the ladder and got herself through the vents once more.
She exited from the place and entered the security rooms, hearing all the loud noises. Lana wanted all of them to quiet and calm down. She sort of knew what was happening, and she would probably need to stop it. "What's going to happen to those left behind!?" A man grabbed her by the shoulders and turned her around. "Let go of me...I don't have the fucking time. Carmen is down in the mall and I need to get to her quickly...I'm assuming she requires medical attention...Because I can help, I have to help...Now, get off." The man continued to shake her and she rolled her eyes. "A helicopter can come back and forth, or come here and go, so it can come back later with more help. I don't know, but just get off of me and think of the positive."
Lana ripped his hands off of her and walked over to her backpack, picking up a first aid kit, and other special supplies. She took up her monkey wrench and the garbage poker from earlier before going back to the vents. She bit her lip and looked at the people, hoping that atleast one of them would come with her. It was scary fighting them, and she bet it was scarier fighting in the dark. Lana made it through the vents and looked up at Eddy. "Our deal was for tomorrow in the day light, right? So I don't expect you to come, but I'm going back down there..." With that, she walked into the elevator, waiting for people if they chose to accompany her.
With each second her worry grew larger, and after five seconds of waiting, she pressed the close button. "Carmen," She said, pressing the button to the radio, "Carmen, I'm coming down there to get you...And you better still be alive when I get to you. I told you to stay in the security rooms to rest, and you go down there at night, with those things in the dark? Keep alive, ok? Just...don't move whatever is hurting...unless you have too. Try to stop it from bleeding too much, and maybe try to stop blood circulation..."

Lana stormed out of the security room muttering a prayer to God, wrench and poker in hand. "'Aight. We're all here, and we brought weapons!" he began undoing his holsters, straps, and the such, dumping everything onto to table, and asked Alyssa and David to do the same. "Anyone seen Carmen? the other cop that stays here?"A man in some dirty overalls and a southern drawl told him that she left looking for him, and hasn't come back. "damn it, the radio! I lost it..." He grabbed a couple clips of 9mm ammo from Alyssa and picked up his Browning, seeing that no one's found a use for it yet. He looked back and followed after Lana, telling the others to stay and make friends. he came out of the shaft and fell upon Eddy. "Lana pass here?" He pointed to the elevator, and the door was just barely closing. "hey! hold that door!" he slipped in, and started the slow decent.

The dark-skinned man walked out of the Security Room, leaving the two people he brought looking bewildered. just like all the rest, they were blood-covered, shaking, and pushed past their limits, but one of them looked familiar. maybe it was shock from the brawl he just witnessed, or maybe it was from a lack of sleep, but he recognized one of them. She made her way over to him, but he made no attempt to meet her. "I've seen your face before, Frank West right? I assume you're not here to sing koom baiya with the zombies." "Yeah. I'm Frank West. What's it to ya'?" he hissed caustically. "Wait... aren't you... Alyssa... Alyssa something?" I've seen her somewhere... he quirked his mouth in thought, and waited for an answer.

"Ashcroft." Alyssa glared. "You should remember the name well." She spoke through her teeth, bringing out more of an acidic tone. Some noises came out behind her but she was focused on one thing. "Oh yes, Alyssa Ashcroft, I beat you to the Hendersonville Murders." She chuckled. "I thought a great vet like you would be able to get into the school." She shrugged and shook her head. "Just shows a woman is more proficient than a man." She mused then folded her arms. "You look angry. Aw.. Poor Franky, got himself in a mess only to leave with nothing while Alyssa Ashcroft beats him again." Some people looked at her, one mumbling how much of a bitch she was but Alyssa didn't seem to notice. "But it's ok Frank." She said holding out a hand to shake. "I'm willing to make a 'friendly' competition aye? At least then you could get some popularity points for having contested with my greatness." She laughed again and a hand pressed on her shoulder. "Alyssa, no starting fights." The deep voice of David sounded as she rolled her eyes and decided to comply, just this once. When she was gone David held out his hand to shake with Frank. "David King." He mumbled, awaiting Frank's reaction.
"Um, ok..." Eddy mumbled and as he got his stuff ready, the rest of the cigarrette flying off the roof and pack and stuff in he began down the ladder. Suddenly the man that had passed them a few minutes ago agreed to come with. Lana was extremely pressy, she was about to go alone. "Ugh, Lana wait!" He shouted, following Eugene.

Carmen had gotten the message loud and clear. Stopping this thing from bleeding would be priority one. However, she was low on supplies, let alone the medical kind. She'd need to make due with what was available to her. All she could think to do was tie her two socks together and wrap them tightly around the wound. It wasn't the most sanitary of things, but it was either the socks or random tarp laying around the scaffolding...and she'd rather use something she knew only her feet had been in. Slowly, she undid her laces, and removed her boots, then laid them to the side. Carmen began to peel her socks off, starting on the left one, since the right leg had received all the collateral damage. She winced when she had to lean on the wounds, but she managed to slip it over her toes. The process was repeated with the right side, except she moved much slower with that one. Knotting the two pieces of cloth together, she began to wrap it around the gash made by the machete. She had enough medical expertise to know applying pressure to a wound was a way to help clot. Having knotting secure and tightly, she simply laid back, not bothering to put her boots back on. She'd do that when help arrived...when and if it did.

The mall had been an innocent shopping trip with a few of her closest friends but turned out to be the terrorifying horror story only shown in some B-list movie that went straight to video. She had taken refugee in all places a lingerie store. And for changing clothes, there weren't many option that let her cover her body up. In the end she chose a purple Matte, off the shoulder; jersey dress with a soft feel, in a sweetly seductive silhouette that swings from day to night. Fit-and-flare shape. Center ruching. Skinny straps. Criss-cross back.
The young teenaged girl spied a pair of semi-sensible boots. Honestly in this store it didn't help that the majority of the "clothes" that were on the rack were bra's & panties. She slipped them on presto instant slut. She sighed heavily, none of these styles were really her but they'd have to do for the time being until she found something more suitable for the situation. She tied her hair in a simple ponytail.
Sen looked around the corner from the store and seen virtually no zombies, which in itself was a miracle. She dashed quickly to the only place she could think of. The warehouse dodging anything that was in her way.

looking around, and deciding that the awkward silence was unnerving, he began to finish the song, to the plight of everyone. "... He opens his mouth, but the words won't come out, He's chokin', how? Everybody's jokin' now, The clock's run out, time's up over, blaoh! Snap back to reality, Oh there goes gravity, Oh, there goes Rab-" the elevator dinged, and he was the first to step out. The warehouse had the usual sparse covering of zombies, which were easily avoidable. Somebody was panting. He looked at the two behind him, and realizing his stupid move, turned back. A young woman in little more than underwear ran up, and stopped, seeing them. Eugene wiped the crusted blood of his face with a grime-covered hand, and waved with the other. "Uhhh.. Hello."

"David King." Frank mirrored, in a trying-too-hard-to-be-friendly fashion, and grasped the other man's hand. "Do you know her? I feel sorry. She steals my stories. every time!" he was still facing David, but was primarily ranting to himself. "I beat you to the Hendersonville Murders! blah blah blah..." Frank mocked childishly. "She stole my damn camera. she stole my damn recorder. I know it. News station hired her, and threw me out like trash."

left, right, left, left, right Again, Brandon was lost, running aimlessly, almost sure the homicidal bastard was behind him. Was this the way out? Lost... in air ducts... great. Just great. His heart was pounding in sync with his footfalls. Suddenly, he stomped on a vent, and his foot crashed though without resistance. He strained, and twisted his his other hip in ways it shouldn't be able to move, and sat on the ledge, wondering where he was. He looked down, an saw what looked like a staging area. behind it was a large canvas swatch. "Am I above the movie theater? To far to drop..." he sat.

Eddy was the second out. "I hope we find your dog-" He began to say when he was silenced when Eugene greeted someone. He thought it was Natalie at first until he looked past the officer to the girl. "Wow. Young." Was all he could say. He was surprised that the young people would make it so far, especially the kids up stairs. Natalie must've been one tough woman to save them.
David folded his arms but his words were still polite. "Well.. Whatever vendettas you two have, you should save it for after this. It's not about who wins what, neither of you will make it out to compete your stories if you're both dead and the only way any of us are making it out alive is if we work together." David was quick and sincere with his words then he grew quiet again. Alyssa didn't seem to be listening as she was looking cockeyed at the kids who were sleeping soundlessly wondering how they would've survived this mess.
"LET GO OF ME!!" A young woman's voice echoed in the theatre. An elderly man came into view from the vent, they didn't seem to notice it breaking open. "My breatheren!" The man started in a preach. "It is the lord who will save us!" He started. "WHY ARE YOU LISTENING TO THIS!?! LET ME GO! PLEASE!!" The woman's voice begged but they ingnored her and her muffled yells could be heard. It was obvious they had taped her mouth shut as the duct tap could easilly be heard snapping. "To serve our great lord." The man continued. "We will have to offer sacrifices! And this heretic shall be sacrificed to our beloved holy god at exactly 12pm tomorrow!" There seems to be a chant. The rest of what they had to say was more meaningless preachings of a lord that seemed similar to many different religions mixed in one.

Lana cocked her eyebrow and walked passed the three people. "Wow. Young." She heard Eddy say after Eugene greeted the girl. "Eugene...If you want you can escort the girl up there..." She said, trying to stifle a laugh. "I'll go with Eddy... that is, if he doesn't go up with you..." She rolled her eyes and continued on through the darkness, not waiting for the two men to follow. It couldn't be that bad, right? After all, Carmen had gone through it alone and injured, but with a gun and with proper training. Lana sighed, and readied herself for what was to come, and stood there for a few more seconds. "If the lights suddenly turn on and I'm swinging at nothing...god...I'll laugh."
She turned the corner and saw tiny, glowing red dots. "Damn...I was right..." It was heard to see these things in the dark, but even in the dark these things reacted the same. If you got near it, the thing would still reach out and try to grab you. "Well this is going to be heard...I guess I will be swinging my wrench crazily and blindly..."

The seventeen year old stared at the men who gazed back. Her right knee/leg jutted out, her left arm placed on her hip. Two hazel eyes peered at the strangers. Her demeanor was cold and lifeless, as if she was trying to calculate something. Taking another once over at the two men and the woman she followed the woman. ' So there are other people alive'.

Waiting there, hardly moving, she could feel her strength coming back. Eventually, she became restless, and mused with herself. If they were coming to meet her, then if she went to meet up with them, perhaps the medical treatment would come faster. It was only a matter of how far she would go before collapsing. Still not in the mood to put her boots on, she merely pushed them off the scaffold and began down the ladder. The cold metal rungs gave that cold piercing feeling to the soles of her barefeet, but she was able to disregard it for now. The sooner she got to people, the sooner help would come. Eventually reaching the bottom, she knelt down and recovered her boots, before proceeding in a crippled manner for the double doors that lead outside to Leisure Park. She couldn't help but wonder as she was slowly lumbering out like this. Had this been broad daylight, she could easily be confused for one of those zombies...hell, even during the night, she could be fired upon by accident. The moonlight gave her some visibility outside, which was enough to silhouettes. The red eyes would be the main signal for zombies, and from what she could tell, there were none in her path, as she continued onto the grass, to the reflective surface that the moon was shining on, which could only be the doors to the Paradise Plaza.

"You sure you want to follow us?"Eugene questioned the teen. "We're going out to look for someone. You can go up to the security room if you like. All the rest of the survivors are in there, and it's a good place to rest. Waiting for a reply, he walked on.

"I know, I know." Frank chanted. "You'd understand if you were in this line of work. A lost scoop is like plague on your resume`." he took a deep breath and avoided looking in Alyssa's direction. he looked pleadingly to David to understand, then swiped the air, and began to take shots of the massing crowd of people, taking special care to emphasize the two children, teddy bears in hand.

What the hell is going on? he thought as he,quietly as he could, pulled his legs up into the ceiling, and slid to get a better view of the crowd the man in the center was addressing. Jesus!I need to tell them about this!! He slid backwards slowly, and winced as the buttons on the back of his shorts dragged across the steel, making a small scraping sound. Hyperventilating, he reasoned his way through the vents he's never been in.

Eddy was about to say the same thing as Eugene but he beat him to it so Eddy just stayed quiet as he followed in the same pace.
"Ok, ok.." David agreed. "But a job isn't worth your life." He finished and went to go sit down again. Alyssa rocked back and forth, at first glance it would look like she was doing it out of pain and fatigue but she was really trying to calm herself from going and arguing with Frank more. She made the mistake by glancing at him for a fraction of a second and that fraction set her nerves aflared. She shook her head and stood up, still holding her hand to her forehead and stormed off into the vents, going the opposite direction of the same path Eugene lead her through so she could get some fresh air and relax on the roof.
Thump, thump. The white haired preacher looked up at the loud banging of the vents. "Ah!" He he mused. "The devil spawns his demons in the ventilation ducts! GO! FIND THE HEATHEN!!" He shouted and the sound of boots could be heard as what sounded like groups and groups of people running out.
