"Aim for the glowing things, guys." Lana said, before dodging what she thought was a hand. It didn't take long for her to get out of the warehouse, but when she got outside she stopped. The groups of zombies were much more scarier in the dark, and because of all the glowing, red dots, there seemed like there were twice as more. "It isn't so bad..." She told herself, adjusting her backpack strap. She took a deep breath and looked behind her, hearing footsteps.
"I last heard she was in North Plaza, let's get to her quickly...We should cut through the park." After she said this, she started to jog away from the warehouse and toward the nearest doors to leisure park. She tried to avoid groups of zombies, but when one suddenly got in the way, she would push it away and either deliver a poke in the eye, or give it a good swing from the wrench.

Carmen had been pushing herself, and she was about ready to collapse; it was a miracle she could walk with that right leg at all. Eventually though, she noted figured moving towards the door that lead to Leisure Park from Paradise plaza. Their movements were random, and they were not slow or lumbering. Also, it looked like they were moving towards her, which meant that had to be facing her...and without those glowing eyes, it was likely they were not zombies. "Did they come to help me?" she said to herself, before going to the ground. Her hand went down to her belt, and grasped the handle of her flashlight, then clicked the button so the ray would come on. She'd fear the zombies might be attracted to it, so she decided to not shine it in their direction, and only at the glass doors. "Come on...come and get me..." she said outloud.

Brandon didn't know where he was going, he just knew he needed to move. Fast. The woman he saw earlier, dressed in maroon from head to toe, crossed his path, and he stopped her. "I think I have something you want to see. but first, We need to move. I think our first real welcoming party is on it's way." He continued to hold onto her sleeve, and hoped she understood the metaphor.
Eugene was at a slow jog behind Lana when he saw a column of light pierce the deep blue sky. "Please don't tell me They've figured flashlights out." As they got closer, a figure in prone materialized behind the glass doors, a vague silhouette. He ran faster. As the gap between the two grew smaller, Eugene only ran faster. He flung the door open, and performed a football tackle on a zombie approaching Carmen, still half-hidden in shadow. Laying beside her, Eugene panted "What the hell were you thinking girl? Jesus!" He smirked and embraced the lost, battered, beaten comrade.

Eddy stood at his jog. He knew Eugene could handle her. When he reached her he looked around, expecting to see another person. "Eh... Wasn't Natalie with you?" He asked, his eyebrows unevenly crooked.
"Huh?" Alyssa stared at the guy she'd seen storm off upon her arrival, bewildered. "Run? Hurry? From what?" she asked then looked down the vents. "Oh my god! Are zombies coming!? OH MY GOD!! NO!! I should've stayed at the fucking gun shop! I fucking knew this was a bad idea!!!" She stressed so loudly that the sound of people panicking from her words in the security room could be heard.

"I hope not...If they did then that's one award I'm not giving out..." Lana ran towards the light. She stopped at the door and pushed it open, waiting for Eddy to pass. She approached the two slowly, and looked at the zombie Eugene had tackled. She slowly raised her arm and with one quick movement she stabbed the poker through the undead's eye. A frown formed on her face before she turned to Carmen. Lana wanted to scream at Carmen for putting herself in danger, but that wouldn't help. Instead of screaming, Lana kneeled down beside the two and held up her ten fingers. She wiggled them while saying, "So, Carmen, how many hallucinatory fingers am I holding up?" Lana grinned at her little joke.
"...We'll have to bring her back to the security rooms...Unless...you and Eddy want to play whack a zombie for a while...so I can fix her up...It'll be safer at security rooms right...Carmen, just hold in there." She shivered and rubbed her arms. "And warmer too..."

The voices of people...that weren't trying to kill you. There was nothing more welcoming than that right now. Carmen felt the warmth from the dark skinned man envelop her body as he embraced her, and could only think to do it back, making sure to slide all exposed flesh she could somewhere on him. Eventually his question registered in her ears. "What was I thinking?" she began weakly, "That is something I'm not even sure about anymore. I'm battered, bruised, beaten, bloody, bleeding, barely stable, barefoot, and bracing some black bastard. Anymore "b's" and I'd have a hive." Despite what she'd gone through, she was stil able to find the room to joke.
Her gaze went to Lana when she gave the finger test. Her vision had gone blurred a while ago, but she could see straight enough to atleast navigate. "Who wants to know..." she said, indicating she probably saw more than one Lana. This of course was another attempt to be funny, she didn't really know many fingers were being held up though. Closing her eyes, she just tightened her grip on her companion, and waited for him to either carry her away like a knight would a damsel, or leave her for the zombies.

She looked to the survivors and seen them embraced a woman. They were obviously worried about her. Sen wondered how other peopl she knew fared against the invading monsters. She hung back a little bit from the rest of the group and stared for a time.

"Alright...Anyone wanting to volunteer for piggy backin' Carmen..." She looked to Eddy and then to Eugene. "If you men don't do it...then I'll do it...but I'm not getting scolded at for constantly dropping her." Lana then walked away from the three for a moment and approached the teenage girl. "In a few moments, we'll be heading back to our...safe rooms. Hang tight..." Lana turned back to the three and called for the two men. "Hey, let's go, we'll have to get her back to the security rooms..." She looked down and sighed. Then she would probably check up on Natalie...

Eugene got up, knelt besides his friend, and flicked a wisp of hair away from her face. "Here, I'll take her." He laid her head against his shoulder and cradled her body against his, draping the other's limp legs over his elbow. "Not exactly grade-A transport, but it'll do." The reunited group began heading forwards, back home.
(While I remember how to post, you're gonna have to deal with fillers.)
"Oh my god! Are zombies coming!? OH MY GOD!! NO!! I should've stayed at the fucking gun shop! I fucking knew this was a bad idea!!!" wait, if that sycophant was controlling them, wouldn't he know the doors are welded shut? Deciding not to voice this thought, He began following the vents Alyssa walked, and found himself at the door of the security room, pulling back a bit at the sight of the crimson spatter on the wall opposite. He peeked his head out, and bracing for a neck-shattering blow, retracted. "You go first."

Lana looked at Carmen for a moment and then at her own hands. She tried her best to help the girl earlier, but her fear of them dying scared her. Her husband was a life saver, and he always seemed to make everyone better, even her. She wished that she was as good as him, and wished to hear his encoraging words. Lana looked back at Carmen with worried eyes. What if Carmen died? What if she made a mistake and cost Carmen her life? What if her best wasn't good enough? Her stomach began to twist and turn, as she thought of it. "...What if I can't do it..." She muttered, turning to the doors.
She jogged to a door and opened it to swing at some of the monsters. Lana turned to the others and waved them to come. "These things really aren't making the day..."

Eddy stood quietly but he did have to use a precious bullet on a zombie. Unfortunately it wasn't a head shot but it halted it. Next thing he found himself by Lana. She heard her mumble something. "Huh?" He asked but she didn't asnwer. He found himself hurrying them forward with Lana. "Hurry!"
Alyssa's mouth went wide open. "Y-you're joking right?" She asked him with her eyebrow cocked. Seeing that he wasn't joking she took a deep breath. "Fine... Pussy..." She shook her head and took out her mirror, she always had to look presentable for interviews. She flashed it around the corner. It was David, he was beating on something with a pole.. Or someone... Alyssa hesitantly exited the shaft. There were quite a few people laying on the floor dead. Only one of them wasn't in a yellow rain coat and a green mask. It was Otis, he was lying there in a pool of his own blood. "Oh my god..." She mumbled as she put her hand to her mouth. David turned and shook his head. "A group of people. Took the kids. The rest are on the roof."

Carmen clung onto him like Oprah and a salad bar. Her eyes were closed, but she was still conscious. "Haha...you know Earl.." she said weakly, perhaps on the brink of passing out. "You haven't held me this close since that one mishap during the undercover bust. I didn't think you'd hold me like this unless I was wearing fishnets again. Good to know I don't need to masquerade as a prostitute again." Her body started to quiver, and her grip tightened on the dark skinned man. "It's so cold..." she let out. "I just want to jump into a sauna right now...yeah...when we get out of this, that's where I'll go..."

"It's so cold..." He looked to Eddy, then Lana, with a worried glance. The sun was peaking over the horizon now, and it was warm considering where she was a few minutes ago. "Carmen, If we get our raggedy asses out of here, I'll buy you a sauna. I promise that much. Hehe, that was a good day, for me at least." She slackened her grip, then clung on tighter again. "Stay with me girl. Go ahead, tell me what happened that day? was it in July? right? Set me straight." Acting was never Eugene's strong suit, and it wasn't any easier now. A tear ran down the sullen man's nose, dropping onto Carmen's bosom. He looked at Lana, and with his eyes told her "you did your best, that's all we ever asked.", and started talking to the smaller woman in his arms, looking for any extra minutes he could squeeze out.

"It's so cold..."
Lana pretended not to see Eugene's first glance, and she swung the wrench harder than she had before. Even if she could have been as good as her husband, she could have never been as strong. Losing patients always hurt her, and that was one thing that she always dealt with. "Carmen, If we get our raggedy asses out of here, I'll buy you a sauna. I promise that much. Hehe, that was a good day, for me at least." She shoved the poker up a zombies throat, and then pulled it out. "Stay with me girl. Go ahead, tell me what happened that day? Was it in July? Right? Set me straight." Inside of her, she was screaming at herself to hurry. Her arms were beginning to ache from the constant swinging of her wrench.
Eugene looked at her, and she turned away. Like a child, she turned away and looked to the ground and just cried. "You did your best, that's all we ever asked." That's what Eugene told her, but she still wished that she could have done better. They were so close to the warehouse now, and they only had a few zombies to get though now. She threw her wrench at one and stayed with the poker. Lana was covered in blood and she felt as if she could no longer carry the heavy monkey wrench. "Move! Goddammit!" She shouted, pushing aside zombies with her stick. She was a nurse, but she never seemed to save anybody.

Eddy was running very low of ammo from the gun Brad had given him. He knew it. He fired off a few more rounds. enough to kill one and send another to his knees where Lana finished him off. Eddy began to notice Lana beginning to give up, she even threw the wrench. Then he looked back on Eugene and Carmen, they seemed to have been giving up too. He growled and shot another zombie, only to notice that the clip was now empty. He dodged a zombie and picked up the wrench Lana flung and killed another. "We're so close! Don't give up! We're so close to sanctuary!" He called to them as he hit another.
