War was always an event that could not be fortold nor could it be ignored. It was a time when countries rivaled and tried to prevail. War was usually started because of a trivial matter but what if it was because a secret? Legends..... descendants of the powerful. The essence of something greater, something God-like. These were the stories made, these were the reasons why war had come. This was the ruination of a planet.
Peace treaties were broken weeks after, the search had lasted ten long years. Years that could never be brought back. The innocent were mercilessly killed without thought. Mothers and Fathers greiving over their children. Had this always been like this? Had the men and women of this planet been so ignorant? Maybe they always have.
Those who seeked the answers were slaughtered with the innocents telling the public they were spies or traitors of their country. Gaia was to become ruins.

"Enemy tanks ahead!! Load the anti-tank cannon!" The yell of the commanding officer boomed throughout the bunker. "The shore batteries have fallen! The Yuke Army advances! Do not them defile our soil more than they have!" The shore defenses of the world power country, known as Haltie, were holding strong against the Yuktobanian landing forces. But, this was not even half of the vanguard force. Several Halteese bunkers had fallen, due to the combined powers of the Yuke heavy tanks, known as 'Battlemasters' and the bombing from squads of fighter-bombers, known as 'Tornados'. They were all under command of the Yuktobanian General, Kanon Gorizant. "FIRE!!" The bunker commander called again. The blast recoil knocked of few soldiers from their post, as the artillery piece ejected it's payload. It only managed to blow off a tread from an advancing Battlemaster, but that tank was still able to roll forward. "Damn't! You're all useless! Re-load and fire again! The enemy is going to eat us alive if you don't concentrate....WHAT ARE YOU GUYS WAITING FOR?!!! LOAD THE DAMN CANNON!" But it was too late. An incindiary round was fired from a Yuktobanian mortor tank, which landed inside the bunker, setting it ablaze. The fire ignited the shells inside, detonating all of them. No one inside survived. This was war, and things much worse than that were going to happen. The current battle takes place on the shores of the country of Halteese, known as the Bastok Penisula. The Halteese had set up multiple bunkers and dugout trenches. The field had been torn up, and the Yuktobanian landing force has already seized the southern most fortress, as well as several bunkers surronding it. Still, they are outnumbered by the Halteese defense army, and are pushing forward with tanks. Halteese soldiers are in the trenches a few hundred yards in front of the captured fortress, awaiting the Yuke tanks to advance. The soldiers are easy targets for chemcial weapons, or the Yuktobanian flame tank.

As the roars of guns and tanks exploaded around each soldier as they took refuge in trenchs, one particular soldier hopped into a trench and looked to his brother who seemed to be trying to say something. His voice was audible from all the explosions so the soldier tried to read his brother's lips. Unfortunately, the soldier didn't take in much but nodded as if he knew. His brother then seemed to take a deep breath, then he climbed out of the trench and headed towards and enemy bunker. The soldier cursed as he gave his brother cover. His brother looked back and was in awe that the soldier did not follow. The soldier had a bag full of C4, but his brother needed him to come with, since his brother didn't know how to wire it. Cursing again the soldier tried to climb out but was stopped from heavy fire. The soldier picked his head up to see the remains of his brother, a tank had fired and got a lucky hit. Tears ran down his face as he sat stunned in the trench. He was no different then other soldiers.

"Just three more fortresses..." The woman said, smirking. By first glnace, it was easy to tell she was of high rank. All Yuktobanian soldiers were dressed almost identical, save the few who decided not to where the skull cap. The basic uniform for the Yuke soldiers: Black battle suits, covered nearly whole by body armor, a respirator attached to an filter mounted on the back, which is just really a big gas mask, and finally, the option of where the skull cap, which is what army rangers would wear. This woman stood out, for she wore no head-gear. The binoculars were against her eyes, as she scouted the area ahead. The white helmets of the Halteese soldiers could be seen every now and then, just popping up from the trenches, watching if the Yukes had decided to advance. "General Gorizant..." One of her officers stated. "The tank crews are ready to go. They'll move on you're command." "And the Airborne tank tranports?" The General, Kanon, asked her officer. "Ready to drop on your command." "Excellent. Send the Crusader and Scorpion divsion first."
"Oh no...you're kidding!" The Halteese beach commander shouted, as he peered through the binoculars. "The advance is starting already." Running quickly to the communitcation table, he contacted all trench and bunker officers. He was about to put a great retaliation plan in action. "All trench captains in front of the bunkers, pull your men back. We're going to lead the tanks into an ambush. This will impede the Yuke advance for sometime. Repeat, all trench captains, pull your forces back into the trenchs behind the bunkers and stand by." The captain of the trench (John's character) was, yelled out the order. "All men, fall back to rear-more trenches! Use the tunnel systems! Hurry! The Yuke pigs are coming!"

The groups progressed through the tunnels until they were out of the way of the advance. The Halteese captain tightened his helmet as the explosions echoed. Soon enough they were at the back trenches and preparing the ambush. Taking a deep breath as he relaxed his eyes, the captain remembered his stupidity as he watched his brother die, he now felt regret and anger. He would blow each and every Yuke off this earth.

The tanks rolled over the trenches, but the strange thing was, the bunkers had halted firing at them. General Kanon stared ahead at the battalion she had sent in, and a few transmission came from the tank crews who seemed equally confused. "Have the Halteese surrendered their land? It seems way to convient." One of the drivers said. "We need to keep moving forward. The General hasn't issued a hold spot order." The tanks rolled forward, looming closer to the ambush. Even when the first tank rolled into range, the Halteese guerillas held fire, until they felt it was best. When the end of the column was behind the bunkers, the ambush started. The guerillas launched an anti-tank rocket at the rear and front tanks, destroying them and trapping the others. Then choas rose after that. The bunkers began firing again, as did the tanks. Yuktobanian soldiers mounted the .50 cal. machine guns on their tanks, trying to kill as many enemies as possible. "We fell right into a trap!! Why didn't the commander expect this?" "Dammit!! The TOW launchers busted!!" "We're easy targets just sitting here! We can be hit from anywhere!" The tank crew relayed messages to eachother and the General. Kanon slammed her fist on map. "No! No! Who's the buffoon in charge of that battalion!" Artillery pieces hidden behind the bunkers began their barrage as well, making quick work of the Battlemasters. Halteese light tanks, known as Dagger II's, also joined in, assisting in clearing out the soldiers mounted on the guns. A surviving Yuke crewman saw that it was hopeless. Grabbing two grenades from his belt, and pulling the pins, he yelled "I'll make the sacrifice! Victory to our Yuktobania!!!" He charged an anti-tank squad, and the grenades detonated when he was in range, killing all of them.

The captain also fired at the trapped Yuktobakians but didn't kill any, like many other soldiers his bullets only hit the armor of tanks but kept sufficient cover fire for the Daggers. Finally the battle was over and the captain looked down upon the fine men who was victims of a suicidal. "Damnit!" He yelled then began to look upon the dead for members of his small regiment. He found a few. He wanted to get his brother's dog tags but knew it was too dangerous. The Yuktobakians are probably already preparing for a counter attack.

"Alright, fine." The Yuktobanian General stated calmly. "I need a new battle plan." She went over the map a few times, then if came to her. The Yukes, like Halteese had brought everything they could do destroy the enemy. The Yuktobanian's had a long range rocketcraft, known as a 'Rocket buggy'. It was very light vehicle, but devastating if it can get an entire salvo of rockets out. It's a mere buggy elevated by shocks, with big wheel. A missile of rack is on the back, which fires up to ten rockets per-section. The missiles are small, and general weak alone, but they can fired at an alarming rate. The Halteese counter for this was their heavy armored missile tank. Unlike the rocket buggy, it had only one missile, but this one was could cover a large radius, and could as much damage as the rocket barage. Both of these were an unfair advantage, but that is why both nations built anti-missile tanks. Yuktobania's was the ECM tank. Had the basic body of a tank, but instead of a cannon, it had a jamming dish. It works the same with the Halteese ECM tank, which was more rectangle shaped, as was the jamming dish. She ordered the battlemasters to move forward into the trenches again, but also ordered the rocket buggies to pull in behind them. The buggies would stop and give support from afar, but until the tanks cleared out the two bunkers guarding the entrance. The Halteese General was not able to see this, and ordered the ambush again. The tanks crew had thrown grenades into the firing windows of the bunkers, which cleared out. The battlemasters moved forward, as the soldiers awaited their captain, John's charrie, for the ambush signal.

'You dont think they'd fall for the same trick twice?' He asked himself, but decided to follow orders anyways and got down and waited for the troops rolled in. Finally it was time and the captain yelled the charge as he shot the first shot and many other troops after. A few things seemed to wizz up through the air, they were small and almost looked like rockets but it was hard to see from that distance. Firing his rifle at a soldier and wounding the man in the thigh, the captain then got to cover where he would reload yet again.

"Those fools..." General Kanon smirked. The drivers of the rocket buggies also seemed happy. "Wow, if we protect our tanks, we'll get a medal for sure." "But don't get to cocky. The Halteese are pretty smart when it comes to defending." One of the Haltese soldiers pointed at the incoming missiles. "Rocket barrrage!! The Yuke's brought in Rocket buggies! Take cover!" The rockets pummeled into the sides of the cliff, the main purpose to hit the artillery stationed threre. Some strayed off to the middle, hoping to to hit a Dagger. Meanwhile, Yuke tanks continued there advance, gunning down whoever they could under the cover of the rocket barrage. "We're slipping through, we just might make it." One of the soldiers adressed Captain Townes, John's character. "Sir, the ambush is at half strength, because of the suicide bombers from the last one, and we're getting hammered by the rocket buggies. The General is allowing you to use any vehicle and weapon to repel the advance. Radio him, and tell him."

(God this is difficult, dont hate me for thinking NOD vs GDI.)
"Right!" He yelled and took out his radio and answered. "Sir, I think we should send out Mammoth tanks. Their cannons should be able to hit their Rocket Buggies!" He yelled over the carnage. The Mammoth tank was new and very efficient. Their rockets can go great distances and their cannons could peirce through thick armor, not to mention it's thick exterior. This weopon was powerful, but it costed a fortune to make them, and they didn't have very many. Townes let go of the talk button as one of the soldiers were shot in the chest. "Medic!" He yelled as one quickly came and pulled the injured soldier out of harm's way. "God, I hope they send them." He prayed, waiting for the reply.

"Roger Captain Townes. We'll send two to your position. I'm afraid it may take up to ten minutes to arrive. Can we trust you to hold until they arrive?" The beach commander responded. Just then, one of the Halteese soldiers shouted "Tornados!! Take cover!" Many of the soldiers layed prone in the trenches, covering their heads. The fighter-bombers flew a bit low, as they dropped their payload, removing five of the eight Daggers that had arrived. "Damn't we're helpless against air support and airstrikes. Captain how long do you think we can hold?" "The Halteese are faltering under our air-attacks. This'll be over soon." One of the buggy drivers stated. General Gorizant had even sent a message to Captain Townes. "This is Yuktobanian General Kanon Gorizant. Halteese commanding officers, you will not be able to hold against oour attacks. Surrender, saves both of us bloodshed."

Townes picked it up and talked through the fighting. "Heh. How about you surrender, and save yourself the humiliation of going home empty handed." He taunted, stalling time for the Mammoths to get in.

"excelent..." He snarled as the private delivered the news. "Sir! Ustio has gained approximately five miles from the original borders since this morning-" "How long have the foot soldiers been deployed?" "About six hours, sir!" the soldier replied. "tell them to work HARDER," He barked, "we don't have forever!" "Yes SIR!"
That was the plan of this battle...to act like a victim in a series of war-time invasions, then raid the countryside while Yuktobonia and Haltie were off quarrelling somewhere else... "Some would call us war aggressors, but I'd say the underdogs in a race..." He thought to himself. He would invade, He would win this war He started, but in time...

"That pride is going to get you killed, Captain." Kanon replied smugly. "The glorious Yuktobanian military will not falter. Now watch the skies Captain, I'm thinking of putting a little airshow." A few seconds after her transmission had ended, about ten Tornados flew over the trenches, in perfect formation. Then, as they were over the bunkers, they split into two groups of five, and broke off, one going left, the other right. "Wanna see it again? Heehee." "General!" One of the pilots contacted her. "A pair of Halteese assault tanks are heading for the trenches! They just might be enough to repel our attack." "Continue with operations." She snapped back. "But, General. Our men will get---" "Soldier! You had your chance to be afraid before you joined our army. And you do know the penalty for cowards?" "Yes ma'am..."
